I'm only a minute in and the Ward Warning already made this on point. It's funny how WotC loves to slap Ward 2 on anything as if they're wondering "this card needs a little bit more, but what - oh whatever, just slap Ward 2 on it."
I recently got into Magic and really really wanted to play a deck with Kylox. After trying this deck out with a friend, I fell in love with it! Thanks so much for the fun brew. I also appreciate the pacing and editing of your videos. It's very informative while being concise and entertaining to watch.
Thank you so much! It means a lot getting these comments letting me know that the work is appreciated 😁 I’m glad you enjoyed it and hope you continue your magic journey
Did my first game with this deck. Kylox ability X = 39. I had 4 extra turns already and would have been able to cast nexus of fate, and others repeatedly. Such a funny win.
@@TypicalGeminiMTG Also am totally loving the budget nature of these. Sure i'll add a couple cards (magnus the red, metalurgic summoning, saga version of gitaxias... DEFINETLY thousand year storm. But i think keeping it as pure instant/sorcery as possible definetly really can work well
This kinda feels like a heir to the Ovika deck I requested you all the way back in September, with how it only has 1 creature and that's the commander, or how they both the same kind of deal (heavily expensive izzet commanders with built in protection that can take the game by storm incredibly fast). Kylox definetely going in the Ovika deck once I get around building that, using yours at base. Tho kinda would like to see how you revisit it? Maybe get a video on it if you feel. And ovika should be an honorary guest in this deck, since the idea of making so many goblins if both Kylox and them are on the battlefield is soooo funny
You are 100% right! While I feel Kylox can more easily pull off an all spells deck, Ovika is no slouch. I’m sorry you’ve had to wait so long on the deck but I promise it is something I’m actively working on in the background. I do have another deck already lined up for this coming week but I promise your deck plus the video for it is coming. Ovika is a commander I love myself and the fact she makes sooooooo many goblins is crazy. Her plus Kylox would be an absolute insane thing to have out at the same time. Thank you for commenting and I promise it’s coming soon 😅 again thank you for being so patient with me
I play commander in 1v1 and it didn't go well at all. I think that a 4 player game would make it much more forgiving of how slow it is (the 40 life would also help). The lack of ramp and the fact that it can't pull any effective play before it has 7 mana on the field means it's a sitting duck. @@TypicalGeminiMTG
You should try a (Yedora, Grave gardener) deck that uses cards like Kalonian Twingrove and Crash of the Rhino Beetles to swing extremely hard very fast. They're very fun if you have table space for the forests. Obvious upgrades are Ashaya and Awaken the Woods.
I do not unfortunately, but going forward I’ll try to do 2 lists to make it easier to see the upgrades. Thank you for commenting I hope you enjoy the deck 😁
@@TypicalGeminiMTG yeah It would be great to have both lists! My table is pro proxys, I am right now testing your deck in cockatrice and its Very Fun to play. But It feels slow!
Unfortunately one of the downsides to a budget deck like this one, is finding budget cards to ramp with. That’s why in the upgrades I made sure that’s one of the first things upgraded to make it a little less slow
I would love to use it but you would have to play it then play Kylox otherwise your giving away the outlet to sac all their stuff, but still a great addition if everything aligns right 😁 thank you for commenting
Love budget brews but this one seems heavily, heavily underpowered. 7 cmc commander with barely any ramp and no protection means you will be casting him on average turn 6-7. If the board doesn't get wiped before, the commander not killed or countered the moment you play him (because the projection when you're about to storm off is very obvious too all 3 opponents) then the pay-off is a couple of free spells if you don't whiff.
More so meant to be a chain of events. Sure it’s something people will see coming but if they can’t stop it the deck will spin out of control. With new cards coming and more ways to make treasures with instants or sorceries the deck will get stronger. The idea was a concept of no misses, only hits. I do agree the deck could use some ramp to help get the commander out early but I stand by what I made. It was a fun self imposed challenge and I still think it’s a fun deck 😅 thank you for your comment though I do appreciate the feedback 😁
Looks to me like another izzet copy machine deck. I stopped using that in most of my spellslinger decks because the turns can taken forceer and its horrible to look at gro the other side of the table
I could definitely see that being the case but it’s more just about resolving the spells from the attack and it shouldn’t really turn into a continuous chain making long turns. Most of the time it’s random enough to move through the Kylox trigger pretty quick once you get some reps in with the deck 😁
I am disappointed from the title, I was expecting a deck that only contained spells using the fact that MDFCs are considered to only be spell cards while in the library.
While that would be hilarious, and I’m sorry to disappoint, I don’t think there are enough MDFCs to make an entire land base. Also I think it would kill the budget aspect if I tried 😂 but thank you for commenting

Exactly! It’s an epidemic at this point 😂 slapping Ward 2 at minimum anything that’s remotely powerful
Im planning to build kylox and this deck has been better than the higher budget lists out there
Thank you! This was a really fun build that had to undergo a lot of edits to get to this point. I’m glad to hear you enjoy it! 😁

I'm glad Kylox is getting the love he deserves
Such a fun commander 😁 definitely one of my favorite brews so far
The drake bit got me. Everytime we play a drake spell someone at the table goes "SIX SIx Six six six"
I knew that would be someone’s jam 😂 that’s a great table bit, we usually see someone play a 6/6 and say “scared of the six.” Thank you for commenting
Between "the Crow" reference and using beacon of tomorrows, I just had to like and subscribe. 😎
Thank you ☺️

It was a blast play testing it, so much power to be packed into a turn is crazy 😁 thank you for commenting

I'm just happy i found a deck that wants to run spirit bomb... i mean explosive singularity

@@TypicalGeminiMTG I'm fine with patience, don't worry. The longer I wait the more goodies get released for her, like kylox or Ill timed explosion
Sounds fun, I'm gonna try this out.

honestly fun to watch and the deck looks kinda bangin. Gonna stick around me thinks

Hmm. Would something like Young Pyromancer be worth it?
Depends on how aggressive your pod is but I don’t personally think he would be. If anything I would include a Storm-kiln artist 😁
I just finished a game with Kylox where I had 10 (TEN) extra turns on turn 6 😂
That’s insane! I love that Kylox can pull off such wacky things 😂
what extra turn spells do you use in your deck?

There isn't enough MDFCs for red/blue to make a mana base out of that. You'd have to be a 5 color deck(maybe 4) to make that work lol.
