At this point, the Human race was brand new and the game’s story ends with the Council culling humanity after Lucifer corrupted us with the Animus (I personally think this culling might have been the great flood in the story of Noah’s Ark, giving humanity a second chance after removing the worst of the corruption). Instead of revealing himself when Fury turned up, he instead got pissed at her dismissal of Humans and eventually inspired her to protect them at the end. It certainly seems Strife is the most human of the four.
