Watching you and Metal Complex made me buy my first XM18. Went with the spanto. Now I’m looking at Spartans 😕. But I’ve decided next time Hinderer releases a no choil harpoon spanto I’m jumping all over it.
IMO, Spartan blades for the win in everything.I bought a Hinderer Fulltrack a couple months ago, and the handle screws stripped out. The Spartan is soooooo smooth to open. Wish I bought the SHF before the Fulltrack. Gonna sell the Fulltrack now
Great battle. I have found the in the secondary market the XM24 drops (they make more of them I guess) and the Spartan sells close retail. Funny thing, I practiced and got good at thumb stud deployment on my XM24. Then I bought a Demko AD20, at first I thought the detent was waaay soft, even maybe broken. Nope. I wasn’t skilled at thumbing the XM24, I had stopped noticing it freakin hurt. The AD20 is a joy. I still love my XM24, but for now the Demko is stealing all the pocket time. ,
Gonna write this before I forget. When you do you "Battles to the Death" I'd like to see a couple of little Swiss Army knives rush out to the table at the end, place the loser on a stretcher and carry him (or her) off screen. And before we get into it. I'm going to guess the Hinderer wins :p Cheers.
I agree with you about the XM24 price. It’s $100+ more for 0.5 inches over the 18; but the XM18 3 inch is the same price as the 3.5 for a half inch less, not to mention thinner titanium and blade stock. And this is coming from a guy that just bought the 18 3.5 and wants a 3 inch.
Another excellent video! I took your advice and checked out the “new” Knives Illustrated. Wow, what a difference! Well done. I subscribed to the digital edition
Coming from someone who doesn’t own either of these and the closest I have is a ZT0562 CF & a Real Steel S6 for comparison from what I can tell the Harsey wins hands down. Size, blade & looks. For someone who is out of the house most of the day I would carry the Harsey before I’d grab the Hinderer IMHO.
I've got an XM18 triway, left bearings in for about a week then its been PB all the way give it a week or 2 for them to break in and polish up, and it'll be the smoothest knife ever.
Two of my favorites right now. Just bought the XM 24 vintage and have a Spartan on the way. Thank you so much for this comparison. I am not copying you i promise. 🤣🤣💯
Is the quality of the Spartan really on par with Hinderer? I’ve heard mixed things about their finish work. I’ve never heard a bad thing about Hinderer’s and have owned several and they’ve all been flawless
@@TheModernNeanderthal I have a plague doctor and a xm-24, both are phenomenal. My harsey has the best action on PB washers I've ever felt. I run my xm-24 on Teflon. I love them both. There isn't a single fit and finish issue with the spartan, buy with confidence
3:50 dear metal complex, you can actually carry your XM-24
xm 24 is the best knife ever in my opinion, just got mine this week and it is perfection
SHF FTW

Spartan Harsey all day long. I DON'T like cutting edge robbery like on the XM-24
Spartan Harsey for the win, imho.
Great vid. SHF vs. Umnumzaan?
Don’t have an Umnumzaan

Any chance we could get a battle to the death between a Spartan and a CRK (inkosi)?
Harsey all the way! I mean can you feel that drop action! It’s amazing really I’m loving mine, and how it fits in the hand is on another level!!
I'v got a xm24 but i am Harsey curious so when the funds let me i am getting myself one.
I like the spartan knife. The other is nice but I can't stand that slot screw. They should use torx like the spartan.

Just bought a xm18 3.5, next I want a SHF special edition.

It's a limited edition, IDC I like carrying it...I love hearing that!

Have both, hands down Spartan harsey. It jus feels like a top of the line knife
Spartan wins
If you don't have a slippy in your hinderer collection have a look at the vintage. Really nice with walnut scales both sides
I love the Spartan but something about that 24....That lock side finish is gorgeous and I love that blade even if it is a bit on the chonky side.
I liked this comparison but I'm curious about the harsey vs CRK as I feel those might be more similar?? Thanks!
Not really. It's much larger than a CRK. Hence why this isn't VS the XM-18.
Now that's a battle of the Titans! Great video once again Slicey.
Nice way to kick the day off on my side of the pond 👍 great comparison, thanks 😄
Beast knife battle -- great VID💥💥

These two are. Can only go by what I have in front of me.
Slicey Dicey I’ll have to try one. I really want to find a Plague Doctor to commemorate 2020 lol.

Great comparison. I favor the Harsey, but both are amazing knives. Thank you for putting this together.
Finished art class, watch you
One of the best Battles so far, well done! 🇺🇲💪
My bad. Gotta stop drinking in the afternoon. Thanks Brian
Which one? They all work for me right now.
@@SliceyDicey I’m on Smokey mountain and SDSEK does not work.
Because it isn’t for Smokey Mountain. It’s for Southern Edge Knifeworks.
Like the Harsey better as well, but you just gave Metalcomplex an extra point in the race for the biggest Hinderer nut
