This is some hidden knowledge type shit lol. Been on the Obsidian forums and people don't know how to link within the same page and are annoyed that anchors don't work. This is great, thank you!
Thanks for this. I had read about block-linking in the Obsidian documentation, but I couldn't figure it out. Watching you actually do it on screen made all the difference. Being able to connect various parts of single documents is very important to me.
I'm a later comer to the use of Obsedian.. or any type of these tools for this matter. And I have now racked up 100s of hours learning it. The reason that i am adding to the comment is to call out that you have a nice style in the way you explain features; i.e. not only you explain how they work, but also if/how you actually use them or if you don't. Thank you.
I was googling furiously to find this section. Thank you so much for showing the last part with !. It really helped a lot and it was one of the reasons I chose Obsidian based on the view tips and tricks videos, but finally had the chance to use it.
Extremely helpful, I’ve seen this video and Danny Hatcher and LYT, all very helpful, but it’s so hard to remember all these methods and nuances. Thanks again.
Thank you . This is helpful in creating a glossary page for my Class notes and using the ^ to target the term and definition block on the glossary page. It takes a bit of typing to rename the link text but is very helpful until there is a better way discovered.
Very helpful. Was trying to figure out how to show text of the block that I link to. The exclamation mark was a gem! Was using “|” symbol to paste same text.
Still super helpful! Making a timeline for our dnd campaign, and I've been marking how many days in-game our characters have been traveling. Sometimes the days roll over mid-sessions, so this'll be SUPER helpful in conjunction with the timeline plugin so I can pinpoint exactly when in my mess of notes things happen. Cheers!
that's so awesome, I've also tried using Obsidian and Notion for D&D and I think Obsidian is incredible for that purpose, there are some really cool plugins to get creative with. Best of luck and happy D&Ding hahaha
Thanks for your concise and clear explanations ! Just what I needed to understand how block referencing works in Obsidian, compared to Logseq, to integrate Obsidian in my workflow !
Hi Santi, thanks for sharing this information. I noticed you're using an on-screen display app for your keystroke. Can you please share the app? Thanks :)
Thanks, this is one of the themes i made, it's called "Reverie" and my other one is called "wasp" they are both available on the community themes, enjoy them
Came to find out about the things, grateful to you for this for sure. Do I want to pay for a 'course' from you? On the basis of this vid, no. You need to work on your presentation and script writing before you can be a 'teacher'. Every mouse move and click needs to be purposeful. This vid looks like you're winging it. And you have to remember what it was like not to know, so slow down describing key words, keypresses, etc. Add the info as a graphic in post. Don't make your students struggle with the vid having to replay or pause or change the playback speed up or down.
thanks for your feedback. I feel I've improved on this areas on newer videos. Still more room to improve, but would appreciate your feedback on newer videos if you have the chance
Hi Santi, I'm trying to do the same thing, but using bookmarked blocks instead. This would allow me to give titles to the blocks and also order them in folders. The only problem I am having is that I can't find a way to easily create a link to a bookmark. If I drag and drop a bookmark into a note, the link refers to the NOTE the bookmark refers to but not to the actual block. Do you have any idea how to work around that? (I hope I explained my idea clearly enough)
suppose i write this somewhere in a note to access heading 03 of file 1 [[file01#heading03]] then in preview mode it shows something like this : file 1->heading03 but what if I want it to look something like tis in preview mode : Click to Go there and when i click on " Click to go there " it takes me to heading 03 of file 1 how can i achieve this ???
Hey, sorry, it's hard to know what you mean exactly. I'd recommend asking in the obsidian forum forum.obsidian.md/ there you can add screenshots to show what you mean more clearly If you post it there, feel free to comment the link to it here, or tag me there as @santi so that I can take a look at it

Is there a way to link from the original quote to the note containing the block quote? Right now this is only linking the block quote back to the original.
I get you, I don't think it's currently possible. For cases like this I use logseq I have a course on it, if you want to check it out courses.santiyounger.com/p/logseq
make sure you are in preview mode when you click on the link. you can go in preview mode with ctrl e or cmd e (if you are in mac) or by clicking in the top right corner If that doesn't work make sure the block was created correctly, and you are in the latest version of obsidian in settings > About > Check For updates
with the latest Obsidian updates, it should only show up when you are editing that line. But apart from that there are no additional ways to hide it unfortunately
