Yeah,Darksiders 2 is the most longest game in the franchise for me. I have already play Darksider 1 and 2 and have watched all the walkthrough of Darksider 3 and Darksider Genesis. I'm impressed that Death walk a long path to clear his brother's name,War.
Untrue about War. Death himself has said War is an exceptional tactician. Apart from that you can see War is anything but dumb in the first game. War in Genesis is still young and naive but that happens untold millennia ago. He has supposedly grown since then.

You put everything together in a cohesive straight forward way that makes it easier to follow especially given the vast lore of the franchise and the timeline events for the series. As a HARDCORE Darksiders fan (I own the biggest Darksiders fan account on Instagram) I always find myself coming back to this video just to brush up on my knowledge. The way you put the video, in exact sequence is so satisfying. You made sure all the events lined up properly. Darksiders truly is one of those underrated game series that has an insane amount of Lore in it for people to explore.
I only today finished Darksiders 3 and wanted to brush up on all of the lore before diving into Genesis....What an incredibly great job you did with this video! It was clear, entertaining, and how you managed to squeeze it all in only 35 minutes is only barely short of a miracle! Will definitely be checking out more of your vids.

Going to nitpick a little here and mention how you skimmed over the whole End War plot. Abaddon wanted to catch Hell unaware and ambush the Lords, only he found Hell waiting for him and his legion.

If you think about it, the timeline of the games matches with the order of the horsemen in the Book of Revelation. With Strife (Pestilence) being introduced in Darksiders Genesis ( which takes place before the events of the first Darksiders), War being introduced in the first game, Fury (Famine) being introduced in the 3rd game , and Death (whose actions begin before Fury’s , but is completed afterwards.) Much in the same order of the book of Revelation
Looking at the big picture, Death's story was rage-inducing. War found out he was setup. Fury found out the conspiracy and directly faced the Council. Death went on a quest to clear his brother's name (to the ones that set him up) for a crime he did not do. He knew war was innocent but he didn't know who was guilty. He was basically left out of the loop. AT THE SAME TIME, he single handedly cleared out a corruption from the tree of life (a central point of connection between realms) and revived a whole race. His story is integral but when you look at everything else, you cant help but wonder "what the hell were you doing over there?" And then you look at the little [big] shit he had to do. *you have to go thru two dungeons so we can forge a key for you to use at the end of this dungeon to wake up a guy to open a path to THIS dungeon to wake up THIS bigger dude that you have to fight and then revive so you can clear the path to the tree.......... just so you can do that bullshit all over again in the next realm* ......... Like what the literal fuck? And I cant not mention how much of a troll the Lord of bones was. Three dungeons. Three boss fights. Just for him to say "fuck that shit" and burn your efforts right in front of your face.

Apart from that was the problem with the Nephilim being a critical variable to the end war which Death made sure to conclusively solve by sacrificing them instead. This unintentionally ruined the plans of Lucifer as he sent Lilith to manipulate death into getting the Nephilim back. And why would Death need to be in the loop of things anyway? In the story of the abominations and DS 2 story we see Death as someone who thinks for himself and his family rather than for the council. Every action of his is because he is true to himself and not because of the council so basically the council couldn't manipulate him like they did War and Fury. Basically, Death destroyed the rising 4th faction of the game, restored an entire race, and unknowingly foiled the schemes of the council and Lucifer as he just did all these because of his guilt and love for his Brother War (cus he got him killed before, and he cut his arm off XD) so ladies and gentlemen, I give to you best brother of all realms! P.S. I know corruption isn't dead as it has intelligence as evident of it choosing a champion, I wonder if corruption had changed the Council or Lucifer for all these schemes to pop up!

I think it's amazing that they're giving Strife a more bullet hell routined game than the third person combat system the other ones. It feels like him.

One of my favorite parts of the Abomination Vault book is when Death sees War unleashed on a battlefield and makes the remark that the more War fights the stronger he gets and at that moment he wasn’t even sure he could take on War and survive. Idk why but I always found that part super interesting.
The difference is Darksiders is well written, makes sense and has a minor amount of retcons. KH is not confusing in a way like lets say Xenosaga - it is confusing because it is utter trash.

Maybe if u play it in order. but If played chronologically u basically jus play the 1st section of Darksiders one then play Darksiders 2 first section then play all of three finish 2 then finish 1. I'm really interested what his role in the story's gonna be. Even though he would fit a role of a main boss in the whole series, I hope that's not gonna be the case, it's way to predictable for Samael. With all we know so far and all we have witnessed him to do, it's even kinda a stretch to call him a villain...
So technically it starts with war but he gets framed and imprisoned then while death is unconscious fury's story happens then deaths long ass story finishes.amd then finally war gets out and that is where the story ends but doesn't end because we still have another story.
Damn, I hope they do a 4th with strife to complete the quadrilogy at least and do a 5th installment with the 4 horsemen at your control for the finale or a different story to end the conflict. "Humans were left unprotected and are still evolving". It'll be cool to introduce a human in the lore as the new MC in the 5th installment. With human numbers dwindled. The 4 left traces somehow couldn't finish the conflict because of some dramatic stuff. One human becomes an exception. He/She traverses through heaven and hell, space and time collecting relics of the old 4 horsemen and with him he becomes the embodiment of the 4. The human will finish the conflict once and for all. I just love the lore and the DS universe.

Sweet wrap up. I'm trying to work out why the council brought War back after a century where he was imprisoned/killed, and sent him back to earth again. I guess they wanted him to clean up some of the mess on Earth and kill abaddon/destroyer? Then they were obviously gonna kill him afterwards (watcher stabs him in the back). I guess they weren't counting on his vision and then Uriel breaking the seventh seal.
Wow. Just explains how complicated this whole story is,i played the first two and a lot of things were very confusing :( but i love all the little quests on your journey,find this,assemble this,create that,so many little stories inside of the main one.
Now that the lore of 1 to 3 is covered, by this madlad, 4 might show strife's story since Genesis covers eons ago. It might take place after 2's start and ends after 3 since both his guns we're found after it story wise and not before Death was able to find Redemption.
I can't remember when genesis was relased, but the name is self explayining. Genesis is the first cronologicaly, and shows the forging of the seals and the truce.
There is a popular theory among the Darksiders community that Strife actually died when he was helping the Makers defend Haven from the Destroyer’s attack at the end of Darksiders 3. It would explain how Ulthane got a hold of Mercy to give to War 100 years later, and for all we know, Strife’s other gun, Redemption, could have been taken by Vulgrim and somehow ended up in the Forge Lands. And after his death, Strife, like his brothers War and Death, was resurrected when the seventh seal was broken.
DS 3 hapens 10 years after the endwar. Before departing, Fury says to Ulthane that if he ever crosses path with War, help him. Ulthane, although, dosn't know that The Destroyer is in fact Abbadon (that means, the destroyer, in latin). I like the way he introduced the Death, because DS 2 has a different time flown, he has to visit so many realms that it tooks him his god damn time to do so. In fact, when you visit the earth with death, you can see the Black Throne completed, (or almost completed; when you meet Abraxis in DS 3 you are a withness of its construction). And, furthermore. When you visit the City of the Death, killing that C'thulu like monster, the crowfather states that he fears that "the souls have been liberated to further torment", that means that he is aware that the Destroyer is tapping on the well of souls to fuel his armys. So yes, it is a confusing storyline. It is thanks to Half-Life 2 that I understanded that (you use a teleporter that needs 2 weeks to get you on the other side lol). Plus, the Kingdom of the Death is the representation of the purgatory, who knows how much time death has spend there - and the other realms.
Man, I always knew I would like the Darksiders story as a concept, but to see it build up the ending to DS1 while also paving the way for a potential new installment is fantastic.

I remember seeing all of these games appearing in Game Informer growing up and wanting to play them so badly, but never being able to afford them. I still can't believe the story ends where DS1 ends. It's been a decade and we still haven't seen what comes next, just a lot of expansion on what happens before. I love the franchise though however the first game is still the best game. DS2 and 3 were good but they lack the Epicness of the first game, about a lone horseman fighting both heaven and hell to restore the balance.
God these games are awesome. Really underappreciated IMO. How often do you see 4 games, of different genres, all telling one grand story, AND that story and gameplay are both amazing?? The closest I can think of is the Trails series from Falcom, but even those are all the same genre.

One of my favorite parts of the Abomination Vault book is when Death sees War unleashed on a battlefield and makes the remark that the more War fights the stronger he gets and at that moment he wasn’t even sure he could take on War and survive. Idk why but I always found that part super interesting.

The difference is Darksiders is well written, makes sense and has a minor amount of retcons. KH is not confusing in a way like lets say Xenosaga - it is confusing because it is utter trash.
Felix S. 1 and 2 were great stories.

....Darksiders isn't Horrible and not confusing. Maybe if u play it in order. but If played chronologically u basically jus play the 1st section of Darksiders one then play Darksiders 2 first section then play all of three finish 2 then finish 1. Honestly the order is basically DMC5 if all its character chapters where a separate game.
I love how deep the lore of this series is. So glad they're keeping it alive and I'm waiting with excitement for Darksiders 4

Even though he would fit a role of a main boss in the whole series, I hope that's not gonna be the case, it's way to predictable for Samael. With all we know so far and all we have witnessed him to do, it's even kinda a stretch to call him a villain...

Darksiders 2 is the best in atmosphere, world and combat. You can’t change my mind.
I still play the first one tho, I like it a lot, the fights and the search for the abyssal armor
So technically it starts with war but he gets framed and imprisoned then while death is unconscious fury's story happens then deaths long ass story finishes.amd then finally war gets out and that is where the story ends but doesn't end because we still have another story.

Damn, I hope they do a 4th with strife to complete the quadrilogy at least and do a 5th installment with the 4 horsemen at your control for the finale or a different story to end the conflict. "Humans were left unprotected and are still evolving". It'll be cool to introduce a human in the lore as the new MC in the 5th installment. With human numbers dwindled. The 4 left traces somehow couldn't finish the conflict because of some dramatic stuff. One human becomes an exception. He/She traverses through heaven and hell, space and time collecting relics of the old 4 horsemen and with him he becomes the embodiment of the 4. The human will finish the conflict once and for all. I just love the lore and the DS universe.
The ending to the first game was the best ending it could've had. It hooked you and made you want more

Sweet wrap up. I'm trying to work out why the council brought War back after a century where he was imprisoned/killed, and sent him back to earth again.
I guess they wanted him to clean up some of the mess on Earth and kill abaddon/destroyer? Then they were obviously gonna kill him afterwards (watcher stabs him in the back).
I guess they weren't counting on his vision and then Uriel breaking the seventh seal.

Wow. Just explains how complicated this whole story is,i played the first two and a lot of things were very confusing :( but i love all the little quests on your journey,find this,assemble this,create that,so many little stories inside of the main one.
Now that the lore of 1 to 3 is covered, by this madlad, 4 might show strife's story since Genesis covers eons ago. It might take place after 2's start and ends after 3 since both his guns we're found after it story wise and not before Death was able to find Redemption.
It takes place before.it is like a prologue. War is not send to earth yet

I can't remember when genesis was relased, but the name is self explayining. Genesis is the first cronologicaly, and shows the forging of the seals and the truce.
There is a popular theory among the Darksiders community that Strife actually died when he was helping the Makers defend Haven from the Destroyer’s attack at the end of Darksiders 3.
It would explain how Ulthane got a hold of Mercy to give to War 100 years later, and for all we know, Strife’s other gun, Redemption, could have been taken by Vulgrim and somehow ended up in the Forge Lands.
And after his death, Strife, like his brothers War and Death, was resurrected when the seventh seal was broken.

Gameplay with Death was the best game experience ever
The in game timeline always confuses me a little, like fury meets ulthein who then later meets war but doesn’t mention fury even as a passing comment
DS 3 hapens 10 years after the endwar. Before departing, Fury says to Ulthane that if he ever crosses path with War, help him. Ulthane, although, dosn't know that The Destroyer is in fact Abbadon (that means, the destroyer, in latin). I like the way he introduced the Death, because DS 2 has a different time flown, he has to visit so many realms that it tooks him his god damn time to do so. In fact, when you visit the earth with death, you can see the Black Throne completed, (or almost completed; when you meet Abraxis in DS 3 you are a withness of its construction). And, furthermore. When you visit the City of the Death, killing that C'thulu like monster, the crowfather states that he fears that "the souls have been liberated to further torment", that means that he is aware that the Destroyer is tapping on the well of souls to fuel his armys. So yes, it is a confusing storyline. It is thanks to Half-Life 2 that I understanded that (you use a teleporter that needs 2 weeks to get you on the other side lol). Plus, the Kingdom of the Death is the representation of the purgatory, who knows how much time death has spend there - and the other realms.

Strife isn't the same as he was at the dawn mankind (Genesis). We see that through his impersonation of a human named "Jones" in DS3.

I've replayed each of the Darksiders games 2 times, but missed some of these details, especially the books from 2012.

I still can't believe the story ends where DS1 ends. It's been a decade and we still haven't seen what comes next, just a lot of expansion on what happens before.
I love the franchise though however the first game is still the best game. DS2 and 3 were good but they lack the Epicness of the first game, about a lone horseman fighting both heaven and hell to restore the balance.
I agree and I honestly think they can't think of a good way to end it hence why they never made a darksiders post DS1

God these games are awesome. Really underappreciated IMO. How often do you see 4 games, of different genres, all telling one grand story, AND that story and gameplay are both amazing?? The closest I can think of is the Trails series from Falcom, but even those are all the same genre.
