    This is my go to wax since it came out last year and you reviewed it Jon. Stunning hydrophobicity, not surprising really as although not the cheapest, Gyeon stuff is great in my opinion. I’ve applied it with my DA polisher since day 1 however I thought I’d apply it by hand with their applicator last week and it not only took a lot longer to do (which is a given I know lol) but wasn’t anywhere as even to apply and then to take off. The machine application is def the way forward, for me anyway 😂👍🏼🤩

      I agree, my go to wax too and Prep from Gyeon is as bad as fresh bread baking as in its smell "im addicted" 😁, also Gyeon wax not a total nightmare with the 🌞 like some waxes. Not having a garage it's a "needs must" situation

    Would you be willing to try this test with a fusso coat? I think a 3 inch pad would fit in the lid . It's the wax that really doesn't forgive much when you overapply it and this machine method might fix that ...

    The camera isn't going fuzzy or out of focus, but seems to be over exposing because of the dark panel. You could try dialling in a stop of under exposure and see if that gets you a better result? Great video as usual though!

    Hi John, I am getting a new car later this year, and I am using my old one to practice detailling which I have not done before. So I did a deep clean (I thought) and waxed the car, only to realize that in a few spots I have waxed over dirt. On top of that I want to try and polish some scratches, but how do I get through my double speed to do that, do I just need to strip it by washing it a bunch of times? Seems like strippers are not that efficient

    Jon. Another mistake made. Used a black softer pad and wax on a basic drill head and it left holograms. How is this even possible. Know forced rotation for compound reduces chance deeper holograms but plain wax on a drill still left them ???? Did I push the pad in. Wonder what did wrong. I do polish by hand where I compound first. This was a flat black not needing correction. So went in with speed. Drill and wax and failed !!!!!!! Lovely glossy finish and then next day. Saw…. Holograms !!!!!!

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      hey buddy, yer the same "can" happen with rotary. pressure and speed and the abrasive effect of the wax. Drill is not ideal. It creates heat and micro surface marring when that clearcoat softens from the heat. Best thing is to get a DA mate this just wont happen on DA or very very unlikely to.

    • @as680783
      @as680783 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm personally, pro-claying a coating. Even with some maintenance, a coating will suffer some degree of performance deterioration after a year. If the owner doesn't periodically decontaminate their paint with fallout remover, tar/glue remover/TFR etc., they're going to get embedded contaminants that will affect the hydrophibicity of the coating. Claying an underperforming coating will remove these contaminants and in most cases, revive its properties.
