A falcon md 20 will save you a lot of work I use one nearly everyday for the same purpose and it works well.chain mills are good but you can also get 12 volt hammer mills that run off a car battery with a much higher crushing capacity,a jaw crusher will also save you a lot of work, thanks for your show 😊

Nice grab samples Sean , that's a whole lotta fun hunting around through that stuff . There is an old saying , the Redder the Better , Also, gold rides an iron horse , i'm sure you know that anyway . Some of that Quartz was nicely mineralized , lots of red rusty rotten look about it , of coarse a lot of surface stuff is leached out long ago but you got some good results from a few samples you found , good job. Nice I’ve got a fist size piece of quartz with plenty of mineralisation and visible green copper and pyrite. I’ll dolly it up and see what I get. Trouble is which part of our Australia wide trip did I pick it up??? Good luck fellas I hope you do well, I’d be happy to be doing that outdoors work if I could just cover costs

I’ve seen another TH-camr pull a lot of gold from black bands between red material. Try the black stuff as well could just be another time of deposition (the quartz)
I believe since iron is heavy gold could have easily been riding along with it.

You understand that you are looking to retrieve micro gold. With that being said, I feel that you need to crush your rocks up much finer. Good luck.

Try heating your rocks in a campfire, then quenching in water, then crushing. It will fall apart 10x easier.

Yeah, rock crushing by 'Arm Strong' sucks. 🙂 You can also screen a larger sample or a soil sample for faster results. That is what I do when I am not bringing the RC46 along. Works pretty well. I have a video on it, but don't want to post a link without your permission. If interested, let me know.

I know they are very very expensive but why don't you buy one of those xray guns that cost 10k-50k and use it to find the gold in the rocks. It would save alot of physical work and let you know exactly whats inside a rock. No one else is doing it..guess its cause it costs so much for one of those guns, but boy would it be interesting to see you use it!

The red color in the rock is actually fossilized blood. These are mud fossils. The gold was within the blood of the fossilized creature. It accumulates at the lower portions of the body. You should dig deeper where you found those red stones. The concentration should get higher

Roast your quartz samples. Most gold isn't in the metallic form and needs to be heated to red hot in order to change to it's metallic form. I, just a day ago, found a rock I had lining a barrel I used to roast and attempted to melt pyrite. I showed no signs I was aware of gold was present. After roasting, i'm gonna say at least half the entire rock is now gold flakes. I had gold dust all over my hands and tracked it back to the rock. It went from very little gold at best to 1/2 to 3/4, give or take, of the whole rock, was now very visible gold flakes. I'm just guessing, but i'd say the majority of gold is lost because it isn't in metallic form for those who don't roast their gold containing mineral.
The recent bushfires that went through in that area had already roasted the ore for me, that is why we are only picking up surface samples in this video 🤠. If I was to start digging for quartz veins then I would roast my materials to Soften it up before crushing it to sample.
