It happened to me once, in Guatemala... International Airport "La Aurora", 2009. We were leaving in a plane towards Panamá, it was raining, and the plane began to takeoff. Suddenly, the plane activated its airbreaks and shut down the engines, it began to slide on the runway... it felt violent. Once the plane stopped, on the runway, the pilot told us he felt a weak acceleration and a definite lack of speed. Even though his company obligated him to takeoff, he decided not to. We were taken to a hotel where we would wait for a place in other flights... We were later informed that indeed, they found a problem in the plane and it would be impossible for it to mantain flight. I don't know if this pilot is ever going to read this comment, but thank you for stopping and saving us all...

(They had never been apart for my GF's birthday, and my GF's sis didn't want the streak to end!) We landed in Paris to the surprise welcome of my girlfriend's sister, but things got really weird then for both me and my GF. My GF was in a jet lag sleep fog and thought we were back at JFK, since she had seen her sis there just not that long ago. She thought our flight had aborted while she slept, and we were missing the vacation! But wait! You get two stories for one! I was even more confused. I literally thought, "What?! We're back in JFK? I don't even remember my trip to Paris! How horrible. What a total wasted trip! I will never remember it!" Then, for good measure, my GF's sis tried to hug me and I spilled coffee on my brand new light-colored running shoes, permanently staining them. +Wolfie Its real, I can see the tiny vibrations on the camera. As a passenger travelling from time to time since childhood and playing simulators in parallel I would know its the real thing. Also check the link in the description, 2004 graphics and physics cannot mimic vibrations of the real thing. In short, don't take everything internet throws at you as reality. :) You have to cross reference a lot and look from multiple sources, glad this pilot is very experienced that he had put passenger safety in front of anything else. See you around mate. (I am hoping to enroll in a flying school in the future when I dealt with my weight problem @_@ aaand probably the costs per flight hour xD )
Always good to have the rejected takeoff before go speed. After that you have to treat it as an airborne emergency. I have no problem with rejected takeoffs.
just that the circle of the nose cowl and the shadow of the wing 'looking' to come together. instead of looking at the engine/nose cowl, concentrate for a while on the relative position of the winglet. nothing seems so wrong with the landing gear as to make the body go so low as to let the engine scrape.
The applied braking and the reverse thrusting caused the abrupt jolt. And the debris you saw came from the down exhaust cowling. We have seconds to make decisions, pilot did good. His initial ramp up of the engines was very slow. There was definitely issues before the take off...
The initial spool up is always slow. They hold thrust at around 50% for a few seconds typically to make sure the airflow is stable before increasing power, to reduce the chance of a compressor stall.
that's not the question. while it was safe to slow up something got the pilots attention. they are supposed to do what they can to preserve public safety.
This happened to me at Budapest airport about 8 weeks ago. But we were just about to leave the ground. Very strange and very lucky. The pilot had a message from Gatwick to reject the take off. We skidded for a while but stopped on the edge of the grass. Nobody screamed which surprised me. First one and hopefully only one! There was a problem with a part and they had to get it from Budapest and replace it. Waited for an hour and a half then were on our way after 2 hours. Some people were freaked out and left the flight. I was just glad that Gatwick were looking after us enough to stop us in time. Thats enough reassurance for me.
Happened to me many years ago in a Comet (it was that long ago!). The captain said one of the engines lost power during acceleration so the take off was aborted. We spent about 5 hours in the terminal while the engineers worked on the engine and then tested out the repairs.
Was on a small Air Canada jet that aborted takeoff from Philadelphia half way down the runway - pulled off and the pilot stopped and revved the engines till I thought the wings were going to shake off then in less than 5 minutes was back on the runway and took off like a missile. I cannot ever remember such a short take off! Nobody on the plane seemed concerned but I sure was.
Capt quite clearly says - “Remain seated” twice. Cabin crew then need to repeat it 3 more times. Those folks are too stupid to fly. Revoke Passports, Driving License and all CCards - a danger to themselves.
I was a United FA and it is protocol for us to repeat remain seated after the captain gives that instruction. The thing you don't want to hear is Easy Victor- Easy Victor. Then you would have heard the FAs yelling...Release seatbelts, get out leave everything!!
I am recently retired UAL 757 Captain. I am surprised that the captain did not make an announcement to the passengers when it was appropriate to do so. I would have. The rejected takeoff is something we practice religiously in Denver annually. A lot is going on during and after the abort. After all the procedures are followed and I am safely off the runway, I would have spent 10 seconds on the PA telling the passengers what happened, something to the effect, "Folks, this is the Captain. We rejected the takeoff because of a warning lite that came on during the takeoff. I will get back to you shortly. Please remain seated." I am sure the Captain did make an announcement later on, I am only saying that I would have made it sooner.
In addition to a warning "light" in the cockpit, I wonder if an engine failed to produced expected power? The take-off roll here seemed languid compared to other take-offs, especially for a 757 which has a slightly higher thrust rating / pound of aircraft than every other airliner.
I've been on a rejected takeoff before. Scared the heck out of me. Especially when we went right back around to the end of the runway for a second attempt. Captain said something about the engines not spooling up like they expected them to...
The last flight I got off (end of last year) people were standing up as soon as the wheels touched the ground. The cabin crew woman (who was in one of those fold out seats further up the cabin) was shouting to sit down and she was waving her arms around like a "wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man". The standing people didnt hear or see her... Eventually she gave up.... Fun fact.
Just an FYI the remain seater call is a standard call to the cabin crew from the flight deck. if there was a serious issue that may of strongly promoted an evacuation then the flight deck would of called attention at stations or something to that effect the crew would of then be ready and waiting at the doors to evacuate if the command was given to do so or they would wait until told to stand down.
So in the description it says that an alert came up that said high temperature and or pressure. It could have been the oil temperature and pressure. On takeoff, the pilot and first officer must check for “engine instruments green” which has to do with everything within the engine. So there actually was a potentially dangerous encounter and the choice to abort takeoff may have saved all the passengers’ lives
I was on a Continental Express EMB-145, IAH to MEM, when the captain rejected the take-off and slowed on the runway but didn't stop. He applied take-off power again and again rejected the take-off and used the next turn off the runway to return to the gate. He had a false indication that the spoilers had deployed. I was sitting behind the wing and they didn't but he didn't know that. Took about a half hour to replace a sending unit. Got to MEM and he had to reject the landing because of a truck on the runway. Interesting trip. But I gotta tell'ya -- I did love flying those EMB jets. Very quiet and comfortable.
@kristian svendsen. No need to utilize reverse trust; they weren't that far down the runway. Backing off the throttles and applying foot brakes is sufficient in a situation like this one.
Kudos to our pilots. They do a good job everyday and gets no praises for it. Keep up the good work pilots. I don't like to fly but I admire y'all dedication towards giving quality safe flight. Be safe. 😜🇧🇸
I would suspect a compressor surge. A partial loss of airflow on one blade of the compressor. It might not affect the thrust if there is still enough air, might not affect combustion but it can lead to less cooling air going through the engine causing pressure differences or higher temperatures. Just a guess though :)
It's United cabin crew procedure to repeat "Remain seated" after the initial announcement from the Captain following a Rejected Take-off. Nobody had to necessarily be getting up...
I can imagine that the call to remain seated is just to reassure the passengers. if they say nothing it might spread panic, by simply giving a “stand by” by the cockpit crew and repeating it by the FAs it reassures that everything is going controlled
Off subject, but the most annoying thing to me is how the overhead bins are used. They normally seat the rear passengers first which makes sense, but many of these assholes store there luggage in a bin toward the front of the plane rather than over their own seats. If I am sitting near the middle I find that ALL of the bins to the front of the cabin are already full, and I have to store mine in an overhead bin five or six rows from my seat toward the rear of the plane. These selfish people do this to gain an advantage when deplaning. They get up and walk to my row or further forward and retrieve their bags that are occupying someone else's overhear bin. Meanwhile I have to wait for these assholes to go by before I can walk back to get my luggage. GRRR....
😈 remove their bags from the bins, stick then in some still empty seats- guaranteed they'll be freaking out when they're not in the bins they left them, or are gate checked😈😇
I will have everyone know the nightmare rejected takeoffs can be. I fix KC-135s for the USAF and if there is a rejected takeoff we must change all 8 main landing gear tires and any brakes that may be bad. The nose tires will rarely have to be changed but it can happen too. So imagine changing 8 tires and possibly 2 brakes all because of a 30 second span.
Dreaded_Pegasus this reject occurred at or below the speed where a pilot would have applied brakes on a normal landing. The tires suffered no more wear than they would have on a landing and the brakes were barely used, so no new brakes or tires would have been necessary.
Tax dollars wasted, A simple inspection from ground maintenance would have made sure everything was in good order. If you shit in the bathroom do they remove the toilet and put in a new one in after every guest. I dont think. 40 years USAF... never heard of such a stupid thing. Forced landings...in remote locations... yeah It happens but not an aborted take off... you just roll back on down the runway and back to the gates.
Jason Thrills well we have technical orders to follow and these technical orders are there because of trial and error. The 135 is an old airframe and it is thought that it is best to change them then.
I find it amazing the fact that people have to be told over and over, time and time again, to remain seated. I have been on flights where people have actually stood up whilst plane is accelarating for take off. Staggering.
Let me know where you ever see runway lights in the center of a runway! The thump and jolt was the braking and rear thrusting to slow the plane back down to taxi speeds to exit off the runway safely.
You are aware there are such a thing as centerline lights on runways, right? Go watch just about ANY night landing video here on TH-cam, and tell us how many of those landings take place on runways without centerline lights
The pilot is the guy saying ‘Remain Seated Remain Seated’. This also tells the flight attendants that there isn’t an emergency. The flight attendants just repeat what he says, probably as they’re trained to. In other airlines you would hear it as ‘Flight Attendants to your Stations’ or something similar. At my airline it’s ‘Cabin Crew At Stations’.
Yes, well, but what better way to insure that you cash then to stand up while the plane is moving. Nobody knows at the time the plane is aborting the takeoff why it is aborting, and so who knows if its going to run into something, or stop suddenly for whatever reason. So yeah, stand up, just to make sure you go flying down the isle if something does occur. frigg'n idiots!
Same thing happened to me on my very first flight ever. An instrument issue. Eastern L1011, JFK to MCO. We sat at the gate for about an hour while they worked on it, and we were in the air and in Florida the same morning. In-Flight drinks were free, too! 😋🥤
I fly on those exact 757's every single week and have for 17 years. The engines were making the exact noise they always have. The large rattle was heavy braking when it was rejected.
anbooba yes you do. Unless full power is required, airliners generally use a lower power setting and in this case is measured by EPR (Engine Pressure Ratio).
In 2015 I had a rejected takeoff on United on the same runway on a 757-200 to EWR. We lost 50% of power on takeoff so all the TV, and lights went off and I assume so did some cockpit lights
The 757s have non dual scimitars meaning that only the top of the winglet gets something added to it, different from the 737s that have dual scimitar winglets.
StarAllianceMan: I flew on a SWA 737-700 in November that had the new dual scimitar winglets--I thought it was the new Max8 from the boarding area until the FA advised different. Do you know how long it takes for an upgrade like that?
that sound at 01:05 and the bump/shake three seconds later; was it some mechanical (say: landing gear) issue or maybe something on the runway (previous bird strike). would help if the date/time of the incident is mentioned in the upload and someone might then have some insights if they knew?
The ‘remain seated’ PA is from the flight deck to the flight attendants to tell them that an evacuation is not required. Other airlines have different calls but this is clearly UA’s one.
high oil pressure,,, I watched a video about that today, and in a perfectly good aircraft, the only reason for the oil pressure to rise above normal is when the oil is not hot enough.
In my experience its nearly always a bad sensor. In thousands of hours of flying I've never actually seen oil pressure outside the green arc except for the one full shutdown I had.
@@bgamelson so the copilot just new he was abounding the takeoff through telepathy? Or is what he said to the copilot? But your smarter i guess you know.
@@jeffgraham48 If you will watch the video, you will see that the engine cut happened just before the front tire blew out. The reason he aborted is a pressure sensor warning. The pilot was then talking to the tower explaining what had just happened and that he was aborting. He then got on the intercom and said "Please remain seated."
Takeoff speeds below, this 757 wasn’t moving much more than 60-75 mph. The speed brakes weren’t needed nor hard breaking. It was an easy, controlled stop. For the 757-200 (Assumes Rolls Royce RB211-535E4 engines but that's getting a bit technical!): Rotation (Liftoff) speed = 111 to 164 knots (128 to 189mph) depending on weight. Landing Reference speed (Vref) = 107 to 154 knots (123 to 177mph) depending on weight, although the Vref at MLW (Max Landing Weight) is 137 knots (158mph) For the 767-300: Rotation (Liftoff) speed = 122 to 165 knots (140 to 190mph) depending on weight. Landing Reference speed (Vref) = 122 to 173 knots (140 to 199mph) depending on weight, although the Vref at MLW (Max Landing Weight) is 144 knots (166mph) The above are all extremes of course, in reality the day-to-day figures will fall somewhere in between based on the length of the trip and fuel / passenger / cargo loads. Also landing above the MLW would only be in an situation of urgency / emergency. Takeoff and Landing distances are variable based on windspeed and direction, slope, runway condition, thrust used (t/o), outside air temperature, etc... Boeing have some performance graphs on their website for all their aircraft with regard to takeoff and landing distances. With MAX autobrake a 767-300 will stop in 1,300m when light up to 2,550m when heavy. A 757-200 would take between 1,450m when light (yes, more than the 767) up to 1,900m when heavy.
Jonny Sevent I was just making a guess also. It’s hard to tell the speed of an object as big as a 757 from so close up. You have nothing to compare with.

Once was a magical place
Over time it was lost
Price increased the cost
Now the fortune of the kingdom
Is locked up in its dungeon vaults
The castle floor lies in traps
With coiled wires set back
Decoyed by old cheese
Now the drawbridge has been lifted
As the millions they drop to their knees
They pay homage to a king
Whose dreams are buried in their minds
His tears are frozen stiff
Icicles drip from his eyes
The cold wind blows as it snows
On those who fight to get in
On heads that are small
Disillusioned as they enter
They're unaware what's behind castle walls
But now it's written in stone
The king has been overthrown by jesterly fools
And the power of the people
Shall come to believe they do rule
They pay homage to a king
Whose dreams are buried in their minds
His tears are frozen stiff
Icicles drip from his eyes
Welcome to the tragic kingdom
Cornfields of popcorn
Have yet to spring open
Have they lost their heads
Or are they just all blind mice
We've heard all their stories
One too many times
Hypnotized by fireflies
That glow in the dark
Midgets that disguise themselves
As tiny little dwarves
The parade that's electrical
It serves no real purpose
Just takes up a lot of juice
Just to impress us
They pay homage to a king
Whose dreams are buried in their minds

Oscar blue, I bet you're a lot of fun at parties
wgraham2410 no, he is the guy who tells a joke. Nobody gets it so he starts to explain, then is told it’s not funny.

"In the meanwhile, please remain seated and calm, or we'll drag you off the plane, and kill your dog."
"REMAIN SEATED ! ! "
Pilot : "oh ok, sorry"
Fariz Ghifari 😂😂😂
Wow! That was quite a video, glad it all turned out fine. Some great sound on that initial spool up though, and nice filming as well. Like from me!
This video is taken from a flight simulator cant you see. LOL
No, This is real footage.
Wolfie no this is obviously FS2004
Ahh damn you're right
+Wolfie Its real, I can see the tiny vibrations on the camera.
Gotta love the professionalism of flight crews, epic catch. Great filming!
Thats for sure, for such an experience, I expect that from flight crews. Thank you!
It's a flight simulator game you fucking moron
at 1:57, looks like the bottom of the engine is hitting the ground for a sec. Its an optical illusion.
I noticed that too!
just that the circle of the nose cowl and the shadow of the wing 'looking' to come together.
instead of looking at the engine/nose cowl, concentrate for a while on the relative position of the winglet. nothing seems so wrong with the landing gear as to make the body go so low as to let the engine scrape.
Nahhhhh its PHOTOSHOP NOT ENYTHING ELSE
I love watching these airplane videos from the comfort of my own bed!
Do you see the traffic at SFO at this time? Man, good luck joining that line again
that's not the question. while it was safe to slow up something got the pilots attention. they are supposed to do what they can to preserve public safety.
SFO sucks
That wasn't a rejected take-off...that was United's non-stop service from SFO to Burlingame.
Maybe even as far as Half moon bay?
One of the 757s with scimitars winglets! Great vid :D
You didn't see the propellers shadows when she was landing? 757's have propellers?
Please forgive me. I was trying to respond to another video and it changed while I was trying to respond. My bad!
Actually Scimitars are on the bottom of the wings, Those are just winglets
The engine sound starting at 0:40. Amazing. Love it.
When you're about to fly and then you fell asleep for 1 second and your plane landed. 1:05
This actually happened, was coming home from vacation, fell asleep before takeoff and woke up on Left Downwind from our destination
@@brianhume4743 wouldn't need if ppl wasn't that dumb...
Americans
I was a United FA and it is protocol for us to repeat remain seated after the captain gives that instruction. The thing you don't want to hear is Easy Victor- Easy Victor. Then you would have heard the FAs yelling...Release seatbelts, get out leave everything!!
"But my luggage, I have to get my luggage!"
Thank you for flying Remain Seated, we hope you had a pleasant journey.
😂 😂
1:17 the way he remained calm but focused 5 star pilot work
Yeap!!! 😂😂😂
I think that was the purser
I'm just glad that every one is safe, and i hope you got to your final destination safe and sound.
I'm imagining someone sleeping during takeoff and getting confused when everyone starts deboarding.
Hahahahahaa
No time for explanation everyone get worried if we will still continue "sorry Sir or Madam - get out of my way"
Thank you for the information in the description.
Excellent. I want this pilot everytime I fly. BRAVO.
In addition to a warning "light" in the cockpit, I wonder if an engine failed to produced expected power? The take-off roll here seemed languid compared to other take-offs, especially for a 757 which has a slightly higher thrust rating / pound of aircraft than every other airliner.
I think he means the "Duct leak"
I've been on a rejected takeoff before. Scared the heck out of me. Especially when we went right back around to the end of the runway for a second attempt. Captain said something about the engines not spooling up like they expected them to...
Drunken man: ohh! we reached the destination?
LMAO
LMFAO😂😂😂
I'm just marvelling at the glorious weather there.
That’s the man you want want operating your plane while flying
worst feeling in the world is knowing you wont be able to fly for a few more hours
Remain seated! Where could you possibly be going? Literally what are you thinking
Quick smoke lol 🤣🤣
I think he has to say that even when noone is standing up
The last flight I got off (end of last year) people were standing up as soon as the wheels touched the ground. The cabin crew woman (who was in one of those fold out seats further up the cabin) was shouting to sit down and she was waving her arms around like a "wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man". The standing people didnt hear or see her... Eventually she gave up.... Fun fact.
it means no evacuation, everything is still safe
Just an FYI the remain seater call is a standard call to the cabin crew from the flight deck. if there was a serious issue that may of strongly promoted an evacuation then the flight deck would of called attention at stations or something to that effect the crew would of then be ready and waiting at the doors to evacuate if the command was given to do so or they would wait until told to stand down.
The on-board washing machine has an unbalanced load.
Great filming. Love hearing those engines power up.
Interesting video, great footage! Lucky you for travelling on a 757 with scimitar winglets. Liked!
It doesnt have Scimitar Winglets, it just has normal Winglets - The Scimitar winglets are like the 737-max winglets
It's a scimitar. Not split scimitar like the NG and MAX have.
Those are not scimitar winglets.
They are scimitar winglets. They're just not split like those of the 737.
they are NOT scimitars, dude. If they are NOT split, they are called sharklets. Completely different. Get that through your thick bald head.
All I want to know is what kind of Camra is this. Looks so crystal ...
It’s cool seeing the huge line up
Guy in the back: "I disagree." 😒
@kristian svendsen. No need to utilize reverse trust; they weren't that far down the runway. Backing off the throttles and applying foot brakes is sufficient in a situation like this one.
1:08 That is called teleportation...
This is the JLR version aircraft. The pilot got a Bong and the display showed "Air Susp Inactive"
Kudos to our pilots. They do a good job everyday and gets no praises for it. Keep up the good work pilots. I don't like to fly but I admire y'all dedication towards giving quality safe flight. Be safe. 😜🇧🇸
People started thinking “ Oh my Gawd! We arrived to our in destination in one second” and started taking their overhead 💼
NOW that is some great weather to be flying in
Very good video of this RTO. Glad it turned out OK. Liked!
Thank you!
Yikes!...
Glad they caught the problem before takeoff!!
Stay safe ;-)
Remain seated, ring the bell for the next stop ✌🏼👍🏼 great video.
I would suspect a compressor surge. A partial loss of airflow on one blade of the compressor.
It might not affect the thrust if there is still enough air, might not affect combustion but it can lead to less cooling air going through the engine causing pressure differences or higher temperatures.
Just a guess though :)
Thanks for sharing your expertise... or not.
It's United cabin crew procedure to repeat "Remain seated" after the initial announcement from the Captain following a Rejected Take-off. Nobody had to necessarily be getting up...
Nobody: *not standing up*
Flight attendants: reMaIn seAtEd
I can imagine that the call to remain seated is just to reassure the passengers. if they say nothing it might spread panic, by simply giving a “stand by” by the cockpit crew and repeating it by the FAs it reassures that everything is going controlled
Was it my imagination or did something visibly happen in the engine in the video just before the pilot slowed down (like fluttering in the vanes)?
Very good call Captain. Its not like the check engine light on your car that you ignore for ever.
GRRR....
That's why I check in my bags and take in handbag as hand luggage.
Outlaw overhead bins!
Swinde stop flying coach lol no but for real I hate the cattle car too many people do dumb shit
😈 remove their bags from the bins, stick then in some still empty seats- guaranteed they'll be freaking out when they're not in the bins they left them, or are gate checked😈😇
Used to hang out and watch at the park in Millbrae. All kinds of interesting stuff at SFO.
Sounds like a fun job working on such a unique aircraft.. do you ever get to go for rides on them too?
Tax dollars wasted, A simple inspection from ground maintenance would have made sure everything was in good order. If you shit in the bathroom do they remove the toilet and put in a new one in after every guest. I dont think. 40 years USAF... never heard of such a stupid thing. Forced landings...in remote locations... yeah It happens but not an aborted take off... you just roll back on down the runway and back to the gates.
Matthew Ghali not yet, but it is pretty fun!
Jason Thrills well we have technical orders to follow and these technical orders are there because of trial and error. The 135 is an old airframe and it is thought that it is best to change them then.
Thank you for reminding me of Virgin America. What a great airline!
I find it amazing the fact that people have to be told over and over, time and time again, to remain seated. I have been on flights where people have actually stood up whilst plane is accelarating for take off. Staggering.
Yeah at that point I'm not going "remain seated" anymore. It's gonna be "sit yo ass down!"
There was a standing ovation, by the passengers, for those instant brakes... that explains all that 'remain seated'.
I did hear a bit of a bang sound when throttles were pulled back, and not from the tires hitting the runway center lights.
Almost sounded like compressor stall.
Let me know where you ever see runway lights in the center of a runway! The thump and jolt was the braking and rear thrusting to slow the plane back down to taxi speeds to exit off the runway safely.
You are aware there are such a thing as centerline lights on runways, right? Go watch just about ANY night landing video here on TH-cam, and tell us how many of those landings take place on runways without centerline lights
can you show me a video? I have never seen a landing with centre runway lights but just wanted to see it.
Good view of them, poor weather departure at night
th-cam.com/video/5wjoF8-Oaew/w-d-xo.html
The pilot is the guy saying ‘Remain Seated Remain Seated’. This also tells the flight attendants that there isn’t an emergency. The flight attendants just repeat what he says, probably as they’re trained to. In other airlines you would hear it as ‘Flight Attendants to your Stations’ or something similar. At my airline it’s ‘Cabin Crew At Stations’.
Pilot left his phone charger in the Admiral's club.
Gunther Ultrabolt Novacrunch 😂😂😂
I wonder if the flight attendents keep saying "remain seated" because that is protocol, or if they are saying it because people are trying to get up?
Some folks may think emergency evacuation procedures go in effect to quickly bail out
Wow a video that starts where it should. How refreshing.
I’ve rejected a few takeoffs myself. It’s something I mentally prepare for before I begin every takeoff.
Takeoffs don't handle rejection well and getting their feelings hurt :(
Remain seated
Aaron Devereaux 😂😂😂😂
I just need to grab my headphones from the bin real quick
Not easy to stay seated when ur about to cash out
Yes, well, but what better way to insure that you cash then to stand up while the plane is moving. Nobody knows at the time the plane is aborting the takeoff why it is aborting, and so who knows if its going to run into something, or stop suddenly for whatever reason. So yeah, stand up, just to make sure you go flying down the isle if something does occur. frigg'n idiots!
Wtf Oberyn Martell doing on here? 😂
Same thing happened to me on my very first flight ever. An instrument issue. Eastern L1011, JFK to MCO.
We sat at the gate for about an hour while they worked on it, and we were in the air and in Florida the same morning.
In-Flight drinks were free, too! 😋🥤
The engine sound was abnormal for the whole run.
interesting comment as I had the same thought as we were taking off. Keep in mind the flight was already delayed for 2 hours due to maintenance
Nothing abnormal about the sound of the engine, they were just at a lower EPR setting.
itzjoshhy19 It was very upnormal for a take off run. You don't take off woth a low EPR any way!!
Remain seated Callout 👍 great video
Excellent footage glad this turned out ok
Cheers!
In 2015 I had a rejected takeoff on United on the same runway on a 757-200 to EWR. We lost 50% of power on takeoff so all the TV, and lights went off and I assume so did some cockpit lights
Interesting
@@StarAllianceMan it was at a similar speed to this one
Wait a minute. That's 757 engine and it has scimitar winglets?
The 757s have non dual scimitars meaning that only the top of the winglet gets something added to it, different from the 737s that have dual scimitar winglets.
Are they upgrading
Yep. airlinegeeks.com/2016/10/27/united-moves-forward-with-757-split-scimitar-winglets-installation/
StarAllianceMan: I flew on a SWA 737-700 in November that had the new dual scimitar winglets--I thought it was the new Max8 from the boarding area until the FA advised different. Do you know how long it takes for an upgrade like that?
jrwxtx a week for experienced MRO.
that sound at 01:05 and the bump/shake three seconds later; was it some mechanical (say: landing gear) issue or maybe something on the runway (previous bird strike).
would help if the date/time of the incident is mentioned in the upload and someone might then have some insights if they knew?
Kudos to the Flight Crew...the Jet Engines refused to go "MAX POWER" from the engine noise I heard? Good Catch!
Wow, RTO so damn smooth on the 757. On the A320 it feels like hitting a brick wall.
They weren't at V1 yet so braked more smoothly ... didn't use full reverse
that one guy that took sleeping pills must be like “ohh what a nice flight”
That's a very nice looking SIM, well done .
@1:08 lol pranked
Pilot bamboozled
xD
HAHA YOU THOUGHT WE WOULD FLY HWHAHAHA WERE NOW GONNA TAXI TO MOTORWAY TO OUR DESTINATION
Flying is too expensive for us pls dont get mad
The ‘remain seated’ PA is from the flight deck to the flight attendants to tell them that an evacuation is not required. Other airlines have different calls but this is clearly UA’s one.
high oil pressure,,, I watched a video about that today, and in a perfectly good aircraft, the only reason for the oil pressure to rise above normal is when the oil is not hot enough.
Actually there are many more reasons why oil pressure can be high.
in a perfect condition aircraft?
In my experience its nearly always a bad sensor. In thousands of hours of flying I've never actually seen oil pressure outside the green arc except for the one full shutdown I had.
You know the game is this good when so many people think the footage is from a real plane.
Dieison Guisolfi this isn’t a damn game.
His reaction time was so fast it took a few seconds for his mind to call out takeoff aborted. Kind of pilot you want in your next plane ride.
He was talking to the tower.
@@bgamelson your gonna be right in your mind regardless. Idk don't care. Don't break people's balls in comments of a TH-cam video! Don't be 9!
@@bgamelson Pilots were BUSY.
Takeoff speeds below, this 757 wasn’t moving much more than 60-75 mph. The speed brakes weren’t needed nor hard breaking. It was an easy, controlled stop.
For the 757-200 (Assumes Rolls Royce RB211-535E4 engines but that's getting a bit technical!):
Rotation (Liftoff) speed = 111 to 164 knots (128 to 189mph) depending on weight.
Landing Reference speed (Vref) = 107 to 154 knots (123 to 177mph) depending on weight, although the Vref at MLW (Max Landing Weight) is 137 knots (158mph)
For the 767-300:
Rotation (Liftoff) speed = 122 to 165 knots (140 to 190mph) depending on weight.
Landing Reference speed (Vref) = 122 to 173 knots (140 to 199mph) depending on weight, although the Vref at MLW (Max Landing Weight) is 144 knots (166mph)
The above are all extremes of course, in reality the day-to-day figures will fall somewhere in between based on the length of the trip and fuel / passenger / cargo loads.
