  • How to make Lightweight Cement flower pot with Styrofoam at home
In this video I’m gonna show you how to make a beautiful flower pot at home with cement and styrofoam, The Styrofoam mixture leaves the pot light so you can move it easily. It is a good decoration idea for pots with Lightweight cement that you can make it in different sizes .It is also very resistant.
    Proportions:
For the first layer : Cement - Sand- Water 1:2:1
For the outer layer: 1 part of Cement - 2 parts of Styrofoam - 1 part of Joint Mortar(Tile Adhesive)-1/2 part of Water - ( 1:2:1:0,5) and I added 50 ml PVA Glue for 4x time the proportions.
waterproofing: 200ml water, 3 tablespoon PVA Glue, cement enough to make it creamy but not too thick.

Thank you Ana! I wish to provide people with edible organic vegetables here on the island of Cyprus. Our food prices are going crazy ( like everywhere) and we have many Ukrainian women refugees who have lost their beloved gardens. I see so many people throw away boxes and styrofoam, so I'll try to preserve our island and make people healthy thanks to you sharing your own creativity. You rock, so please rock on!

That's a very good idea , if the pieces of styrofoam are big they could be crushed in a normal kitchen blender . Thank you!

This was fabulous thank you. I should prefer instead of using cardboard boxes to make a box out of 5mm plywood, That way, it would be more rigid and the plywood box could be made out of pin nails and tape. The only inconvenience would be having to get the hardware Shop to cut Plywood to size.

For extra strength I recommend painting with any color and cheap latex paint and covering quickly with cloth like a bed sheet and repainting over cloth while the paint is still wet embedding the cloth in the paint..,let dry, then repaint with final color...

The cement I bought is Portland cement , and the styrofoam and sand could be found in a building supply store , or DIY store, they also have them on Amazon

I have the pots I made more than a year and they are still very good, did not break. but its important to put some metals inside to make it more resistant.
