    I've been watching your videos for a long time and am amazed at what you have created. I wish I was tiny enough to live there! I love how the accessories look, as if the gnomes actually had to forage in the woods for wood to build their furniture. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

    This little gnome wonderland you've got going is adorable! I never get tired of watching your tutorials, ever. I just began working in a dollhouse for myself and it's so fun. I'm ridiculously hooked now, and I dont think I'll ever stop. I'm not sure my dollhouse will ever be completed. I rearrange my furnishings and just enjoy myself. Some of the items I've built myself and some have been purchased. I love everything about miniatures. It's a worthwhile investment. I'm going to begin a house for my granddaughter who's turning 5 in March. I'm going with the Maileg mice furnishings and mice dolls. Are you familiar with the maileg series? If not, you should, they are really amazing. Thank you for sharing your creativity and ideas with the rest of us, I appreciate that! Stay safe and healthy in this coming new year....blessings to you and your family, ~Laura~

      it was forever, lol there's like 2 months between this project here on youtube and my last one. Way too long. I'm glad you think it looks magical! It didn't for a long tine.. I got "stumped" (no pun intended) on that tree that's attached to the bridge. Every time I walked into the craft room it bothered me, lol I was so happy when finally the stump emerged and looked a whole lot better! And now I got another idea for it, what to add on.. today I'll be working there and will update facebook as soon as I get it done. As always, thank you for the kind and encouraging comments, they really do mean a lot to me! Happy building :)

    This is lovely! Great I could make them for my 1:6th. Those little taps are great! The cupboard looks like wood. I am new to your channel so I don't know if you have seen the technique of layering cardstock and then coating it with thin superglue to make it really hard, like wood. I just thought I would mention it in case. If you want to see how it works there's a really nice lady who does miniatures called Heather Tracy (you can find her channel with her name) who is the person I saw doing it. It's amazing because a few layers of cardstock becomes really durable and long lasting. The checker board looks amazing! I love the whole building!

      thank you so much. It's been a journey, there were times I could not do much so I'm grateful for these days that I have the energy and the inspiration to do it. Please take your time, never feel as though you are wasting time, although, I know exactly what you mean and how that feels.
      Sometimes out bodies just need that rest. Sometimes what you see here on a video took me days and days to film because I was resting a lot in between clips. Once it's all together it looks as though I took on the world and my energy is endless but that's not the case.
      My life is different now, it's taking a lot for my brain to wrap around this new me. I don't ever want anyone to feel as though they aren't doing as much because that's not a good feeling.
      If you can, and only if you have the feeling or inspiration, build something small where you are resting. Anything, a mushroom even. I've done that while recuperating in a bed when my brain needed to do something.
      It depends on the day though, doesn't it, you have to make that call according to what your body needs.
      I wish you peace, strength and all the rest you need! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment when you do, it really means a lot to me. Lots of love!

    Lovely work, inspiring as always! Agree about foamboard, never got on with the stuff myself. Have been using a lot of 2mm thick greyboard of late, makes nice toybox proof buildings. For older kids 1.5mm would be fine. The 2mm stuff needs several passes with the craft knife to cut (and it does dull the blade quickly) but you get a nice clean edge.

    My hobby is Model Railroading, and I want to know if I can construct mountains and hills with aluminum foil. Years ago I had done all the usual modeling scenic features of Sculptamold, modeling clay, Hydrocal paper machet and any other good goopy mess I needed.
    I really like your system . And enjoy your videos very much.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      absolutely! I use it for hills and uneven parts myself. A mountain would be so cool. After you make the mountain, you can dig out caves too, if you want. That's how I build in rooms a lot of the times. Sounds like a lot of fun whet you have in mind!

      I am planning a 5 ft X 9 ft railway.
      My railway is based loosely on the Cheokree Brick Company. In North Carolina.
      There are parts of the railway that pass around and some times thru as in cuts. The hills probably won't be more than 6 to 10 inches high. With trees bushes shrubs grass weeds etc.
      Do u have ideas.

    A confused Englishwoman asks: Is tacky glue PVA glue?

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      any pva glue will work. Tacky glue is a stronger type of pva glue that grabs fast, I use Aleene's. Here's a blurb from google, "Tacky Glue. A PVA Glue (polyvinyl acetate white glue) with a thick, fast-grabbing formula that sticks to items on contact."
