Thank you for a great video. I have been sewing for close to 60 years making clothing, christening gowns and quilting but I have never seen this exceptional way of mitering corners. Wow, easy & perfect every time!🎉
Thank you great video , nice project for Christmas gifts. Fantastic video, easy to full because you did a wonderful job explaining it to all of us beginners.
I’ve been struggling with mitered corners for a while now, but this is a great way to achieve them! I’m on my 4th set of placemats for Christmas gifts! Thank you!
I gotta say … I’m kind of dazzled by this cherry fabric. 🍒 Thank you for this tutorial. I’d never seen this mitered corner method, and you explained it really well.
Matilda! That cherry fabric is my favorite. I keep buying more. I even turned it into curtains in my sewing room :) It is called Cherry Blossom by Robert Kaufman.
Can you please let us know the ruler you use to trim the corners?? I looked in your description post but it doesn’t seem to be the one you used for the corners…I like that one! Thank you!
I'm going to try and make placemat, as you show here, but can you please tell me the exact Batting you used. On the video you just stated it was a thin Batting, but can you give us the exact name
Hi Jamie, I use a cotton batting, the company warm and natural is a nice one: amzn.to/49c8lcd (affiliate link) Do NOT prewash the batting as it will turn into dough, but DO prewash the cotton fabric if you don't want the placemats to wrinkle up after the wash. However I am lazy and skip the prewash step so my placemats are always a bit wrinkled after the wash. Hope that helps!
Thank you for keeping it simple. Looking forward to trying this new technique.
