I read a comment on Quora yesterday from a mom: She said that she gave her daughter a notebook and she told her daughter that whenever she had questions she was too embarrassed to ask in person, she should write the question in a notebook and then give it to her mom. This way, the daughter doesn't have to stand in front of her mom and ask a question that might be embarrassing for her, and the mom said that she told her daughter she would read the questions at night and give her an answer the next day in the notebook. The mom said that this was great for her too because if her daughter were to ask a question that might upset her, she didn't want her daughter to see that expression of surprise, horror or perhaps some anger on her face. I think that's brilliant.
I haven’t heard this story but judging by this video it looks like it’s a pretty rural small farm town just guessing so I’m sure there was a lot of community pressure and her mother’s reaction or approval but also this was a very smart honor role “good” girl who was very young and probably had plans of going places and got it in her head that her life was over now cause she has a kid because that’s pretty normal. I don’t want the bulk of the blame on the mother because it’s squarely the girls fault.

How many kids in absolute pain would not call their mum? why was she so scared for anyone to find out about the baby despite carrying it to full terms? We’ve seen the girl’s reaction, the mom’s reaction, the doctor’s reaction, the responding police officer’s reaction, the cleaning lady who found the baby’s reaction (that poor lady)…and this woman has the NERVE to act like she didn’t know why the officers were at her doorstep. For those who don’t know, it was discovered that she was pregnant at a hospital, she then denied being pregnant and locked herself in a bathroom. She gave birth while locked in the bathroom for 20 minutes and staff were trying to get her out. Before leaving she smothered the newborn baby under a trash bag, the body was discovered while staff were cleaning blood out of the bathroom. She went back to her hospital room, where her mother was continued to deny being pregnant so that her mother couldn’t find out that she was sexually active, and the hospital staff confronted her along side a sheriff deputy that was called. Neither the girl or her mother took the situation as serious as it was, knowing the fact that she murdered her newborn child. This was all in a hospital, where she could have denied visitation from her parents and adopted out the child, but she killed her son in a bathroom and left his body alone in the trash. She is an adult, she was a mother, she went through nine months of pregnancy and hid it from her parents, and she killed the one thing that trusted her the most in the world. She took an entire lifetime from her own child. She doesn’t deserve sympathy.
You're completely correct. The only thing I'll add is mother definitely knew her daughter was pregnant. There's pictures 3 weeks before the murder of the girl at school with a baby bump clearly being pregnant. The mother lied and helped cover up the murder she should be charged as well.

The hospital violated privacy laws by announcing they found a dead baby in front of her mother without full evidence it was hers. Not that this is the issue the mother had an issue with but they didn’t seem like the type of place that would respect a safe haven drop off.

When my daughter came to me when she was 16 and told me she was pregnant I supported her. Even though she was scared. I knew deep down. I wasn't buying pads and tampons like usual. She was nauseous every day. And her moods changed. I gave her a little bit of time to tell me. My grandson just graduated from highschool and I am so proud of him.
I have a feeling her parents were not or would not have been supportive or they would have taken the kid from her which is why she never told her parents she was pregnant in the first place.

Not really, what if someone in the home had a gun ? I would not be comfortable as a cop not being able to see what was going on in the house. The cops had a legal right to enter the home wih a warrant in hand, and for their own safety.

@@matulich77 I was raised by my grandmother who was abusive- verbally and physically. I was constantly threatened about getting pregnant. I wasn't allowed to have boyfriends and the few I did try to have, were scared off or I just didn't bother because I could never go out with them anyway... She made pregnancy seem worse than death and was constantly calling me a slut etc... which was funny considering I had never been with anyone... she was just a hateful, vicious person... I would have been terrified to have been pregnant in that environment. This is the fault of the mother not providing her child proper unconditional love and equipping her with proper education. Because until an autopsy was done on the baby, there was technically no proof of an actual crime having occurred yet. Even the tampering with evidence charges wouldn’t have applied yet because it’s not “evidence” until there’s a crime established. They potentially could have charged her with mishandling a dead body, but it makes more sense to just complete the investigation first and obtain a complete arrest warrant from the prosecutor. That actually makes the judicial process much smoother than having it broken up into different affidavits etc.

She said that she gave her daughter a notebook and she told her daughter that whenever she had questions she was too embarrassed to ask in person, she should write the question in a notebook and then give it to her mom. This way, the daughter doesn't have to stand in front of her mom and ask a question that might be embarrassing for her, and the mom said that she told her daughter she would read the questions at night and give her an answer the next day in the notebook. The mom said that this was great for her too because if her daughter were to ask a question that might upset her, she didn't want her daughter to see that expression of surprise, horror or perhaps some anger on her face. I think that's brilliant.

Mother failed her daughter

For those who don’t know, it was discovered that she was pregnant at a hospital, she then denied being pregnant and locked herself in a bathroom. She gave birth while locked in the bathroom for 20 minutes and staff were trying to get her out. Before leaving she smothered the newborn baby under a trash bag, the body was discovered while staff were cleaning blood out of the bathroom. She went back to her hospital room, where her mother was continued to deny being pregnant so that her mother couldn’t find out that she was sexually active, and the hospital staff confronted her along side a sheriff deputy that was called. Neither the girl or her mother took the situation as serious as it was, knowing the fact that she murdered her newborn child.
This was all in a hospital, where she could have denied visitation from her parents and adopted out the child, but she killed her son in a bathroom and left his body alone in the trash. She is an adult, she was a mother, she went through nine months of pregnancy and hid it from her parents, and she killed the one thing that trusted her the most in the world. She took an entire lifetime from her own child. She doesn’t deserve sympathy.

When my daughter came to me when she was 16 and told me she was pregnant I supported her. Even though she was scared. I knew deep down. I wasn't buying pads and tampons like usual. She was nauseous every day. And her moods changed. I gave her a little bit of time to tell me.
My grandson just graduated from highschool and I am so proud of him.

I wasn't allowed to have boyfriends and the few I did try to have, were scared off or I just didn't bother because I could never go out with them anyway... She made pregnancy seem worse than death and was constantly calling me a slut etc... which was funny considering I had never been with anyone... she was just a hateful, vicious person... I would have been terrified to have been pregnant in that environment. This is the fault of the mother not providing her child proper unconditional love and equipping her with proper education. Because until an autopsy was done on the baby, there was technically no proof of an actual crime having occurred yet. Even the tampering with evidence charges wouldn’t have applied yet because it’s not “evidence” until there’s a crime established. They potentially could have charged her with mishandling a dead body, but it makes more sense to just complete the investigation first and obtain a complete arrest warrant from the prosecutor. That actually makes the judicial process much smoother than having it broken up into different affidavits etc.
