What she deserves, and what the law allows her to be sentenced are two different things. Blame your politicians for the penalties associated with these crimes, and the voters who voted for these politicians. Judges have sentencing guidelines per law.

However people DO get addicted wether it's from nefarious friendships or through prescription drugs after surgery. I really don't think Anyone would want THAT ! This judge needs to be put in prison & the DA for this ridiculous plea deal of dropping vehicular homicide to a misdemeanor. She murdered three children. That is vehicular homicide. Our judicial system is broken. It protects the criminals, and does nothing for the poor innocent victims that these drunk drivers murder.

Don’t blame the judge blame the voters and the politicians who enact the laws. Judges have to work with term limits on sentences per law.
The judge only hands down the sentences allowed by the laws that the government passes. Blame them.

Life is a bit much, let's not go overboard; it wasn't planned. Let's compromise at 30 years. Seriously, life should be reserved for the worst intentional crimes. A life sentence is worse than a death sentence in my opinion, so it should be for the worst criminals. But I do think a car is a dangerous weapon and one was used in this homicide and is no different than had she shot someone after taking the methadone. I don't see how that judge can sleep at night and hope the voters will take note of this next time his renewal comes up. Pay attention to who your judges are. Not all of them are appointed; they are elected and can be un-elected.

They work together and if judges are making the wrong decisions, they should be removed. Voters should be involved in ejecting unjust, unqualified, biased and corrupt judges.Judges should not be shielded or protected as though they are above the rest of us. I always thought, "Does this person have to kill someone before sentences get tougher?" In this case, she murdered THREE innocent children after a HISTORY of offenses. How does our justice system sleep at night? There should be a MASSIVE public outrage to this sentence!

We have the same shit in the UK. Some time back a kid with over 100 previous convictions for car related thefts passed 18 but still got community service. You cant make it up. At his last hearing the judge said he didnt need the clerk to read them ALL out.

As a mother myself, if I had even hurt my child because I was under the influence I would not beg for mercy. I would humbly take whatever sentence the judge granted, knowing I deserve it!

I stumbled on this court vid. This is a crock. On drugs she crashes car and kills her 3 children. Several drug related convictions before. This judge gives her min 2 years and max of 3. That's a crock.

I agree. She loved drugs more than she loved those boys. I was shocked when she called it "an accident". She had multiple occasions to stop, cry out for help and turn things around. What also shocked me is how she stopped sniffing and crying as soon as she heard the light sentence pronounced. Appalling.

It was an accident. She was on methadone. She was trying to get off opiates. That's what methadone is for.

I lost my children in a car accident. I know the pain this woman feels. I hope she learns from this. I’m also in recovery. I do not feel that addiction is an excuse for this behavior. She committed vehicular manslaughter. For these charges she should have been facing up to 15 years on each count. The court showed her children were of little value. If she had killed strangers she probably would have gotten a lot more time.

The judge needs to be removed from the bench by the state supreme court
It was not premeditated first degree murder. That’s why she didn’t get more time.
Was her actions reckless, irresponsible, and ultimately tragic? Yes.
But we have to look at things on a case by case basis. This one isn’t like the Susan Smith case where she intentionally drove her kids into the lake to kill them purposely

I came across this and I can’t believe she isn’t going to have to do life without parole. I just watched a video the other day where a 22 yr old man got put in a prison in Alabama for petty theft. This prison is known to have some of the worst ppl in it. He got a yr. Well 20 days before his release a gang was selling him out. He left prison but was sent to a hospital where he died from his injuries, his body was covered in bruises and he was brain dead. He left behind 2 young sons. That witch deserves the treatment that young man got and didn’t deserve 🤬 our justice system is a joke!!
As someone who is sober 11yrs, my boy went to live with his dad. I put alcohol before everyone and was very sick.
He is 19 today and lives with me, we have a beautiful relationship. He has shown me more grace than l deserve.
I still feel dreadfully guilty for not sending him to school, lying etc. My guilt will never subside, l cannot begin to imagine the life this woman faces. I feel terrible and was a angel compared to her.

A bit of well-intentioned advice - you MUST learn to forgive yourself. Do whatever it takes. You DO deserve the grace your son has shown you. Look at what you've accomplished - 11 years of recovery without a relapse, a son who is now getting the relationship he's always deserved, and a bright future ahead of you both. I speak from personal experience, dealing with a daughter who was in an identical situation and both she and her son are now completely different people. Hang in there, dear lady - you have every right to be proud of your accomplishments. I hope the woman in this video can come to terms with her mistakes some day and find peace in her life. It won't be easy.

Never again in my life I’m blessed I was safe and no one died I didn’t crash . I had my two babies my oldest son was at home with my father since he had school the following day and we sleep at 8pm . I had 0.138 alcohol . I was already at my distination I wanted to get Uber or have my father pick us up I parked my car for the reason I couldn’t drive anymore and cops were behind me while I was parked 😔😔 . This is so sad she does deserve 3 life sentences

People that use methadone know full well how long after dosing before they start to nod, it's like clockwork. And that's only after their dose, not including extra ones. She knew full well the danger she put her babies in. It wasn't her first time. She wants to brag that she "rehabbed" for her children but then again she also did her dose and bought and took more doses on top of it so that pretty much shoots down the whole point of "rehabbing".

The legal system needs a complete overhaul because it doesn’t make sense! She made a decision that killed three children, 3! But she received less time than others who have killed one, or no one at all. Theres always different circumstances that leads to the length of sentences, but there’s others who have no criminal background, who had to live in deplorable conditions when they were growing up yada yada yada, blah blah blah. But still received massively less amount of time than this one who is responsible for killing 3 children. It wasn’t an accident! She made the decision to take her children to illegally buy methadone, she made the decision to get behind the wheel after taking methadone. When someone chooses to drive high or drunk, it’s not a matter of if they will kill somebody, it’s a matter of when and how many. She lost children before because of her drug use, and she’s repeatedly made the decision to choose drugs over her children. 2-5 years, run concurrently is a “substantial” amount of time per the judge eh. 🙄

Wow that is a slap in the face to those kids. How this was charged as a misdemeanour is beyond me. She should have a life sentence. Everyone failed those kids and are continuing to do so.
