I was already in awe of Floor before Beste Zangers. After watching a few of these performances I was like, "Is this person even real? Surely no human being is this amazing, so talented and yet so humble and caring." But apparently she is real. :)
She is insane!!!
Floor doesn't speak Spanish. She learned this song phonetically, syllable by syllable, accent by accent. She also did all of this in ONE WEEK. That's how amazing this is. Also, the day after she performed this song, it was released as a single. It hit #1 in Peru and Chile, top 10 in Argentina, and top 20 everywhere else in Latin America.
Not bad for a Dutch lady who has never spoken a single word of Spanish in her life!
Yeah I work construction here in Florida and there's so many Spanish speakers on every site I'm on hell I have a Columbian and Puerto Rican on my crew and everytime I'm on a new site I crank this one up loud on my De Walt radio and love to watch the necks snap from heads turning so fast. Next they'll all come up to me and ask "who the hell is that?" Some of them even know Rolf Sanchez. The next day I crank it up loud again and you'll hear them all start whistling and giving me a thumbs up. When this song was released to the public it didn't take long for it to top the charts in South America lol. I think it only took a day to get to #1 in Peru

Fans chanted her name and she was still just filling in NOT a member of the band yet. When the show Beste Zangers aired shortly after the songs were made available on Spotify. That's how I have mine on my phone and have had them for about a year now 😄

Floor is always amazing but shout out to the band. They put together an awesome rock version with a nice guitar solo and do amazing on all the songs for Floor and the other guys.
This TV show was so much fun for the singers. You can see how much they enjoy it. After the show she was not unknown anymore in the Netherlands.

Floor had quiet a reputation in South-America even before she ever joined Nightwish. Just Watch the reaction of the audience to one of her first "Ghost love score" performances from Buenos Aires. It was used as the first official introduction for Floor as their (temporary) vocalist. Listen to what they are chanting at the end of the clip (th-cam.com/video/4V_eoR6r1Tw/w-d-xo.html) . When " Qué Se Siente" hit the internet hit, can you guess what happend there after it was released a day later? In the Peru it shot up to the number 1 spot straight away and climbed up the charts everywhere else in Latin America.

IIRC it was mentioned somewhere that Peru and Argentina were 1. spot on the charts. All the rest of the Latin America were at least top 20.
She turned a sunny summer breeze into a raging thunderstorm.
She wanted to do this not only for Rolf, but for her Spanish speaking fans. And, yes, the Marcel Fisser Band kicks ass every week on the show. Wisely, Floor chose to have the band back her up on her subsequent Dutch mini tour.
That's pretty cool, she seems really committed to her fans.
I love this version, Floor nailed it so hard.
And yes, that band deserves praise, they helped develop the songs and are the backbone to any performance on this show, top quality musicians to say the least.

as a native spanish speaker I can tell you that she sings with a better spanish that many latin singers. Thats impressive.
Classical singers often perform songs in the original language, so in certain corner of singer world learning the sounds that make text sound that language is a skill in itself.
You don't have to learn the language as such, but learn to make the sounds that define that language.
And well, she's performed in like five of six Indo-European languages at that point, I imagine it gets easier over time.
I don't believe she can speak Spanish, she learned these lyrics and maybe is practicing, but I don't think she speaks it. Which is more impressive to me. She can speak Dutch, English, Swedish, and some Finnish. She's just incredible! Great reaction!

The Marcel Fischer Band is really good indeed. This band can switch from music style for all those vocalists as quickly as Floor does change between genres.
This MFB arranged daily 6 different songs in 6 different genres for 6 different singers within only one afternoon rehearsal time, and continues that for 8 days in a row. And let each and every singer shine on stage. Great band. ❤️

She Foored her fellow singers, who are all very good too, and nailed this song in the Floor way. She does it all from symphonic metal to small sung ballads.
I have been following Floor since 2002, but this show came as a complete surprise to me in 2019 .. We have already had this rollercoaster, but can certainly enjoy your reactions again.

She has been singing in Finnish and Swedish too. I think this show was the first time she ever sang I her own language and that was the song Mama. She sang in Finnish at the Heavy Christmas show in Finland, O Holy Night and she sang flawless Finnish.

Henk's word about metal are pure gold - Floor and Henk became close friends during the TV-show and they still are. I really do hope that they have something cooking in the oven in Floor's upcoming solo stuff.
In the solo shows Floor did afterwards, Henk is doing different songs, including one of the Floor's old metal songs, together with Floor - and that was really amazing. The complement each other so well - and I expect or hope, on the 2 upcoming Nightwish shows in the Netherlands, where Henk is guest star, that they will do more than "just" Phantom of the Opera. Henk is telling more and more often that he is open to any kind of music, as long as it is good music - and everything Floor performs are outstanding - so fingers crossed 🤞

No, she doesn't speak Spanish but she did learn enough to get pronunciations correct. This is another example of why us Floor-fans say she is the most versatile singer out there today. And there is more to come...some really mind blowing performances. I do encourage you to do them in the order they were done on the show.

For me, Floor is on a par with Withney Houston and Madonna. If you take her diversity of voice into account, she should be even higher. I can't understand why Floor isn't a world star. And she would be a real role model. Warm, down to earth, hardworking, no escapades and completely natural.

Actually, there is one thing she really cannot do: singing bad. Even if she would try to butcher a song on purpose, she would fail. So there you have one thing Floor cannot do.

Floor is not the only one on that show who can make people cry. I would suggest Emma and Henk as possible canidates for other reactions. I'm Canadian, so we all had to take French all through school. Only it wasn't the language of Quebec, which is various forms of Joual. No, we were made to learn the EXCRUCIATINGLY correct old fashioned overly grammatical and awkward Parisian French. I hated it, it was the bane of my existence all through school. I also took a semester of Spanish, and a semester of German, and LOVED it!
She tries all kinds of music. Her forays into doing opera pieces are jaw dropping!

I highly suggest you go through the motions and do reactions to the Songs that Henk Poort did aswell. The man is absolute classic Gentleman both in style and performance. Similar approach towards the craft like Floor, in regards to serving the song and doing whats best how to present and perform it. Love Henk.

Fun fact: Floor is not particularly interested in music until she is 15. She wants to do something with animals later and study biology or something. The music teacher at her school decides to put on a musical with her class. The parents are happy that their child is disguised as a tree on the show stage or that it doesn't squeak as badly as the other children when singing. But Floor doesn't squeak. Around this time she brought the doom metal band The Gathering to metal (th-cam.com/video/1HUMwinV2AQ/w-d-xo.html). Nightwish released their debut album a year later and Floor was thrilled. The death metal band After Forever is just as enthusiastic and now decides to do Symphonic as well. Floor becomes her new singer.

some advice for videos like mama getting blocked - from what i've heard it's the TV company Avrotros that's copyright claiming all the videos, but apparently if you can find a way to cover up the avrotros symbol on the video they dont always claim it, or failing that what ive seen many reactors do is put a transparency filter on the video, makes it a lot harder for the youtube algorithm bots to pick it up!
@jenniezelf a transparency filter, so the video almost looks faded, sort of half invisible, people watching it can still make it out but its less likely to get flagged by bots. Also there is something you can put in the video/description something about under law X of the X act people are permitted to show footage for commercial enjoyment, all rights belong to respective owners etc. Works for half life sistah
