How to Install EGR Truck Cab Spoiler

Hey guys. John here with RealTruck.com. Today, I want to show you how to install the EGR Rear Cab Spoiler onto this 2014 Chevy Silverado.
As you can see here, it comes with everything you need to get this on the truck, has your instruction manual, or sheet. You have your spoiler, and you also have your polyurethane sealant that you are going to use on it. The one thing that this doesn't come with that you will need is a caulking gun, so that you can actually use your sealant on this. I'll show you how to do that when we get to installing it.
We are going to put our tape up in here. Actually we are going to turn this around because we already have the mark on here. We have an idea where our center line is. So what we want is so our tape right about here, and then we are going to mark over. The easiest way to do that is to mark from the roof piece of your cab. This one is 48 and three quarters. So that means our center line is going to be about 24 and five-sixteenths. I'm going to mark on this tape, up here, at 24 and five-sixteenths. That puts our center right about here. We'll get our spoiler measured out now, so we can find the center line on it, so we can line up our marks, and so we know we have our spoiler centered on the back of the cab.
What we are going to do now is we are going to mark out our spoiler, where it's going to go. And we have four and a quarter. That means our center line is at 24 and an eighth. So that's right here. So we know we want to put our tape right in this area here. So what we will do is we will stick the tape on there, and then we will measure back out to 24 and an eighth. Then we will mark that. This is going to be our mark that's going to line up with the one on our cab, so that we know we have this centered.
Okay, once that's all done, the next thing we are going to do is we are going to turn this over. And we're going to do some work on our double-sided tape here. Right here in the center, we want to cut it. Then what we need to do is we need to peel back about two inches, well, not quite that much. Tape these ends down. Same thing on the top side over here.
The next thing we are going to do, once we have our tape all peeled, is we are going to put on our polyurethane sealant. And we need to take our end, and we need to cut this back, so that we have about quarter of an inch hole on here. Punch a hole in the end of our sealant and put a nozzle on here.

Is that 3rd brake like still accesible?
If ever decide to remove, will all that adhesive damage my paint?
Polyurethane is what they use to seal windshields, this is pretty much a permanent install, you try and take this off later on down the road you will almost certainly inflict some damage to the paint.
use goop brand shoe goo instead, it will hold as good but in my experience wont damage good paint when you remove it. I know what I would do for my truck. what you do to yours is up to you, and I'm not responsible.

It's Matte Black and can be painted. So, no it should not fade.

There would not be a difference in the spoilers. Bizon is actually going to be a private label of the EGR spoiler.

Unfortunately there isn't currently an option like this for your Chevy.

Can it be left unpainted?
These spoilers come in a Matte black finish. You are able to paint them if you choose to, otherwise you can leave them matte black.
Do you have some for tacoma 2017?
This specific spoiler we only have for the Tundra. Unfortunately we currently don't have anything for the Tacoma.
There needs to be one for the 3rd generation Tacoma's (2016, 17, 18). Their 3rd brake light has a known water leak issue. A spoiler may be a good way to keep the water deflecting away from those lights while adding a bit of customization to the truck. Beats the alternative of either getting the light replaced before it leaks which involves removal of the headliner or slathering silicone around the light housing.

Is it safe to go through the car wash once is installed?
You shouldn't have any problems going through the car wash once this product is installed. However, it might put added wear and tear on the spoiler that would otherwise be avoided if not using a car wash.

Why not remove the red tape cover all the way around? Doesn't make much sense. I'm going to peel that red tape cover off all the way run my bead and place it on there

MrCyborg1973 It is a old style coming back. We thought the same thing before adding it to our truck build. It actually adds a nice accent to the cab and helps dress up an area that there is really nothing else for.Thanks!

Aerodynamically and performance wise this spoiler does nothing! Unless you are going 150 mph or faster, and this would be the wrong one, performance might improve. And sense it's only plastic and adhesive it would fall off at that speed.Looks good though!
I went 190mph in my Ram 1500 and it kept the rear end snug to the road and I was able to achieve 22mpg at that speed. That was an improvement of over 21 mpg's!
@@flyingjoed I hope that is sarcasm. This spoiler will not "keep your rear end snug".

Trash.. no instruction to clean the roof with soap followed up by alchohol..wow...glue and sticky tape..couldn't of found a way to use the rear cab light hold down to secure???? This will be one cheap product I won't be buying.. would love to see feedback from 2yrs ago installs.

If you position it wrong , you don't get a 2nd chance. Once you get it where it needs to go, then remove all of the tape.
