      @@shaunboydmadethis or epoxy resin!

    • @TheQuarterbackX
      @TheQuarterbackX 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, at first I though resin was going to be used to fill in the gaps.
      Then say the gaps were going to be left there. So, though nice thick glass that wont break too easily.
      Though maybe want to use some kind of rubber spacer between the wood and class so any condensation through the glass will not get to the wood.
      I will also say I was a bit concerned with its strength. After helping lost of friends move over the years, and knowing how furniture can take a lot of stress for all those crazy things we all may do it it.
      So, maybe some lateral tube for cross support. It does not nessacayvneed to go all the way down to the bottom or half way. But, someway to give it more strength and support besides the disks/pegs in the joints.

    Ok. Just found your channel. I really enjoyed this. I think that dysfunctional table gets me. Now, I'm gonna go binge the rest of you're videos...

    I thought the table was very cool. Your're correct that it's inpractible to set mugs/glasses, etc. Perhaps an added piece of maple in between. Not sure what but someting to allow for liquid vessels to sit without falling through. A taller version of this table would be cool in a foyer or behind a sofa.

    • @shaunboydmadethis
      @shaunboydmadethis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, all good possibilities to make it a little more practical. Would be nice as a taller sofa table, too! Thanks Mark!

    I have a terrible feeling I'm going to laugh every time someone makes a bevel in the future 😂 It may not be the most practical coffee table, but it's gorgeous and unique... I'd definitely enjoy having one like that!

    I really like the design of this. You could include a rebate (rabbet) and recessed the slats deeper for a glass panel across the top if that was an issue - but its really unique as it is.

    Product design vs functionality: which is more important? Put a piece of glass on top of it and forget the question! I love your "real quick"...
