Actually, Ulthane didn't have Strife's gun, he made a replica one for War, which based on "Mercy" Strife left gun. Although he gives his right one to the maker.
The one Ulthane gives to War is a copy and the one Death receives is the real thing, if DS 4 is made it’ll probably cover how Strife ended up losing his gun in the Makers world
What i love is how all the horsemen ended up being the opposite of their titles. War brought peace. Death brought life. Fury was a protector. Strife was a guardian.
Looking at this in typical gaming experience War is a tank Death is an assassin Fury is a mage And strife is a sharpshooter And each representing the purest of personalities that fit their niches Gunfire’s clearly took their time on this series
I never expected strife to be the wise one.he understands humanity’s struggle better than any of his brothers, cause he relates to them and that’s amazing.
the perfect zone we’ll just have to wait and see his story in Darksiders 4 and then the final chapter Darksiders 5 and this time online coop and select a horseman to play as will happen
I don't think he did because in the beginning of the game council says strife is busy on an another mission while death is missing(darksiders2) and war is chained so it's up to fury to take the task
She Probably thought Ulthane just made another set of copies for the seeming mortal. After all, War and Death Both Wielded Strife's Guns, Death Wielding Mercy, and Death Wielding both Mercy and Retribution.
Not to mention that we as the viewer, never see Strife show his guns, until he lifted them to the Camera to fire the shots that reveal who he truly is.
@@Victor-056 Ulthane said that the gun War wielded was a replica and not as strong as the real deal. The one Death used was real however. But who knows what Strife was planning when he gave up Redemption to Death.

Strife is In my opinion the most mysterious horseman. We learn little about him only for him to hide in plain site providing his own guns to the horseman and saving his sister while giving her sage advice. I really hope they make a 4th with him as the lead
War, Death, and Fury have all been melee based. That's kinda been the basis of the combat in the series. If there's a 4th game with strife, I wonder how combat will be, since he seems to be mostly centered around guns.
Im honestly hoping he has like a special weapon besides the guns. Story wise he loses both of the guns if im not mistaken. One is wielded by war and the other wielded by death
Fareez Bazly I adored his voice in the illusion though! His human voice is just a typical black dude. His Nephillim voice is unique, just like War's and Death's, and it should be. (Yes I know they're both voiced by Phil Lamarr, so props to his talent)
@@TheAngryHumster honestly if we get 5th game, i hope it kinda like separate story for each horsemen, somehow not long after all horsemen reunited they go to different path, and from there, we will get each own story like resident evil 6, the horsemen will crosspath of some point but not always
This was such a cool ending. Not only did they show Strife and give us an idea of where he has been and what he has been doing, they also left us with so much curiosity as to what journey led him to that point. I love that they gave us more answers as to what the deeper plot is about. I also love that it ends with a sense of desperation for mankind. I am so damn curious to learn where mankind was transported to and what will become of them. Will they evolve or transcend somehow into something that even the 4 horsemen shouldn't mess with? God, I cannot wait for Darksiders 4!
The guns mercy and redemption were found by death and war and were told they were found. What if strife does die here and when war broke the seal it brought him back
Its probably like that.this is all happening while war is still in chains.also strifes story happens before war release and deaths journey.cant wait to see strifes side of events
Tarush Singh basically thats what im thinking. I havent played the game but i think Fury and strife has also sacrificed themselves like what Deat did in DS2. Thus War breaking the seal, summoning them back. Then after playing as strife in DS4 we’ll have DS5 with a 4 way multiplayer playing all the horsemen
I remember when I 1st saw this scene. When I 1st saw strife in his disguise holding those guns and shooting I was like,"wait a minute, those guns, is that..?" And then the scene changed and I saw the big reveal and I was like, "Yes!!!!" It was really a very good scene.
Has anybody else noticed that the two guns that strife uses are also in the previous games, war was given mercy and death was given redemption. My theory is that strife died fighting the destroyer and his armies but soon was resurrected when uriel broke the seventh seal.
Finally, Strife is here. My favorite horseman is Death, but it will be fun to play with the Agent of Hell in the next game. Also, don't forget to play/buy this one, so that we can get the 4th. Seems almost every fan wants to play with Strife. :D Well, I think in the end of his game he will die and his pistols will be taken by the Makers in honor of his sacrifice. He was disguised (yes, he has the power to turn into something else, cool :D) because he knew that the Council would betray him and his siblings. He played it insanely smart - stood and protected the humans, whilst he also gave advice to his sister and saved her. His sister, who in a typically woman-ish way, lost hope (please ladies, don't get insulted :D). Seems he is not like War and Death, who always take things seriously and don't fool around with jokes. Strife looks to be gentle, calm and in harmony with himself. War would be angry, Death would say nothing at all because of his typical cold temper, whilst looks like Strife is the funny one and the nice guy of the group. The 4th game will probably start with him smashing some demon heads (he enjoys that, check the comics :D). Sadly, however, he may die in the end, as Samael said to Death: "Sometimes the hero dies in the end. Ask your brother". I think the ending set Strife perfectly up for his own game - we saw what Fury was at the beginning, in the end she was something completely different. She understood her role, whilst Strife knew his all the time. That's why he revealed himself in the end, not earlier, because he wanted his sister to find out who she truly is and what she really fights for. Clever from his part. Fury and Strife love each other, they are twins, and it was not a random case that he was the last familiar face she saw before she teleported away. Nice from THQ and Gunfire Games, the showed us that ALL horsemen care for humanity. :)
Very good comment, lots of interesting ideas, I very much hope to see a storyline like that and hopefully it will see enough success for us to get another game after that with all four of them. I have one beef with what you wrote though. It's kinda hard to not take offense, when you describe the loss of hope as a typically female trait... Asking people to not get insulted when you insult them is somewhat dumb in a typically man-ish way (please guys, don't get insulted ;) ). See what I mean ? :P Anyways have a great night mate.
Here's the thing, we know that the horsemen are resurrected when the 7th seal is broken, as evidenced by War at the end of the first game and the other three apparently crashing into the earth at the end of that game. Just like it said at the end of Darksiders 2, and the number of the riders, shall ever be, four.
I think the quote from Samael to Death about his brother being dead was in reference to War. Because Death's game time frame was when War lost the first part of the game, was gone for like 100 years. Then with Death's sacrifice at the end, that is what brought War back to life (during the first Darksiders). He could have been referencing Strife, but I think it was referencing War
So, will the Horsemen of the Apocalypse be the ones that destroy all of heaven, hell and even the charred council and uphold a new balance to the world and meet the mysterious more mysterious than Lucifer himself the creator?
Have to admit, I was surprised to see him. I knew the black guy special and was hiding something but never thought he could be strife. Loved this scene.
The ending where the music is playing at the background is seriously a nice touch & a beautiful way to end this game ! And tbh, Fury’s character development is the most powerful growth ever, the fact that she has learnt to Calm herself down, take things slow & not rush onto anything head first is definitely worth seeing. Cos in the end, Fury still holds alot of respect for her brothers
I think darksiders 4 will have its opening when strife fights the demon horde with the makers and show of hands who guessed it was strife when they saw the dual hand guns
I absolutely love Fury’s story and character growth. It’s pleasurable to watch. She’s really tough but you can tell she cares a lot. I like how this game kinda sends a pro humanity, mankind positive message. Unlike other media always bashing on humanity
It's crazy to think how many subtle easter eggs there was in this game. In Darksiders 2's DLC, a human was fooled into giving the location of the last human enclave which lead (or as he sees it) to their extermination. The Sins kept The Destroyer (Abaddon) at bay and with their elimination he was able to achieve dominance which War had to solve.
and that is why Death was sent to destroy the corruption and restore humanity in the veil of soul. All that is left now is Strife to take down the Dark Prince himself and the council in D4
@@spore4893 I think it probably all 4 together take down the Dark Prince, if u remember in DS1 when the Horsemen Seal was broken by Uriel, and the end War say Not alone, all others 3 was revive so Strife probably have his own story in DS4 (hopefully it will happen) was sacrifice or killed for humanity somewhat like Death or Fury here
I remember when I finished this game, then Strife appeared like a wise man. I loved it, but after Darksiders Genesis? LOL, he just trolls everyone, apparently.
Here is my Theory: Strife, like Death, will die at the end of Darksiders 4, unless his solo game is skipped altogether. It is possible because the same thing has happened to Death in his own solo game. Here is my reasoning. In Darksiders 1, War is given Mercy from the hands of Ulthane (a Maker), who was another member of Haven alongside Strife's disguised form. In Darksiders 2, Death is given Redemption from a different Maker (can't remember her name) in the Maker's Forge. And guess who was in that exact same Makers Forge? Thane. (I assume Thane is a family member of Ulthane) In Darksiders 3, we see Strife and the Makers stay behind to buy Fury some time to safeguard the humans. We knew it was a losing battle from the start, but what if everyone (including Strife) died except for Ulthane (who was present in future games) thanks to the destroyer sparing him for his aid in creating the Armageddon Blade. Lets say Ulthane remained stranded on Earth in isolation until we see him again in Darksiders 1, where he gave Strife's gun to War. Maybe, like Fury, Strife asked Ulthane to aid War because he was innocent (lets not forget that Ulthane knows damn well that War is innocent). I don't really know if this is what the writers have in mind...but that's just a theory..
DaBlackBlur57 That makes sense. Uriel eventually saves everyone when she completes her oath in the first game. Once the 7th seal was broken the four horsemen were revived and summoned to punish those responsible for bringing the end war. Which will lead to darksiders 5.
My theory is that strife was the first of the horsemen to discover the council's betrayal, and that's why he was laying low all this time, he would've saved humanity and defeated the seven deadly, but doing so would reveal him to the council
I've always had a good feeling about strife, through the comic and in other lore sources he may be my favourite of the four, plus those guns though they look good and he's appearence is my favourite also lol
I have an idea! Since they made a video game of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES, Why don't they make a video game of all of the 4 horsemen basically replacing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kinda like an updated version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
It took me awhile. But I kinda like how they develop her character. Even furthers the concept how vulnerable Horseman can be. We seen this with War and Death. But Fury has it even worse. I wonder how much Strife had to endure in his journey
Assuming he's not a black nephillim (even black angels exists in this game LMAO!) and just in disguise, why did he choose to be black? Simple. His disguise needs to be as convincing as possible and in the current situation of mankind in this game, which race will fit and will blend in the most?
@@wilcals5294 Why would blacks blend in the most? They're a minority compared to whites, and usually live shorter and less healthy lives already. Realistically in say 1/10 it makes less sense for there to be a black man than a white man.
He blends in effortlessly because his appearance already tells it all. In human history no other race can better represent poverty, hunger and suffering. Even us viewers/playes didn't expect him to be strife until that last scene atleast. Still, he being a BLACK nephilim is still possible because like i said, ..black angels. Prolly the reason why he wears that mask. lol.
@@wilcals5294 I think him being black while underneath being a godlike being shows perfectly that the poverty and suffering blacks face is a lie. Every race has suffered, just as loads of individuals suffer. You think Morgan Freeman or Denzel Washington, or really any black rapper suffers because of their color? If you don't take care of yourself, you suffer. Simple as that. That is NOT what Jones/Strife represents dude. He represents the exact opposite - that through no fault of their own humanity now suffers.
Strife probably "died" here but saved the makers. That's why they have both of his guns. One for war and the other for death. They'll give them back once he's resurrected by the 7th seal.
The sad part is Darksiders 4 will probably be about what and why Strife’s been hanging around protecting the few remaining survivors directly. Also, how he loses Mercy and it goes to War in his adventure. Pretty much means 4 is still a prequel/interquel(2’s Redemption is a Maker copy). So we have to wait for Darksiders 5 to, hopefully, play as all the horsemen... and FINALLY move the plot forward. Believe it or not, im hyped as hell for it.
I love how strife is the most normal out of the four horsemen and speaks like a modren human because he ls not blinded and lives with and cares about humanity because he's amazed that they still fight on
True it would be nice to have dante but strife gives of a more mature and wise like feeling cause of his experience with humanity so samurai jacks vice matches

@@jaronmeshileichenbaum9934 idiot anyone can do a black guy voice just look at morrison from dmc 5 who is voiced by an white guy and troy baker who voiced jazz with an black dude accent
Theres a certain bitter sweetness to this ending. When the Destroyer comes into view and unleashes his army, the sad violin solo, its like watching all the Jedi get taken out at the end of Revenge of the Sith. You know it has to happen this way, you know this is how the story goes. The darkness before the light. Fury matured a great deal as a character over the course of the story. She starts off so bitter, so full of rage she doesn't know what to do with it. Her horse murdered, betrayed by everyone, even the charred council and her watcher, she learns a lot of hard lessons. In her quest to protect the balance, she discovers balance in herself. In the end, against all her natural instincts to stand and fight, to give into her rage, she instead escapes with humanity to protect them, Strife covering her escape.
Whenever I think of the 4 Horsemen in Darksiders, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles come to mind. War is somewhat like Leonardo, the leader focused on the task ahead. I really can't compare Death to any other. Fury is like Raphael, short-tempered and loves to fight. And Strife is the Michaelangelo of the group, the one who loves to be funny; but can also kick ass when it's time to ride.

No. It's Patrick
So that's why Ulthane had one of his guns
and the makers had another one, they probably managed to escape
The question is what’s strife going to do without any weapons???
Will Darksiders 4 be a pre pre sequel of a pre pre pre sequel?
Actually, Ulthane didn't have Strife's gun, he made a replica one for War, which based on "Mercy" Strife left gun. Although he gives his right one to the maker.
Isn't the right guns name redemption?
The one Ulthane gives to War is a copy and the one Death receives is the real thing, if DS 4 is made it’ll probably cover how Strife ended up losing his gun in the Makers world
What i love is how all the horsemen ended up being the opposite of their titles.
War brought peace.
Death brought life.
Fury was a protector.
Strife was a guardian.
Looking at this in typical gaming experience
War is a tank
Death is an assassin
Fury is a mage
And strife is a sharpshooter
And each representing the purest of personalities that fit their niches
Gunfire’s clearly took their time on this series
I see War more like a Bruiser, but accurate description
Death is not assassin he is more unstoppable force to be honest he is the strongest
Affan Sami Death is all of the above honestly
@@TmanTheTdog Yeah he is, he is the eldest and strongest
@@raxypalamank To be fair, the original "Tank" classification was what we would call a bruiser now, a big ol' damage dealer that can take a hit.

Maybe strife knew about this since the beginning.
he does

he did i think he is the first one who knew about the council plan
I don't think he did because in the beginning of the game council says strife is busy on an another mission while death is missing(darksiders2) and war is chained so it's up to fury to take the task
@@SoleNero21 They said so because they didn't know where Strife is and don't wanted Fury to know something is wrong
It kind of bothers me that Fury doesn't recognize her brothers weapons....
To be fair, War and Death each get a pistol of his and it *has* been thousands of years since she last saw him.
She did recognize when they passed each other and it went to slow mo as she looked at him and his guns tho, didn’t she?
She Probably thought Ulthane just made another set of copies for the seeming mortal. After all, War and Death Both Wielded Strife's Guns, Death Wielding Mercy, and Death Wielding both Mercy and Retribution.
Not to mention that we as the viewer, never see Strife show his guns, until he lifted them to the Camera to fire the shots that reveal who he truly is.
@@Victor-056 Ulthane said that the gun War wielded was a replica and not as strong as the real deal. The one Death used was real however. But who knows what Strife was planning when he gave up Redemption to Death.

Fury: “who are you to speak to me like this *HUMAN*”
Strife: “but here’s the kicker!”
Strife is In my opinion the most mysterious horseman. We learn little about him only for him to hide in plain site providing his own guns to the horseman and saving his sister while giving her sage advice. I really hope they make a 4th with him as the lead
I knew he wasn’t an unimportant character since he’s voiced by Phil Lamar.
War, Death, and Fury have all been melee based. That's kinda been the basis of the combat in the series. If there's a 4th game with strife, I wonder how combat will be, since he seems to be mostly centered around guns.
Add daggers, weapon customizeations, weapon attachments, special rounds, crossbow bolts, and more.
There is a lot that can be done.
Im honestly hoping he has like a special weapon besides the guns. Story wise he loses both of the guns if im not mistaken. One is wielded by war and the other wielded by death
I think that strife could use any ranged weapon such as bomb cannons guns and daggers. Also he should fight in a more tactical way then their comrades
Cover shooter with some stealth?
Maybe zoner playstyle but 2x damage taken by armo?

This was such a cool ending. Not only did they show Strife and give us an idea of where he has been and what he has been doing, they also left us with so much curiosity as to what journey led him to that point. I love that they gave us more answers as to what the deeper plot is about. I also love that it ends with a sense of desperation for mankind.
Plamen Ilarionov so worth the read
Underated Comment
Cant wait to play as him in Darksiders 4

So, will the Horsemen of the Apocalypse be the ones that destroy all of heaven, hell and even the charred council and uphold a new balance to the world and meet the mysterious more mysterious than Lucifer himself the creator?
Finally! He's here!
Have to admit, I was surprised to see him. I knew the black guy special and was hiding something but never thought he could be strife. Loved this scene.
Damn i want both MERCY and REDEMPTION
War fights for Balance
Death fights for is brother War
Fury fights for what's right
Strife fights for humanity who are the victims in all this
The ending where the music is playing at the background is seriously a nice touch & a beautiful way to end this game ! And tbh, Fury’s character development is the most powerful growth ever, the fact that she has learnt to Calm herself down, take things slow & not rush onto anything head first is definitely worth seeing. Cos in the end, Fury still holds alot of respect for her brothers
Something tells me that Strife will be my favourite horseman in the end...

It's crazy to think how many subtle easter eggs there was in this game.
In Darksiders 2's DLC, a human was fooled into giving the location of the last human enclave which lead (or as he sees it) to their extermination.
The Sins kept The Destroyer (Abaddon) at bay and with their elimination he was able to achieve dominance which War had to solve.
why did he disguised himself tho
Well maybe he knew about the council corruption so he hid himself
and that is why Death was sent to destroy the corruption and restore humanity in the veil of soul. All that is left now is Strife to take down the Dark Prince himself and the council in D4
@@spore4893 Death wasn't sent, he went on his own. That's why the council sent Fury after the sins instead of him.

Darksiders is such an underrated series. I wish it got more of the attention it rightfully deserved.
I remember when I finished this game, then Strife appeared like a wise man. I loved it, but after Darksiders Genesis? LOL, he just trolls everyone, apparently.
Really hope they understand that Bayonette gives them a fighting style to Stryfe if they're not sure how to style the way he fights with dual pistols.
Hope they make a Darksider game with Strife !!
Here is my Theory:
Strife, like Death, will die at the end of Darksiders 4, unless his solo game is skipped altogether.
Thane. (I assume Thane is a family member of Ulthane)
In Darksiders 3, we see Strife and the Makers stay behind to buy Fury some time to safeguard the humans.
I think people are more waiting up on this Horseman not to-dis Fury
Honestly I thought Death was my favorite, but after playing all 3 I'm kind of liking each of them in their own respect.
Ive been waiting for this!!!!
Black dude is secretly Xur Agent of the nine
My theory is that strife was the first of the horsemen to discover the council's betrayal, and that's why he was laying low all this time, he would've saved humanity and defeated the seven deadly, but doing so would reveal him to the council
I've always had a good feeling about strife, through the comic and in other lore sources he may be my favourite of the four, plus those guns though they look good and he's appearence is my favourite also lol
This game was criminally underrated.
Well at least the devs have Darksiders 4 in mind
See ya in the next few years strife
I especially like how Strife is keeping up with the times and using guns.
That has always been his weapons
Is.it me or dose furry look prettier with blue hair

Charles Brossett I thought so too actually.
i just know fury is a throat goat
Strife has the most humanity of the 4 the way he cares for everyone is amazing
he knows humanity's struggle, their world, the grounds of the heaven and hell war
Gods I love this series so much. I really hope they make a fourth game with Strife as our main protagonist.
Still waiting for 4. I believe!!
I hate that they always leave us on such a cliffhanger
It took me awhile. But I kinda like how they develop her character. Even furthers the concept how vulnerable Horseman can be. We seen this with War and Death. But Fury has it even worse. I wonder how much Strife had to endure in his journey
So while his siblings all do something important, Strife sits in a tree and gives pep-talk.
Strife understands the struggles of mankind more than anyone because he's black.
Get the fuck out of here with that racist shit. Don't make this about identity politics, Strife is a Nephillim, not black or white or any of that.
They'll give them back once he's resurrected by the 7th seal.
hope we get to play Strife as well. As little we know of him still hes my favorite horseman
Strife easily has the coolest visual design of the 4 horsemen
Death is better his mask is awesome
the story of this game gives chills i wanna play it.... and so these game has a part 4 ....
We need a game with only Strife. Darksiders Genesis was good, but I think all the horseman deserve their own game.
Maybe the Darksiders 5 will be multiplayer. Playing as all of the Horsemen in one while would be pretty hard
I personally, think that Strifes gonna be like that mysterious saviour for Humanity. The missions will be maybe like saving survivors and things
