I was half expecting to hear in the intro: "Great Unclean One. One that is unclean, greatly."
I don't like being too predictable
we are all lucky that there is no The Great Unclean Two
☠️ 🐴 🥊
Haha too funny!!
This and the Eldar Avatar were terrifying to see on the tabletop back in the old days.
My friend's Avatar and Wraithlord used to liquefy my bowels.
Thats funny, my GuO always underperformed. Remember when he went up against my friends salamander dread with 2wound left. Didn't do a single wound for 3turns and ended up being killed. This was 20 years ago and im still salty
@@Mikester88 it wasn't your GuOs fault, but your dice.
@@przemysawpietras8497 i refuse to accept it
Nothing was as terrifying is trying to glue metal Avatar's top knot...
All praise Great uncle Ian!!!
😂
I was looking for that comment 😂
That is his name from now on.
You know the name of the demon, he will now serve your will.
lol
babe wake up, miniscape made a new oldhammer chaos video
16:03 Pusfilled-Sputum-Sachs is an excellent law firm.
I heard of them, don't they work for corporate interest cases?
The Great Unclean One. Unclean One the Great.
Oldschool minis I grew up with, chill vibes and silly banger songs; Miniscape has it all! Another great vid
Thanks buddy
I had a death guard army back in the 3-4th edition. This great unclean one was my favourites back in the day!
Yes! More Nurgle. I'm sad that I could only upvote this once. I'm also sad that I don't own one of these. I do have a Bloodthirster from the same era, I wish I could trade it with somebody for one of these...
Chaos Daemons were the first 40k army I properly played in games, and I've always found them to be an exceptional fun, colourful force. I think some of the best pictures of 40k models "in action" are these hyper-colourful Daemon armies fighting alongside drab or muted CSM, or battling loyalist Space Marines or Imperial Guard - that blend of Medieval woodcut horror and gothic sci-fi is for me a great example of peak 40k aesthetics.
I luvs me a man wot knows the plural of codex is codices!
Im getting more and more into old metal warhammer, got a metal bloodthirster and metal flesh hounds These old metal daemons look so goofy yet cool.
Uncle Ian! 😂👍
I love this content, nice Nurgle detachment.❤😊
What a cool nostalgia trip
I have a rouge trader unclean one and it is a beautiful piece happy to see his younger model be painted so beautifully good job
Thank you, that's very kind. Yours is a great model too 😊
I do miss how in the old days chaos forces were a mix of warbands and legions, it not only reflected their non-uniform and chaotic style, it reflected them in stories, chaos marines are constantly following a lord and then betraying him for another lord, *chaos follows the strongest*
Yeah I like that narrative
This is my favourite sculpt of The Great Unclean One.
A lot of the others always looked a bit caricateurish to me, but this one looks overall terrifying.
Like something out of Todd McFarlane's Spawn comics.
Even when you are talking about the great unclean one your voice is the most calming, it is honey in my ears.
😍🥰🐝
Great video as always mate 😊 uncle Ian 😂
Such a cool model and an excellent paint job. There’s several little nurglings and plague flies and whatnot in the gellerpox infected kt box if you don’t mind modern plastic bits on the base of that classic.
Good idea
I swear that every time I am feeling down or having a bad day, you release another great video that always makes my day!
Thank you for this, and please keep up the great work! 👍
Pure coincidence but I am glad the videos help you 😁
Chin up mate. Hope your day picks up.👍
@@flamingdonut9456 Thank you! 👍
God, I love your videos and as a massive Chaos fan, it’s great to see this vintage models getting some love!
Best mini painting channel on TH-cam.. Songs are Mint!!
That plague marines unit looks perfect with its terrible and adorable Great, Great Unclean One. Congratulations!
Thank you
I used to have one of these! I had a Lord of Change, too. Man... They were a nightmare to assemble (and that's putting it lightly)
Great video! I really like the comedic segments you do as just like a nerd calling in I think it helps your channel stand out
Thank you
A friend of mine used to play chaos warriors back in the 7th whfb edition, Khorne mostly, one day we were looking at models in a shop and we saw these could be used for wh40k too, so he got two armies as one, with a few used chaos marines, meanwhile I was stuck with Empire and Imperial Guard, each painting session was like 2 units for him, half of an unit for me.
I remember to think Chaos was so spoiled because it was one of the most expensive armies to collect and GW was pushing people in that direction.
I lost contact with this friend until last year, turn out he sold the army and, since that thing that happened it locked us, he started to rebuild it, and I had his Khorne greater deamon, I gifted the thing to him last Christmas.
Absolutely terrible paintjob and no pinning we did back in the day
Now I have to paint mine......... Thank you
You're welcome
'I felt the model was painting me as much as I was painting it'
Too relatable!
Painted this model about 6 months ago for horus heresy. My grandmother had bought it for me 20 odd years ago and I thought it desered a refresh. Very near and dear to my heart
Truly one of the best channels on TH-cam!
Oh stop. I'm average at best. Thank you 😊
Great uncle Ian looks the business (love the name). Great choice on the green colour scheme. looks fantastic!
Thank you
Great video dude, what nostalgia!
Glad you enjoyed!
You are a very good singer, I also have a pile of shame composed of oop 2nd edition chaos marines, I may go black legion, wordbearers and alpha legion, but I love what you are doing with your chaos models, and many more people want to make 2nd/3rd edition armies and play those 90s warhammer games, cheers!!!
Thanks so much. Good luck with your project.
Not got time to watch this on my lunch break, but have a like and comment for the almighty algorithm in the meantime.... ❤
You are very kind ☺️ thank you
I still have this model (2002 re-vamp) of the Great Unclean One in my Chaos Undivided Armageddon Army (2nd - 8th Edition). And YES it is one "hefty" piece of Pewter when assembled and definitely out weighed the "all metal" Dreadnaughts from back in the day. Great video and paint job as always!
Thank you
Those old metal demons are iconic, and you did a great job! Cheers!
Thank you kindly!
Great Uncle Ian looks wonderful (I mean, awful, but wonderful) - the vivid innards bursting through the dark, leathery skin give it so much definition that I don't think the old Eavy Metal paint jobs of the same miniature achieved. I remember when this one (with its original face) made its debut, and I always felt while the sculpt may have improved it didn't capture the magic of the original, but you've given me a new appreciation for this model's quality.
"Great Uncle Ian Juan" 😄😄😄👍
What a spiffy addition to the hordes of Chaos.
The Outro Song is a banger. Appropriately for Nurgle, and JFK Jr, it has become an earworm.
The narration reminds me of the cosy Oliver Postgate animated shows of my distant youth; like Noggin the Nog and the Clangers.
I'm glad you enjoyed my questionable song
everything turned out great, it looks awesome. the one thing was the pommel of the sword, it needed that same wash as the hilt or something, it doesn't match the rest of the model. either way you did a much better job than i could have. love the prank calls and the song at the end, always so fun.
Chilled and educational; with your voice this is like wargaming asmr
Thank you 😊
god thats a cool model, i love the retro models so much.
😍
I love the older model's it's good to see something different
I was not disappointed 🎵 Great job! 👌
Yay, thank you!
I’m on holiday in Greece and this video is one of the highlights
Ha
I've taken a similar approach with my middlehammer Chaos marines - every unit is from a different legion. Great way to avoid getting bored on the same colour scheme, and if you or your opponent forget whether they're Forsaken Smashblades or Sphincterite Malefactorists you can just call them 'the pink lads' or 'the green fellas'. Much easier!
Looks fantastic! No I have to go and paint mine
Heresy ! Yes please
Very nicely done by the way 👏
Thank you
The phone call had me dying!
Fantastic stuff. Thank you very much for all of your work.
Thank you for your kind words
One thing i regret is not getting into warhammer when i was a teenager back in the day,i played with my friend who let me use his models, wasnt until i was in my 40s that i started collecting and painting minis.
Enjoyable fun as always. I aim to paint and have this on in the background but always just end up watching. :)
Thanks so much Drez. You are a valued regular viewer from early days and I greatly appreciate your attention to the channel. Hope you get round to the painting eventually 😁
the 2002 and 96 one is the same body. I remember i ordered the old head from GW back when you could order bits directly in the store. Fit perfectly
I miss mail order days when you could order bits
@@Miniscape-wh40k I know right! Me too 😩
Oh man, I feel your pain on the rust part. I have a squad of Plague Marines that I decided to paint completely rust. It was supposed to be their color scheme in itself - just unpainted rusty metal... And it HURTED. I spent half a day getting the rust to look realistic.
That’s a hefty chunk of metal
can't wait till slaanesh joins your 2e army, also the great unclean looks great
You know Slaanesh doesn't interest me much. I'll get some noise marines but other than that I can't promise anything. Sorry.
looks great!
Thank you
He looks so lonely without his little nephews. Poor Great Uncle Ian. Gruncle Ian.
It is true he prefers the company of his plague bearers, bearers of plague.
Your chaos videos are definitely my favorite! I’d love to see some Iron Warriors if you decide to add some heavy war machines. ❤
Maybe. I'll have to think about that. Glad you liked the chaos videos.
Great Uncle Ian here sitting comfortably on a 60mm base illustrates well the size creep models have undergone over the years. Used to be, a Greater Daemon wasn't that much larger than a lesser daemon. Now, they're massive, expensive centerpiece models. Appropriate for their stature in-lore, no doubt. But which leaves a massive size gap between the "normal" daemon models and their big heavies. I really wish the "Daemon Brute" models from Horus Heresy got a plastic release, and ported to 40K. That way, there'd be less of a "missing middle" problem with the army.
On the subject of the size disparity, I like to think Greater Daemons don't have a set scale. They're enormously powerful beings, extensions of the god they serve. They can't manifest the full breadth of their might in Realspace, simply due to the limitations of material reality. Their size, therefore, is checked by how strong the Warp is in the area. The more the Warp has a foothold, the more power the Greater Daemon can exert in the place. With the presence of bloodshed, disease, etc. being used as the lubricant to bring them through by their followers.
2nd edition battles tended to be small skirmishes, so the carnage is of a minimal scale. Hence, smaller Greater Daemons. Whereas later editions tend to involve much larger armies, themselves merely a cross-section of a wider battle going on around them. So the Greater Daemons can manifest much larger. Theoretically, if matters get truly dire, or if you're on a Daemon World, the Greater Daemons might appear as large as Titans.
The great unclean one. The one of unclean
Great Unclean One, One of the Greatest Uncleans!
Minisodes-Miniscape bromance...still a better love story than Twilight.
3:56 just restored and rebuilt my original one of these bloodthirsters, which I’m glad I got that particular face. The one that came after I always thought was a bit naff….
God I love this channel.
And it loves you Manda
I had the poster from the mail order trolls of this at the time. I was saving up to buy either the great unclean one or the khorne greater demon as it looked like the baddie from hero quest
If you're interested in losing what's left of your sanity and having a great time doing it, I highly recomend the demon creation rules in The Lost and the Damned.
finally the nurgle pred is on the way 😁
All hail Uncle Ian now! 🙏
So cool. 👍
Gosh, Uncle Ian really does need a bath, doesn't he?
Monstrous creatures like this really do make me glad I started in 3rd Edition, when my Sisters of Battle had Exorcist Tanks to deal with the really icky stuff.
Haha, purge with flames etc. Done any baking recently?
@Miniscape-wh40k just a blackberry cobbler. Haven't needed to bake any bread this week.
@@KattbirbSounds delicious
That model is one unclean great unclean one!
11:20 "Your puny missiles krak me up"
20:05 me: *sigh* time to bring that unpainted vehicle to the table.
Greetings and salutations! Always a pleasure although I must admit, Chaos Daemons were never really my cup of tea. Thank you, all the best, Billi.
how wonderfully bright and colorful grimdark used to be
It still can be
Great Uncle Ian, lmfao!!!! 😂😂😂😂
He looks very nice! Also you can pull off the tips of vallejo bottles so you can put the paint back in.
I know 😁 thanks
Love the army so far, now we just need some slaanesh representation possibly some noise marines :)
I'm working on the noise marines. They are hen's teeth rare.
The great unclean one, the one unclean of great.
YES
heh i do have that bloodthirster. i had plans on a chaos army in 2002
1:55 You could make 3,600 unique Realm of Chaos era Great Unclean Ones before building one with the exact same components. Also, the GUO you have is the 2003 re-release with alternative head - so technically 3rd edition - the original had horns.
Wow that is a lot
Top job,
I hope you get the chance to paint a Lord of Change! I'd love to see it.
I have one so it's just a matter of time
I mean the way the way to tell if it’s lead is if you lick it and it tastes sweet it’s lead
😬 I'd rather put it through a mass spectrometer 😂
Holy $#!+ at 4:07 this model is so cool
You can follow the creator on Instagram if you have it. His handle is in the bottom corner.
Never get a new microphone. Your voice is now nostalgia
☺️
Not many people know this but he’s called Great Unclean One because he was discovered by Uncle Arkhan Ian.
Not Great Uncle Arkan Ian?
I don’t make the rules.
I would love to see your take on 2nd edition Word Bearers
My ultramarines would not approve 😂
Ah the great one of the unclean
I double dog dare you to do up one of those old Goofy Movie-ass Bloodthirsters
Go on then 😂
Good sir! I implore you, please stop meddling with the dilution of Contrast paints. I fear every time you do we are brought closer to the brink. Please consider the safety of yourself and your fellows!
P.S. another outstanding song. Marvellous.
😂
lol I just bought a plush great unclean one today
What the hell?...is that "Skinrow Soul" from the Snoot Game sound track at 9:15? I knew I liked your videos, but you also turn out to be fellow dino enjoyer!
Nice!
It is not the tune you speak of merely coincidental. I have never heard of this game. Sorry.
@@Miniscape-wh40k Ah, okay. I must be mistaken. *wink*
Next video is there any chance you can say: "Well done Thomas, have a nice new coat of paint" 😂
But why?
@Miniscape-wh40k Your voice has the same chilled tone as Ringo Star when he narrated Thomas The Tank. Every one of your videos triggers a nostalgia moment at least once. It's class!
Sidenote, there's a mash up if ever I heard one, The Great Unclean Engine!
Ugh, I wish this existed as a plastic model from GW or at the very least a 3D printable model, but I can't find the latter anywhere 😢
cooooool
I had the cake.
The cake is a lie.
02:34 - Same, dude, same.... :-(
🤣
