    THANK you for the tip for trimming the counter top. I am rubbish at measuring and I’ve been really struggling with making things fit. Your little tip has just made it SO easy for my mathematically-challenged mind! I’m only 6 minutes in, so sure I will learn even more tricks from your video, but I wanted to express my gratitude right away. Thank you.

    27:33 I love the way you’re making it. It looks like a hutch made back in the 1700’s before they had a bunch of fancy tools and supplies. The imperfections make it look more realistic.

    I LOVED this tutorial Sharon!!! I'm on a fixed budget and this helped out financially more than you know! I have about three cereal boxes that are nearly empty, so I'm going to put the cereal into Mason jars in order to try this amazing method!! I did see Ara Bently use cardboard cereal boxes for shingles and siding on her Addams Family build...pretty darn clever too. 😁😊💖👌👍💖💚

      oh my goodness, thank you so much for sharing that. I totally understand the fixed budget thing. When I first ventured into this world of building it myself it was because I couldn't afford much. I have 3 kids, at that time I started into dollhouses I was on my own with 2 little ones and I wanted to give them a dollhouse but the prices were out of this world let alone getting furniture to put in one! So I built one and that became their most favorite thing they ever had. Those precious memories remain my driving force today. It always touches my heart to read a comment like yours, you made my day today, thank you!

    I just love you videos ( on both channels). I just finished making the tree stump mouse house for my daughter and I busy making the furniture. You have given me so many ideas!
    Unfortunately I can't paint anything as all the art shops are closed during lockdown but at least I can still make chipboard and do a little bit each day. It is keeping the blues away.

    Sharon your furniture is absolutely delightful! Each piece has such a rustic charm to it, as if Gnomey had lovingly handcrafted each one himself! I really love that it is all constructed out of recycled or inexpensive materials that are easy to obtain. I tend to go back and rematch and reread all of the loving comments. You have become an inspiration to so many people! I appreciate so much each video that you post❤️💜

    I made the hutch. It came really cute. I wish I had measured the miniature dishes I had I probably would of made it a little larger. And I must get the wax you used to hold them in place. I used gel dots but they are to thick. Thank you for sharing. You are amazing.

    Thank you for doing such a good job on your explanation. The last part that you were worried about at the top. My mother had a hutch and there was a quarter round at the same place you put your last little piece. So that is well with in keeping with the real thing. Thanks again can't wait to try this out.

    I found you when you were mentioned by Ara of Bentley House Minis. She was making a cardboard house and furniture for all of us who get out rarely or those who can’t get out because of COVID-19. Her furniture has weeby-wobby, curvy-q edges inside, just great for your wonderful creative creatures. Have never seen mentioned but I use ribbon as hinges and glue the hinge shapes on top of that.....just me.....I am to curious to not have Everything Open...lol.

    I love all your works! I feel bit intimidated to try doing them myself, but my tiny one wants a doll house... So i guess I'll have to gain courage and try crafting something myself! Are those furnitures suitable for Barbie dolls?

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks so much! I'm not a professional builder by any means so I believe you could totally follow along with this video and make the hutch without problems.
      No, this hutch and all my furniture pieces, would be much too small for a Barbie. In miniatures there's a way to tell the size by using a "scale". I don't actually use a scale, I go by eye and what will fit my own characters, but my pieces are close to the 1/12th scale. The Barbie scale is 1/6 which is also called the "Playscale"". The top 2 in this list explain it perfectly, it will help you in the future when looking for Barbie things online www.thesprucecrafts.com/dolls-house-and-miniatures-scale-2365457
