I’m recovering from my second brain cancer tumor removal surgery and you just gave me 15 minuets of escape from my pain and fear. Thank you. Also, Incase nobody ever told you...you’re pretty good with a chisel. 🤗 bless you and your family.
I know you're probably not watching the comments on this video since it's so old, but I wish you would still make more videos like this. I've been watching you since about 2018 and you're the reason I finally got into woodworking in 2020. I'd love more of a how-to series or diy videos. Just a dream though. I want to learn from the master
I love the idea of putting the live edges facing inward gives a gulch/winding river look that is incredible. It was an awesome video, and furniture piece.
i like the way that you left the breadboards proud of the edge, mine have moved (as wood does) and now the little gap looks like a mistake rather than a design feature.
Superb work - instantly recognizable as your own style. So good to see a classic samurai-style video up on your channel again. Thanks for sharing, you've made my day !
Thought I saw "Samurai" out for supper in my hometown...then I saw the "chisel on" shirt and knew for sure. Took a lot of inner strength not to be "that guy" who geeks out and says how big a fan he is...but I am and this video is an example of why. Cheers. P.S. You're welcome for not interrupting your dinner...☺
Nice piece of natural looking furniture. It was nice seeing you break it in with your family. Thank you for sharing these special moments. (You must have swallowed about 5.5 kgs of dust doing this! Greetings from France.
I just found your stuff and it's great to watch. I noticed that you (appeared) to glue the breadboard ends all the way across. Now that it's been a few years, I'm wondering if there been any issue with movement in that joint? And if not, how did you account for that in the glue-up?
WHEN MAN PUTS HIS MIND AND HIS HANDS TOGETHER HE HAS THE ABILITY TO CREATE BREATHTAKING BEAUTY BUT WHAT A SHAME THAT EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES DOES NOT TURN OUT AS BEAUTIFUL AS THIS TABLE. CLASS VIDEO AND THE END PRODUCT, WOW, IT IS A BEAUTY TO BEHOLD.
Turned out stunning. Love the design other than the separation in the middle but that's just stylistic difference and the eye of the beholder. Being a father of 6 myself I was laughing aloud when your son plugged the hole with his body! They will always find a way haha!
You certainly made a beautiful table. The end of the video made it even more fun watching when the family was enjoying a meal together. A nice bit of humor when one the kids decided to stand up in the gap between the boards.
Bro...I have to say - you are just a badass!!! Ive watched a lot of videos from... the same sort of genre... and you bro, are hands down 'Da Man' - A true craftsman! Your skill with.... is second to none! I grew up watching my dad use many of the same tools/instruments you wield... not quite the skillset you possess...but, your video... it's nostalgic - reminds me so much of him and the time he and I shared in the shop. I'm not real sure what to say... watching this just now really moved/made such an impression on me tonight... in so many ways! your video flooded my thoughts with so many of the good things he taught/instilled in me - Thank you! It's been a rough couple years and I forgot what it was like to feel like this - to be so emotional...in a good way! I never 'like', much less 'subscribe'...and I'm freakin' commenting! You have inspired me and for that I thank you!
really amazing sir I am a young man from Indonesia. Beginners in carpentry admire every process of your work, sir. I learned a lot about timber techniques here. I hope you are always there, sir. thank you 👍
You sir are a true craftsman and have patience beyond measure. keep doing what you are doing. Those who gave this video a thumbs down must be some of the most miserable beings on earth.
Recovering from 3rd back surgery and have a complete woodworking shop I can't go in yet. You've inspired me to speed up my rehab lol. You do excellent work and I love the baby crying. Reminds me of my grandchildren. Enjoy every minute they'll be grown in a blink. And yes, I'm glad it wasn't another resin build too.
That's one badass table. I really liked how the table was put together with notches and boring if that's the correct term. Beautiful family table and big enough for guests. Great job.
Beautiful work man. Amazingly tight joinery and details, like the little bow tie splines. Superb. How many total hours for the whole table? Don't worry if the kids put a fork in it... it's all part of life and it was made to be used!
Jesse you knocked this out of the park so freaking incredible my brother. Such beautiful joinery and the top so so awesome. Great to see your first family meal and REALITY HITS lmao but hey it is what it is and that’s the most important thing FAMILY FIRST!!
Beautiful. Wish I could pull something like that off. You make it look ridiculously easy, which speaks to your incredible skill. Thank you for sharing. Brilliant work. Really.
LOL those kids are awesome!!!!!! Reminds me and my cousin putting pitted black olives on our fingers messing around....The table is amazing thanks for sharing
Watching this great work is a pleasure for me. Not only your work but also your love to your family. You bring happiness to this world Samurai. Respect from Indonesia
I like his work, but 10 part project vids are not satisfying. He has changed since he started out, and not for the better. Getting a vid out daily shouldn't be the goal if there's not going to be any progress made. It's a pretty common complaint among long time subscribers. He's part of the daily video grind that has taken over so many TH-cam channels recently.
OMG that was an epic build! I am truly impressed with the skills you have and the old world building style. I only saw the few screws to secure the table top, and I dont think you even needed those you could have tenoned them on. Anyway Super impressive. Any consideration about epoxying the middle to make a river or lava theme? I have a long way to go before I can attempt that table.
yes, that is right but I have seen awesome work with epoxy, done the person spent hours on the work. it was sold and lost were it had gone too the chair as well turn out well. as to the sale of the set, he pieced it very very high and never want to sell it but the person did pay the full piece of the sit, the table lite up in the middle and the work in the middle was awesome it gave that table life the bark of that tree was used in the middle give that table it looks too bad the craftsmen build it lost his home from a wildfire and lost all the pictures of the table lost the person's who bought it. the home was replaced he has not been building mush now lost interest after the home and the wood shop burned the tools were handed down from generations in his side of the family
Dude, what a build. I love the live edge and bread board combo, I’ve never seen that before. Was there any thought to filling the void with epoxy? If so, what was the rationale?? Stunning
I think the breadboard ends of this table are unique to this table alone. Because the two halves of the slabs are not connected, that reduces the amount of expansion and contraction that would have to be dealt with. The wood could also be quarter sawn (nots sure in this case), which would further reduce the amount of expansion/contraction in the horizontal plane.
Well done ,sir!!! The family looks amazing, and the table as well. Keep up the phenomenal work. I never get tired of seeing a true Craftsman shining at his craft. I bless you to be fruitful and multiply in every way every day in Jesus name, amen.
The table is art! I was following every detail since I’m all for complicated projects but when I saw four boys my eyes froze and realized that I’m behind with two boys. You’re me in the future 🤗

So much respect for not using epoxy... Love to see a table like this one!! AWEsMe work!!

WOW!! Mind blown! That is a gorgeous piece of furniture art. Nice to see that no epoxy used to fill the centre. Beautiful!

I've seen a LOT of tables on TH-cam. This one is the most beautiful I have seen to date! Absolutely stunning!

I'm so glad you are back to this type of footage. Love this so much. It's an inspiration.
This is a pure art. Breathtaking.
One of the best table production I watched online. What a great job.
Nothing more soothing than a well executed job. Kudos to your craftsmanship.
I love the style of the carpenter,he is highly skilled, hoping u many more can satisfied ur work...good job Joe...
Beautiful piece of art.
The moment of panic with your son was great, I was wondering about that during the build and I'm so glad you got footage of that moment!
Everything you touch is so beautiful!
Now...go and make some matching chairs!
You are SUCH an great craftsman!

Beautiful family! Table is nice too.
tables are easier
Jp Kalishek as compared to what? A wood post, a chair, a stool? I believe your point is moot as they all take considerable skills
david lahey, he means building a beautiful table is easier than building a beautiful family. I'd have to agree.
Kareke
daddie´s table!!! was the best part of the video, agree the table is nice too.

Awesome table. Love the wedges through the trestle and the hand made butterflies. Of course the joinery on the legs. Fantastic!
Family interactive table. You'll know what the food they don't like might go hiding. Stunning table. Thanks for sharing yr talent.
That was just amazing. And the family scenes were excellent!

This video is like an anti-Alec Steele video. ONE PART!! Amazing work!
Different styles, Alec does daily vids, so it leads to multiple vids per project. both are awesome!

one of the best wood job i saw in my life, congratulations 1000 x
I LOVE that live edge down the center. Beautiful piece.
Absolutely brilliant editing.. that violin while carving on fast forward.. magic.
Beautiful piece of work. Is that Elm of some sort...? One of the few hardwoods available here in the North West of Scotland. Best aye!
I think its London Plane, in previous videos he shows it being milled.
What is London Plane? I haven't heard of that.
Ah... Okay. Thanks for that.
a masterpiece, including video editing
Amazing work!!!...and congratulations for your wonderful family!!!
Nice work, your workmanship is extra ordinary!
OMG that was an epic build! I am truly impressed with the skills you have and the old world building style. Luar biasa

Awesome! A family table to be cherished for sure...
You did a wonderful job on the table it's beautiful keep up the good work my friend
Thank you for not doing epoxy fill. Love the look!
Seems to be the trend right now. Thankful as well!
Yeah, I preferred the kid fill too!
Yes. Instagram is FULL of epoxy
Epoxy this
Epoxy that
Epoxy crap

too bad the craftsmen build it lost his home from a wildfire and lost all the pictures of the table lost the person's who bought it. the home was replaced he has not been building mush now lost interest after the home and the wood shop burned the tools were handed down from generations in his side of the family
One of your best vids yet. Combination of the project, camera angles, edit, music and then family, made it an absolute pleasure to watch. Thank you!
Dude, what a build. I love the live edge and bread board combo, I’ve never seen that before. Was there any thought to filling the void with epoxy? If so, what was the rationale?? Stunning
Related: I thought that you don't actually glue the breadboard, but instead run dowels through to attach it to the tabletop.
I think the breadboard ends of this table are unique to this table alone. Because the two halves of the slabs are not connected, that reduces the amount of expansion and contraction that would have to be dealt with. um not sure if you noticed but there's like a big crack down the center...
Just a small crack. It's not like a kid could go through it or something. :)
Its a dust gap
gap for expansion
A. Boisjoli: nice...now he's going to be self conscience and embarrassed about it...why'd you have to bring up such a small, barely noticeable, hard to see thing like that?
Actually, that allows a Ninja warrior to spring up from underneath. They like to make a dramatic entrance
You never cease to amaze me! Beautiful. I hope you and your family are staying healthy.
Very creative design. I really mesmerized to watch the work it took. Resin river filled the gap or maybe a glass top would be nice too.

Video's great - *all of them!*
Gorgeous table but how will the top be able to move with the breadboards being glued all the way across? Wont that lead to cracking?
and the top being screwed on, seems like a pretty big oversight.
The table has a giant hole in the middle of it, I don't think he's worried about additional cracks lol
yes. yes it will. his insignia said 2005, I wonder if this table is still around??
@@milesj.943 I'm completely new to this and was wondering how the top was attached and was a bit surprised when i saw 2 wood screws. what is the proper way?
Table top buttons.
You can make them out of wood or they have steel premade ones. They all ride in a groove in the stretchers or legs to allow for expansion and contractions.
