My ancestral village is "Nakrali" - Distt.Rawalpindi.Later my family moved to "Chhachi Mohalla" in Pindi.
Then in 1947 my family moved to Jammu.
Though I was born in Jammu I do recall my elders talking about Nakrali and Pindi always.The best sentence I still remember was "Assa ne Pindi Jehra Chaan Charna Aiya...Uss Heya Kiddray Ni Takkeya".
Its my wish if I can visit this "Sarzameen" ever in my life time.Aameen Summa Aameen.❤

Rawalpindi was established by Rajput Maharana Bappa Rawal. He setup his first military post at Rawalpindi while chasing sway Arabs before 8th century. Later on he setup a city and named it Rawalpindi.
It was already established by previous Gujjar empire. Jai Gurjar Samrat Mihir Bhoj slayer of arabs.

I lived 84 years in Rawalpindi yet I did not the History. I heard that Hatti chowk that a elephant stood there? And Lall kurtti was where some English regiment with redskilts were stationed.I saw scotish soldiersgoing to church on the Mall called church of scotland .Thanks

1978 سے اب تک بہت کچھ بدلتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
بہت شکریہ جناب آپ کی وجہ سے ایک جھلک اس گھر کی بھی نظر آئی۔ پچھلے 15 سالوں سے میں سعودی عرب میں مقیم ہوں۔
