This is premeditated murder. She left her young daughter alone in her crib, fully aware the child had no means of self care, while she went on a 10day vacation without interruption. Had she left her daughter in a more visible location, such as out in the street or elsewhere in the house there would have been a higher probability of the child being discovered which could have led to an early termination of her vacation. It's strange that for 10 days the father didn't ask or pick up the baby, or even the mother or father grandparents. They need to determine where her other daughter was located during the vacation trip--did the mother makes arrangements for her care, or did the daughter find someone to take her in, a neighbor, say. If so, why didn't that caretaker ask about the arrangements for the toddler? And while the mother was away, didn't those she was with ask her about her children, where they were, who was watching them? And where was the toddler's father? Doesn't he bear any of the responsibility? There needs to be more investigation of this nightmare. Too many unanswered questions.

I am not okay after hearing about this. I’m 33 weeks pregnant with my third baby and the thought of what that innocent baby girl went through at the hands of her egg donor brings me to tears in a split second. It’s too much to even fathom. There’s no doubt in my mind the neglect she endured in those 10 days was just a climax, having her for a mother I’m sure it had gone on in different or similar ways throughout her 16 months of life. God bless that Angel baby forever.

This is premeditated murder. She left her young daughter alone in her crib, fully aware the child had no means of self care, while she went on a 10day vacation without interruption. Had she left her daughter in a more visible location, such as out in the street or elsewhere in the house there would have been a higher probability of the child being discovered which could have led to an early termination of her vacation. Suggests deliberate understanding and acknowledgment of the consequences of her actions. RIP poor baby😢

The fact that she has the nerve to open her mouth and state that people did not know what she was going through in her life , with two children , crying and asking for forgiveness, a little late in the day for tears .Also why did she not reach out to her parents ? What about how her 16 month old baby was going through while alone with no food and water and unable to go to the bathroom , ask her that un court .
Its so weird that she thought the child would somehow survive. Why was she even shocked when she came home to a dead baby? Is she that stupid?

Anyone who has followed this case from the beginning can tell me the name of the baby's father? I've looked everywhere and can't find it. It's strange that for 10 days the father didn't ask or pick up the baby, or even the mother or father grandparents. I think that a child is a responsibility of the whole, criminally Kristel is responsible but the well-being of this baby was neglected by everyone around. Very sad, RIP

You'd wonder why a neighbor didn't hear constant crying & check if left alone again ! Call police for sake of this baby, known mother doing this before.

Just the thought of an innocent baby being abandoned and such a horrible death gives me feelings beyond words. All I wish is that the baby finds the peace and love of Christ in heaven. As for the mother, let them do to her what she did to her child 🙏
When my toddler even thinks I’m gone from house or leaving without him…the tears and pain in his eyes…couldn’t even imagine the torture and abandonment this baby went through.

I am completely heartbroken by this story.
My nephew‘s mother did the exact same thing. I don’t understand it. I could never “forget” or leave my child. Because of this, I will cry if my child doesn’t eat or skip a meal, because it is traumatizing to me. I don’t know how people can hear these kinds of stories and still do that to their child. I wish this judge would’ve sentenced my nephew’s mother. She got 20 years.
They need to determine where her other daughter was located during the vacation trip--did the mother makes arrangements for her care, or did the daughter find someone to take her in, a neighbor, say. If so, why didn't that caretaker ask about the arrangements for the toddler? And while the mother was away, didn't those she was with ask her about her children, where they were, who was watching them? And where was the toddler's father? Doesn't he bear any of the responsibility? There needs to be more investigation of this nightmare. Too many unanswered questions.
Tha father is another SOB. He lives in Ecuador and never takes care of the baby. He does some interviews to use this death to ask for a visa. The girl has her last name. Amaya lives in Ecuador, with her grandparents. That saves her.

@@Former_Pastorhow did you conclude that God didn’t “ help” this baby? Because she died? Now your argument implies that if there was a God, the baby would have been alive, right? Let’s assume there is no God, the law of cause and effect, if you live a child that young by themselves, they die.
Now also consider the other side: If there is a God and this God made this baby girl, then surely this God would have “helped” this suffering baby. But after helping (whatever that means) does it make sense for this God to leave this baby alive with her irresponsible mom? If you were “ this God”, would you have? If you did, who is to say what would happen in the future? How then does the irresponsible mom bear the consequences of her actions?
You see, you really have no way of proving whether this child was “helped” or not. But whatever is eating you up in your heart against God just jumped to the conclusion that God cannot help anyone. Let us not speak of things we do not understand.
