3 years later have you still got the same E Class and what issues have you had? I'm going to buy the 2.1 ltr diesel soon if they are reliable..... what should I look out for when buying?

I would agree with that. I bought a GS460 at the same time as a mate bought a E500. I have been back for scheduled servicing whereas he has been back to the garage for multiple visits for various faults. It is great when it works but I am happy with the Lexus. I will never take the reliability for granted again!

I've driven the 2016 E200 cdi and its a great cruising machine but I found it difficult to get comfy after a 13hour shift in work on a 80mile trip. That said I am 6 foot 4 and i recon the E200 cdi is probably the budget E-class. Now I am considering buying an E250 cdi saloon 2014 pre-faclift over a skoda superb 2.0 Tdi 2017. Sure the skoda is a newer car but you can't beat the 3 point embelmn on the bonnet in your eye line of sight and its a Mercedes.....

I'm sorry, "the on screen menu can be abit distracting" ? Well I suppose we'll just remove all the screens and entertainment systems from every car on the road then shall we?
After owning a MB S Class and experiencing so many quality & repair issues that people who drive Hyundai's don't even experience..I will never again purchase another MB in my life. If MB can't do what Lexus has done..which is build a car with all the safety, refinement, and driving characterics an S Class has in the LS..but WITHOUT the reliability and quality issues..then they can keep milking suckers who don't mind being stranded in the hot summer on a highway..while I drive by in my Lexus LS.
What Car have been anti Mercedes for a long time. The bmw 5 series which they rate higher than the E class came second to the E class in their own JD power survey. It must be an embarrassment for them. They seem to have lost all credibility.
I purchased my 2010 E 250 CDI used 4 yrs ago. Love my car in and out. 95000 kms and it is an Avantgarde. Oil leaks from the injectors $750, oil leaks from throttle linkage $800. Oil leak from oil filter assy $860 water pump hoses etc $750 but I still love it .
Jaguar??? It doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence with merc. And bmw will never be a Merc, no matter that the Bavarians try and try so very hard. Please don't take comments personally. Remember, we are commenting only on cars. Afterall, it is not rocket science. Ross
The technology it's very bad for a car from 2010 you have that screen that only shows the track or a bad navi . better buy a car from 2001 because it's easy and cheap to upgrade with a nice navi system and functions .
Jaguars are terrible, unreliable, English engineered cars. MB is the best marque in the world behind Ferrari, and only Ferrari. Jags look nice, but lack truly high performance and value for what you pay. The AMG Mercedes are the best cars in the world, behind Ferrari's. E class is also the best class of MB, perfect balance of performance and luxury.
P.s. And another thing: Why not compare 200,000+km between different makes. Must be genuine. And then one will see why Mercedes is the best car in the world by a good margin. R

They’re idiots. I just bought a brand new 2010 e class and it is the most comfortable car I’ve ever been in in my entire life. It drives like an absolute dream and there is by far more room in it than in a suv. No exaggeration. You will be in love with your car if you buy this one, take my word for it bro

don't really care what you think to be honest - it is straight up truth. Pity as the Merc is a lovely design, nice drive but has just been a series of electrical or software problems. My boss has a BMW with similar software issues and he has vowed never to have another one.

Quality is poor inside (given the cost), cheap hard plastics. Dull looks on this E class means sales have dipped noticeably from the more elegant previous model. All Mercedes suffer from confusing model identity and awful new shapes ... the new B class looks like a small delivery van, the new A class like an Astra. The refaced E class looks schizophrenic with big curved new grill but squared off tail end. My Dad's new C Class has a poor ride, jarring over every bump. I wouldn't waste my money.

Mine has manual transmission as well. Very rare among these cars.
We aren't so lucky here in N.America, manual transmissions have become almost extinct.....

For the parts and services its not that cheap for full service engine and trannsmision prepare 600euros
