Haha, yea thats a daily occurrence here with my guppies and betta fish. I had one Amano walk right up to one of my corydoras and take the pellet it was eating and there were a bunch with no fish eating them but I guess the one the cory was eating looked better or something 🤣
I use the API Master Test Kit but I know NTLabs and a couple of other brands have their own versions that do similar stuff. Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate are all important so I would at least get something that checks for those.
When they glass surf excessively, is it possible they’re more cognizant than other fish and require decor changes more often for a change of scenery? Perhaps they feel too bored otherwise. I know you don’t typically do this because it can stress them out but are there exceptions?
There could be, he randomly stopped glass surfing after around 3 months in the tank though. It was as if he just realized it was his reflection one day and calmed down :)
@@GlassBoxDiariesI use the same sponge filter you're using...I think. The one with the little area beneath the sponge with media?? Anyway....I use a little air flow control valve "gadget" on the tubing and I then the flow can be lowered if that's what you would like to do....if moving the sponge filter behind the rock doesn't work as well s you want. I never tried that before.
@@christiankocha8663 I let the algae build up on the side pannels but after a couple of months he seemed to just realize it was his reflection in the glass and stopped glass surfing.
Thought you might like this video. I watch Alex's channel a lot as he offers a lot of information th-cam.com/video/dkgp3m_enBU/w-d-xo.html Your betta and his tank is really enjoyable. I am glad to see your channel growing so much and seems to be progressing quickly! I really enjoy your information, presentation and camera shots.
Cheers mate, I am a huge fan of Alex, I think i'm about half way through all of his videos now as I watch them instead of TV now :) Thanks forthe link, I will watch it a little later tonight.
It’s way too small for him.!?! He looks like a King betta?! Idk correct me if I’m wrong?!. I have a KING BETTA that live in a 20 gallon long with a army of red cherry shrimps plus pest snails and both are a great clean up crew along with a army of assassin snails to keep pest snails population in check .’ Then I have a GIANT BETTA that lives in a 20 gallon long with a army of red cherry shrimps & pest snails as his clean up crew then also assassin snails. Both are very happy and I have not done any water changes for almost 2 years now but only top of water for both of them. They both live in a heavy planted tank that I trim every three weeks and sell also they have a neno sponge filter plus heater.

Wonderful aquarium. Beautiful plants and fauna. 😀
Cheers mate :)
Cool! Buce flower is beautiful, everything is..

@@GlassBoxDiaries that's hilarious! I caught mine and put them in the community tank as the poor neocaradinas weren't getting a look in!
is it okay to cycle the tank before putting gravel and the decor in?
Yea :)
good to know. Thank you :)
Arnt the lava rocks to rough on fins ?
I was worried about that but I use lava rock in all my tanks and the fish seem to know not to get too close.
Which test kit you use and which test kit is important to purchase

Wow thank you 🥰
No worries mate :)

Yea I kept one with chili rasboras.
Hellooo! I love the tank! Heres a tip, betta fish, ( Siamese fighting fish. ) normally only need around 5 gallons. ( 20 liters. )
Thanks for the tip mate :)
@@GlassBoxDiaries are you saying this sarcasrcily or in a rude way?
@@Average_PC2_enjoyer No mate.
he's stress coz it's too much water movement.
Good point, I will try move the sponge filter behind one of the rocks to reduce water flow.
BEAUTIFUL! Agreed, I think that sponge is going waaaay to much. Mine prefer very gentle flow, Good luck!
