Headlight kit arrived yesterday, started on passenger light, and yes guess what happened, pulled the backing paper off and dropped the slippy film on the garage floor, knackered it so cannot fit it. So I contacted Aliath for replacement, guess what, Nick is sending me out a FREE OF CHARGE replacement. I offered to pay but he said free of charge, what a nice company and great service.
Thanks for the video. It took me around 30min and still got huge creases on the DRL part. I’ll re-try in an afternoon when weather is much warmer and park the car toward the sun.
Bugger it, ordered it.........I already tried the complicated shape front bumper, in my opinion do not bother, nearly impossible to fit for a non professional (and I used to run a sign company so am fairly good at applying vinyl.)
I have a feeling I will end up throwing it in the bin after getting in a right mess with it. But using the infrared heater on the headlight, made such a difference....my plan is to warm up the bumper first, which should make the PPF much softer.
All the info is in the video description. But.... the slip solution (5ml baby soap + 100ml water in a spray bottle) and tack solution (800ml water + 200ml alcohol in a spray bottle or just use warm water). However, for these small headlight pieces, just using clean (filtered or distilled) water will suffice.

That's very nice of him.
Interesting stuff and great demonstartion of fitting. Thank you
Great DIY fitting video. I am glad you are happy with the items that you purchased. 👍
Good idea to protect a car as much as possible due to the state of UK roads.

Warm it with a hair dryer or hot air gun and stretch it and it will flatten.
@@GoGreenAutos what temperature to set on the hot air gun wouldn’t damage the headlight. I had one at minimum 50c, didn’t do much.
Tried it myself, and I think the heat gun is a great idea ( or similar).
I'd probably wait until I get a stone chip and then seal it up with some epoxy resin to stop water from getting into the lens...
