I respect every company that strives to do practical things seriously
The thing to me that stood out with what the CEO said is that their purpose of testing these technologies on prototypes is so that these technologies will be affordable for everyone next year
😅😅 with an ev
@@pablosilva5443 This thing is apparently dirt cheap in China.
Every journey begins with a step. Hats off Xiaomi
Hats off to Tesla and Porsche Taycan
Yes! I can't wait for the Porsche ev 718 boxter&cayman twins next year. After seeing how well the updated taycan turbo gt did at the green hell earlier this year!
The Porsche Cayman gt4 E demonstrator gave me hope Porsche will make fun decent weight 2 dr evs. Just don't expect affordability out of them.
No practice, not trial, ONLY a single run. Massive respect!.
Please market the normal su 7 out of China, wish i can had mine one.
Im a mifag since Redmi Note 2, no one or very little use it around in my country, malaysia. Technically, no other phone brand since then.
Su 7 - Su Chi (sound 'suci' in our malay languange means innocent or purity !)
Because su7 is so popular, the orders from China have not been fully delivered yet, and it will take 3 years before they go abroad
@@xlx9048 My cousin ordered a SU7 but it would take 6 months to deliver. So he had to cancel it and ordered a Model Y instead, which he received in 7 days.
It wasn't a single pass, they did several tests before going for the record pass.
Because the car has a lot of damage, so they have to change it. There have been many cases of damage in China. @@xlx9048
No practice USAID?
every once in a while we see pics online of someone spotting Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi driving a performance car from a legacy automaker, and as he said before the normal version of Su7 was launched, he drove more than 3000 cars to know what a good car actually feels like on the road. That's when we know they mean business when they say the Su7 will be the best driving car under a million RMB. I test drove both the base rwd version and the Su7max, the current best Su7 that's on the market with awd, air suspension, I can say it drove better than any production electric vehicle out there under 80k USD(SU7 MAX is a 40kUSD car in China) just behind the Lotus Emeya which is over 80k.
Drove better than any production electric vehicle? Is that why the brakes failed on the track and slammed into a wall at 100+ mph? Keep lying to yourself buddy.
@@Waldo1122 Ahh, as usual....A hater
@@TeddyYang-b2w If stating facts is being a hater then yeah I am a hater. Go ahead and buy this Chinese junk, good luck when the brakes fail.
@Waldo1122 the video of that crash was from April, And the driver soon explained how he crashed it, he did 29 laps with 6 flying laps, each flying laps all broke the record of the fastest car on that circuit. He realized there were no brake on his last flying lap attempt, but he wanted to break his own record so bad so he flat out on the last straight line. Then realized there really isn't any brake left. It was his own doing, cuz no electric cars with more than 2 tons of weight can be kept on a race track 29 for 29 laps. And Lei Jun never said the Xiaomi Su7max is ready for the race track, it's not a track focused car, and that brake would be totally fine driving aggressively on public road. After so many ppl attempting to drive it on track, Xiaomi finally made an official 6 pistons caliber upgrade for su7 owners to buy. My reaction seeing that clip of the crash appearing on western media 6 months after the actual crash and with no explanation on the backstory is simply western propaganda trying to damage the brand and convince ppl to buy their expensive and crappy so called "legacy automakers"
@angelozhangS 29 laps with an electric car... Are you seriously trying to say Xiaomi has now discovered unlimited battery technology? Lying through your teeth LOL!!! That car would have needed new tires and they would have checked the brakes before then, that guy isn't some amateur buddy.
Fact is the car has TINY brake pads and they put giant Brembo calipers on to deceive customers.
Tesla never said the Model 3/Y/X are ready for the race track yet they all can do it and not leave a driver flying into a wall at 100 mph with absolutely no brakes.
Fantastic video, fantastic result! Congratulation from Norway, Xiaomi!!
Every time I go out, I can see several xiaomi su7 on the road. It’s so popular now.
Where?
@@davosam1968 In China.
@@davosam1968Shanghai
不用上海😂😂😂😂就我们小县城都满大街小米su7
Xiaomi really did it with the su7
Su7 Ultra. A sportier version of the Su7
If I’m not mistaken, this Su7 Ultra will release next year.
Did what? This is a hand built non production spec light weight car smh.
The production intent su7 ultra will weigh over 275kgs more. Have less down force, less grip with narrower tires, less braking power(don't get me started on the su7 brake failures on track days anyone can find from Chinese reviewers! It will have less cooling, a worse center of gravity and less power!
I bet it struggles to beat the st legal production plaid s with track pack time of 7:25.
@@4literv6 did what? They really made a nice car. How are you so worried about it beating not a Tesla it's just a car bro there's bigger things to worry about. 😂
@@4literv6 chill man it's just a comment 😂
Crazy...
It's the first car a cell phone company ever made
It's literally electric
It had only one attempt on a wet track
and it broke the record for being the fastest four-door car...
Well done Xiaomi 👍
Saya dari Indonesia, pemerhati xiaomi sejak redmi note 1.Sangat berdedikasi..semoga kelak saya dapat memiliki salah 1 produk Xiaomi..SU7, Amen.
Good luck Xiaomi, saya turut bangga dengan pencapaian anda👍👍
Amazing. SU7 time was slightly beween Aventador SVJ and Porsche GT3RS . And it was the first EV Car that break the record. AN EV Car.
Love Mr Lei’s charismatic persona - very “engineer” type of leader. One can sense his meticulous through his words. Well done Xiaomi Team!
Lest go Xiaomi!
Let's go Tesla
@@dongshengdi773they’re both great brands imo. But the fact that Xiaomi managed to pull this off as their first car is just crazy

Who would have thought one day that a Chinese phone manufacturer could beat the Nürburgring record with an electric car! The game has changed !😄
Show them what Chinese automakers can do!!
The big brain move is to have collaboration with Sony or Xbox to put it in their race sim games (Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport) and challenge players to beat the record in the game with SU7 Ultra.
Should be easy with their arcade physics.
Should be collaborating with Assetto Corsa EVO instead.
@@KitKitChanIsaacGran Turismo is not an arcade, and even Force Motorsport doesn't have such arcade physics anymore, it was a good addition for them.

Great performance.
i hope that the su7 will be available in germany, i would of course like to have the performance version even if it would be too expensive for me. but as long as you also have control over traction control and co on the normal model it would be great.
Unfortunately, that's what I have with the Model 3, more control over the traction control would be very good, but the chassis is already slightly overwhelmed when you drive them tight corners Perfomant
I've also been on the Nordschleife and spun around in similar weather conditions
I can't think again to people who hate this without any reason

fake news😂
@@Giancarlyn Yet there is a video showing the brakes failing and showing the brake pads are literally smaller than a Tesla Model Y's brake pads....
@@Waldo1122 The reason for that is the adoption of a triangular design. That particular video has received tens of millions of views in China. In the video, the car was still being driven even after the brake pads had been completely worn out. However, it should be noted that the car had already issued a warning in advance. Under normal driving circumstances, such an issue would not occur. The vehicle is designed to alert the driver to replace the brake pads when they are running low.
@@Giancarlyn The brake pads that were brand new at the start of the day and now turned to dust after a couple laps on a track? The car issued a warning when it was ALREADY OUT OF CONTROL! Teslas issue a warning when the brakes are getting too hot for them to continue performing properly, the Xiaomi gave a warning when the driver is already in an uncontrolled skid.
The car is being advertised as a sports sedan so "under normal driving circumstances" is no excuse, if they were advertising this for daily driving then they shouldn't have put giant BREMBO brake calipers on there trying to pretend that it is a sports car.
@ In fact, this remains a family vehicle. When it comes to the purchasing process, purchasers have the option to select high-performance braking accessories. The Ultra series, on the other hand, falls squarely into the realm of racing cars. The price tag of this particular car is equivalent to that of Tesla. While it may lag slightly behind Tesla in terms of energy consumption and body strength during collisions, it has achieved remarkable advancements in other aspects. Consequently, within a short period of time, the monthly sales volume of this car's identical model has managed to overtake that of Tesla.
In China, Tesla automobiles manufactured in Shanghai and Xiaomi cars produced in Beijing are free from customs duties, thereby facilitating a fair competition environment. The appearance of this car has even spurred a craze in the Chinese auto culture. It gives the impression that almost everyone has initiated a journey of understanding cars. Even an automotive behemoth like BYD has not been able to accomplish such a feat.
For a car that is painstakingly exploring and forging miracles in the highly competitive Chinese auto market, it is unjust to subject it to such slander. The humility and earnestness it exhibits are worthy of our esteem. We ought to respect our rivals rather than engage in unfounded and negative speculations.
The look of the car reminded me of the Pennzoil Toyota Celica Pikes-Peak edition.
Bravo
XIAOMI means "SHOW ME" THE MONEY in English! Great car, great time and CHINA is the FUTURE of motoring!
