    My grandson and I made one for the log cabin we're building for his little brother for his Christmas gift this year, ...and it turned out great!! Our mushrooms were a bit "wonky" 😉...lol...but still charming!! Thank you for posting!!! 💖😊👌👍💚

    Goodness I wish i had a craft room! I would totally find/build/buy myself a dollhouse so I can create these cute little things that you make! 😀😀 Meanwhile I will continue to create using your crochet patterns! 😂

      yay!! Crochet takes up so much space too though, my goodness, yarn everywhere! But we do what we must so we can make stuff, lol I don't know how I managed the years I did without a craft room, wow, where did I put everything before?

    Hi Sharon - I realise this is from a while ago, but I hope my little ideas help someone out there :)
    Just a couple of my own tips - instead of using an emery board (the cardboard nail files break on me every time!) I realised that a metal nail file - like those you get in the little cheap nail care kits- are PERFECT!!!! I e been using one now for over two years - for everything! For cardboard, wood, my nails (well? 😂) and also for softening the sharp end of wire when it’s been twisted around something (it doesn’t actually damage the file 🤷🏼‍♀️) ALSO just yesterday I collected pine cones so I can thread some string lights ... I have a three year old grand daughter that lives craft but she couldn’t touch the pine cones.... until this Mummu just lightly dragged the metal file over the sides, softening the sharp points! Honesty it’s been my best tool yet... one side sadly seems to be peeling off or something but I think it was damaged somehow (maybe bent then bent back , before I got it... so now finally it’s peeling. That’s ok tho.... got another! 😂
    My other tip is if you’ve ever bought chip board letters for scrapbook or card making Er , did you keep the negative ... you know the sheet you pop the letters from?I’m currently using the left over chipboard I kept from 15 years ago (I used to scrapbook probably too much, when you start scrapping bands and stuff it’s time to move on imo 😂) it has many areas that are wide enough to cut the pieces from for this cute little Paper Rowe holder/shelf ! I just adore it!!!! Thanks again Sharon for a awesome tute xxxxwait
    Oh! Edit to add because I forgot..... I also use (and don’t laugh!) a foot file as a sander.... I have very dry thick skin in my heels so my husband bought me a “Scholl Electronic Foot Care System” (you can get them from pretty much anywhere, google to compare prices) I have used this on a few wood projects too 😶🤭😐 don’t tell hubby hahahhah (also I do change the little sanding piece - one for craft one for my feet 😂

      Yes, we do have too much time on our hands - chronic illness does that your life when it forces you to retire 30yrs earlier than planned. These little projects are a great distraction & help keep us sane imho.

    I discovered by accident a neat trick about poking holes through things.... us a new hard [never been wet] cheep sponge as your backer-board to stab your needle or awl through. Works well!

    Awesome video! Here is a tip when pushing a needle through something use an eraser. It will help keep your cardboard from bending and use a thimble upside down to help push it through to the eraser.

      I never gave it a thought until that first comment came in but now that I made one, it looks better, more suited to have a handmade one on the wall than a store bought one for sure. I love it so much. It's super cute and easy enough to make.

    18:25 I think I’m going to use a popsicle stick to apply the glue so I don’t put too much. It tends to come out of the bottle a bit thicker than needed and I feel I’d be cleaning up a lot of glue. Lol

    Fabulous! One hint ... put a piece of WAX paper between your project and weight (book) so n9 glue gets on the book.

    Your toothpick is wood, and card and paper comes from 🌳 trees🙃 just saying

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lol, indeed. The toothpick is optional the other materials are in their pre-wood state, but that would be a weird sort of title 😀
