    Putting in a lot of clone creatures is a good idea, they make great targets for reanimate spells and it helped me a lot going against a Shoeldred deck, copying it basically stopped me from losing life from drawing cards and also counteracted their own life gain.

      I would have included more but the deck was more about always hitting so I cut creatures to make sure you would 😅 but I could easily see a build that utilizes clones very effectively

      @@TypicalGeminiMTG I also didn't add extra turns because I don't think it would be very fun.

    Some upgrade suggestions: with its impending reprint in Ravnica Remastered, Time Stretch is more affordable and would be an absolute bomb to stack on your library. In Garruk's Wake is such a delicious wipe. Instead of Necrogen Communion (whose poison strategy is probably just wishful thinking) I'd suggest Minion's Return. It can do the same thing but at instant speed and can be a theft effect. Lapis Orb of Dragonkind is a nifty scry tacked onto casting Hidetsugu and Kairi and since it's a cast trigger it lets you ship cards to the bottom if you don't like them so their ETB can look at other cards.
    I would definitely cut Sacrifice as it's around $3 and while that's hardly a budget breaker in most cases, when you're trying to be as low as possible it's not really worth spending that much on one card when it's not absurdly strong in the deck.

      @TypicalGeminiMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah when I made the deck Sacrifice was a much cheaper card and although generating the mana is nice it’s not really necessary. Also love the other suggestions I hope they get closer to being able to be used on a budget though 😁 thank you for all the comments

    It would be really great to see some games with your budget decks!

      I would love to but unfortunately I’m really pressed for time normally and between my work schedule and the videos I already do plus my personal life there just isn’t much time to record and edit gameplay yet. I’m hoping once I get a little better at the videos and the channel has grown I will be able to start doing some gameplay with the budget decks 😁 thank you for commenting

    Looks like a lot of fun once it gets going but the deck looks in need of ramp since the commander costs 5 and the fun starts only after that. :D

      I probably should have included some more mana rocks but I think the reason I packed it so tight with everything else is to guarantee that you can hit and keep the chain going. But I’ll take a look at the mana rocks and see how that works, thank you for commenting 😄

    I was really excited for this card hen it was spoiled. we have the same idea for the most part, but a big draw for me was to get Uyo and Mystic Sanctuary in a deck that can pay it off real well.

      I would have included mystic sanctuary but it was a little out of the price range, it is a great include though! Thank you for commenting 😁

    Maybe decanter of endless water instead of dark steel ingot? The hand size seems more useful than indestructible on the rock

    • @TypicalGeminiMTG
      @TypicalGeminiMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be a great include but unfortunately it was just a little expensive compared to the other things I wanted to include in the deck but again yes that is a great include. Thank you for commenting 😁

    Rules question: wouldn't clones of Hidetsugu and Kairi die by the legend rule as soon as they ETB as a state based effect and therefore the death trigger would happen before the ETB? It's not a deal breaker but it does look like the clones can't set up their own death trigger the same way as the real one can.

    • @TypicalGeminiMTG
      @TypicalGeminiMTG  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know for 100% but like you said either way it’s not a huge deal. I’ll do some digging just to confirm the ruling

    • @benrichardson5662
      @benrichardson5662 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TypicalGeminiMTGI just realized that because the clone dies instantly, the ETB and death triggers go on the stack simultaneously and therefore as the controlling player we choose which goes on the stack first. In short, cloning Hidetsugu and Kairi does work as you say in the video.

  • @TwiztedSeed
    @TwiztedSeed ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the stack for the clones etb & death triggers are backwards as the legend rule is a state based effect and must be resolved before the etb's go off. That means that if you are planning on using the clone to brainstorm then dome, it will instead dome THEN brainstorm.

    • @Destrudo5359
      @Destrudo5359 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it checks game based actions first. Then you order the stack...

    • @TwiztedSeed
      @TwiztedSeed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Destrudo5359 So it doesn't etb, etb trigger, 2 legendary permanents with the same name, legend rule trigger, select permenant to sacrifice/keep, sacrifice, death trigger?

    • @Destrudo5359
      @Destrudo5359 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@TwiztedSeed doesnt matter . Legendary rule takes priority as a game state checked action. After it checks everything else follows. They happen together which is why you're able to order the triggers however you wish on the stack.
