Be careful of the bee man he doesn’t like to talk to people who think his film is overrated that it just saved a franchise from the last knight(but respect your opinion)
This may sound crazy I am not really into the masterpiece figures that much not saying that I hate them far from it they look cool but if I bought one I would have no idea where to put it bc my bedroom has basically no more space
I often wonder if it was any other director if Gary Chalk would've been the Live Action Optimus due to him being the character for the late 90s and early 00s. I wouldn't have minded it, but it would be very weird in comparison.
I love both the movies and the g1 cartoon. If it wasn’t for the movies, I wouldn’t have been a fan and I might have wouldn’t have even discovered G1 if the movies didn’t exist.
Very true but also lead to a misconception to Optimus being a stoic kill machine not a kind gentle father figure that shoots basketball. Cullen even only does the movie voice not the G1 gentler charismatic one
I'm a fan of the bayverse its what got me into transformers, then I started watching G1, a couple years later then prime, now im watching shows like unicron trilogy and a couple of siege episodes. I agree with you that people shouldn't bully others if they like something different. There's more to life than Transformers.
You're watching the Unicron trilogy? Good luck! Energon to me is the bottom of the barrel for the franchise. A show so incredibly dull, I can't even remember most of the things that happened in it!
There needs to be more styilized designs for toys and cartoons characters, like transformers prime. The g1 designs are good but they need to be less blocky and a bit more sleek.
*This.* I can't stress this enough, I learned to like and even love some G1 designs, they are iconic sure, but for the love of GOD, not everything NEEDS to be g1 inspired or have the same blocky shapes. The reason Transformers as a whole survived through the years is because they changed and adapted, but now all of a sudden everything is G1 this and G1 that. C'mon, we like variety too.
Legacy waves 1 and 2 are a great example of this. Hasbro knew they weren't cutting it simply G1-ing characters like Arcee and Knockout, and now they're beginning to add more curves and flares to figures like Animated Prowl, Skyquake, and others going forward.
@@bradensmith8682 that's still not entirely good when tf prime figures of all things SHOULDN'T get g1 make overs. Skyquake as a g1 inspired figure works surprisingly well but he was better off looking closer to how he did in the actual show, same with animated prowl.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts hasbro should’ve just made show accurate prime and animated characters instead of what we got because what we got was g1 washed versions of the characters that took away the personality of the characters
I have a weird one: transformers having the same name but having otherwise little in common is a staple of the franchise and shouldn’t be seen as a surprise when it happens. Other than Optimus, Starscream and Megatron, all characters have had incarnations that are completely different from the original versions, and this comes from way before the Bay films.
I did not expect the bumblebee movie hot takes, I honestly really like the film and is by far the best transformers movie without a doubt, (At least in my opinion). If you come into the movie expecting cool action scenes and none stop fighting then you will find it disappointing. The cybertron scene actually hurts the film more then it does help. Also, Yes Bay prime is fucking cool but it just rubs me the wrong way hearing that since it completely defies what his character was supposed to represent. It hurts even more hearing the interview with Cullen's brother saying to peter to not be a hollywood hero which is what exactly what bay prime is.
A lot of people consider bumblebee the best TF movie, so you're definitely not alone. But I don't hate it for the lack of action, I hate it because the story and character feel like some of the corniest, laziest things put to film in the last decade lol. It's such an uninspired and cringy plot and character development for me.
I really liked Bumblebee. People hate on it because it didn’t have as much action, but I felt like that was a positive. With the Bayverse movies, I felt like at times it was TOO MUCH action that kept going on and on. Bumblebee had a much more simpler story, sometimes less it more. To me, I also liked Charlie a lot, she had great development with Bumblebee
Same here. But I loved the Cybertron scene. I loved the designs too even though it’s G1. I agree on your take on bayverse prime. Not everything has to be G1, but I did appreciate what hasbro has given us about it. I like both bayverse and G1. Edit: Regardless if Bumblebee’s mediocre or not, it’s better than the last knight.
I love the bumblebee movie the bay verse movies annoyed me ever since I watched a video about how through a different perspective the deceptions were the good guys and how the human characters are some of the most insufferable parasites or creatures and it made a lot of sense to me and fixed most plot holes if you consider the autobots to be a untruthful narrator.
I like the way Diamondbolt handled his hot takes: at least once that I know of, he walked into his room as "the opinion police" when he said that Transformers Prime's version of Optimus Prime was a boring character.
I think it's telling that everytime you spoke up to defend the Bay films, it was to praise the mans very real skill in shot composition, framing and sound design, but never once mentioned a personality or story element that clicked more than the comics or various cartoons. I agree, Bay movies are probably the best the Transformers will even pull off "looking real". Accross all the films, the only thing that permenantly added to Transformers stories was... The Allspark Cube. No character, event, or personality presentation has ever filtered back to become a new normal or recurring element. It's... a really expensive and disjointed rearrangment of franchise elements with absolutely nothing to add onto the series as a whole. At least Animated gave us Bulkhead and the link between Ultra Magnus and hammers that was a thing for like 5 years there...
@swordigosung994 Oh, fair! I beleive Barricade was in the old War for Cybertron game and Blackout got art for Animated... did they show up anywhere else? Just curious at this point!
Rotb wheeljack had a good design. It really worked with the robots in disguise, rather than Michael Bay's sporty cars. I like the concept, the voice and personality just kind of broke it for me and for the record I don't hate all the Nice cars Michael Bay used, we did get some good designs out of them.
FOR ITS TIME Beast Wars had revolutionary cgi but we can all be honest that it really hasn’t aged well (note: I actually like the animation) Then again its fantastic storytelling and characters is what’s getting people coming back to it all these years later
Honesty it’s fine but in my opinion isn’t really worth going back to and there are many other cartoons with much better story telling and characters such as gravity falls that I would rather watch
@@sharkydude9164 Dude, its ok and worth it to go back. Not everything has to be the best. Don't limit your scope to the top teir modern cartoons. Also beast wars at times is better than gravity falls.
I've never cared for good graphics or high fidelity art styles, either in video games or animation, so BW will never turn me off. But I also grew up with friends who couldn't play anything if the graphics were "bad", and I always wanted the media I loved to be remastered so they could enjoy it too.
That burp after when you saw that comment after someone saying TLK is the best transformers movie is pretty much my reaction when hearing that from another human being😂
Rumble was one of the first Transformer toys I ever got as a kid. He was red. The cartoon naming confused me and felt like an error. Turns out it _was_ an error. if you look up the original cartoon design sheets, it even says the red one is Rumble. HOWEVER that being said, if you grew up used to the cartoon naming scheme and Rumble is the blue one to you that's cool too! Rumble is still superior to Frenzy no matter the color scheme!
I personally use a fan term to refer to gatekeeping g1 fans. Those individuals are geewunners while everyone else who is a fan of G1 and doesn't gatekeep are g1 fans.
Ain’t no way he said that Peter Cullen shouldn’t voice Optimus prime 💀 Peter Cullen legit helped the line so much as voicing Optimus being strong, wise,Nobel, loving and caring which inspired many many kids with Peter Cullen amazing voice as one quote Optimus said that meant a lot to those was “Hold onto your dreams,as the future is built in dreams@
I'd love to see another one of these videos sometime! It was really fun hearing your opinions on, well, everyone else's opinions, even the non opinions/poorly articulated/weak ones. Your editing really makes everything pop, and turns even the most bland screenshots into something interesting! Def one of the best 'hot take review' videos I've seen in a long time :)
I thought TF 2 was pretty bad, it quite literally had no script at all, and the Fallen was just a boring villain. For me, the only redeeming part of the movie is the forest battle which is my most favourite Bayverse fight scene. Also, the Twins were probably not seen as racist by TF fans, but regular movie goers like families and such thought that it was racist.
You might not see them as racist, but two characters who speak in ways stereotypical of “black gang members”, while Tom Kenny voices one of them, who have large ears, eyes, and golden buck teeth seem pretty damn bad
Ah yes, having the two black coded characters in your film not being able to read, depicted with sterotyped voices and appearances was not racist at all...
Excellent video as per usual but my only point of contention is the beast wars design. They’re among some of my favorites in the franchise. I feel like season 1 designs were the best and they slowly got worse with every season though
I agree that Beast Wars has probably the best designs in this franchise. Although, I do disagree on them being worse each season. I absolutely adore the later designs like Rampage, Depth Charge, Optimal Optimus, TM 1 and 2 Megatron, TM 1 Rattrap, Silverbolt, TM Blackarachnia, TM 1 Tarantulas, etc.
I'm glad you enjoy the designs! But I can barely look at them because they make me cringe so hard 😂every family member/friend I've ever shown laughs out loud when I show them because they think it's a joke lollll
I thought the TM design were cool when I watched it as a kid, even got quite a few figures from that series. However they don't age well, looking back, the only good one is probably red dragon Megatron. Wished I could have brought that one.
Honestly my unpopular opinion is that rotb is trash. Rotb just feels like such a shallow, empty, and corperate movie that just has a bland story with bland characters I can't be bothered to carea about. Watching rotb made me appreciate how much of a master Bay was at creating that grand sense of scale and spectacle. I took that feeling of awe I got after watching a transformers movie for granted and only after seeing ROTB do I understand it takes a master to make you feel that way. Also I'm not on the more toxic side of the fandom so just going off my experiences but I think that people suck up to hasbro too much. It's hard to give a single criticism without someone saying "WeLl AcTuAlLy, BeCaUsE oF tHe BuDgEt LiMiTaTiOnS...". I understand there are usually reasons for compromises but that doesn't mean I can't point them out and acknowledge their existence. And I can get annoyed that a figure didn't turn out well or say that I don't like it. And lastly, I think ROTF (and AOE to a lesser extent) are very entertaining and fun movies. ROTF has that typical bay camp and AOE has some great moments and one of my favorite TF story ideas. Even if you don't agree about AOE, you ahve to admit that the forest fight and Shanghai scene are two of the best pieces of transformers media period.
After watching rise of the beast a second time and coming down from transformers hype the film is mid as hell and the plot armor is so blatant like the bumblebee movie and for some reason paramount can’t come out with it that it’s a reboot honestly I wouldn’t preferred it if 4 and 5 got redconed as a alternative time line after dark of the moon have Michael bay direct the action scenes and cinematography and have a actual good writing team
Even tho I didn’t like Aoe and rotf objectively taking off my nostalgia glasses. They had great moments Shanghai scene, forest battle, optimus vs grimlock, dinobot charge, and the fallen introduction at the beginning of rotf and the osts and scores for all five films are amazing to listen to. And the fandom sucking up to hasbro is too true the legacy prime and animated figures being g1 catered, rise of the beast taking 5 years with delays only to turn out mid and we only have inaccurate figures to represent these characters is unacceptable
I agree, there's too many fans who just say "they're all great movies" as if we can't separate that statement into which ones were good. However I've rarely, if ever, seen Bay movie fans visiting other G1 topic videos and fan forums to trash on it and say "BAYVERSE IS THE ONLY GOOD THING IN TRANSFORMERS" the way G1 fans do. So while Bay fans can be annoying, they're not bullies.
@papermelon and I have. countless times, I've seen bayverse fans bash other shows because the thought of redempeming the decepticons instead of killing them without mercy was entertained. Then you have the whole earthspark debacle, where people were saying a fictional character should die a horrible death because they're non-binary, with bayverse optimus being they're so called peak of transformers.
FYI more people should read the IDW comics, Last stand of the wreckers and the solo Kup. Unrelated the new WheelJack is hated my Latinos since it is racist ( what is racist to ablation is not the same to someone outside of the culture). Skids and Mudflap the second coming. It is not the design but the personality that really pisses people off.
I like how bumblebee and rise of the beasts still sticked to the source material and had its changes btw g1 designs are mid (if u are dumb mid isnt bad its supposed to be in the middle)
G1 designs were interesting, Bumblebee when he became Goldbug literally just changed his color to gold. I love bumblebee so much, but Goldbug is really funny.
TFA prime is the best Optimus Ever. he is the perfect example of how to change a character and still be true to the original, in the fact that he's young and Dosent know everything yet, But He is compassionate, He doesn't even kill a single transformer, instead shows them mercy, and at the end His character gets the "Matrix" Ans becomes the True leader.
6:15 I don’t hate Bayverse Optimus. I respect peoples opinions on it, personally I’m not a big fan. But there was a point where Bayverse Optimus made even Peter Cullens uncomfortable and that was in DOTM when Optimus said “We will kill them all”. That being said, I do agree that there are some fans that are too nit picky.
2:40 honestly, I've seen this kind of behavior from other transformers continuities. Like people immediately hated Legacy Bulkhead, Arcee, and Knockout just because they don't look like the Prime versions.
I think it’s completely different things tbh. We’ve had rehashed G1 designs for a decade and a half at this point so someone upset that a new toy isn’t spot on with its G1 design is bonkers bc there’s been at least 3 other toys in the past that have probably all been centered around that character from G1 but with Prime and some other continuities, as soon as the shows over, we never get those designs again. So to offer the designs back but make them nearly unrecognizable from the shows they’re from makes it pointless to bring them back at all
Tbf, having prime characters and then g1 ing them while the g1 toys look like from g1 and then having toys from other continuities actually look like from those continuities feels like a slap to the face and further empowerment of g1ers This is coming from a Transformers Animated fan btw. I have the legacy prowl and think he’s real fun but I wish/hope future Animated toys look like they came from Animated since I missed out on some as a kid. To have an Animated *anyone* in my collection would be awesome, but if they’ll just be made to appeal to g1 designs while other continuities get their accurate representations feels a bit crumy
I agree that all groups of TF fans can get too intense, but G1 fans are the only ones who will literally bully and harass other fans that have nothing to do with them. TF Prime fans were angry at the Legacy figures because they were supposed to be TF prime designs, so it makes sense that they were upset when it wasn't done properly. On the other hand, G1 fans will infiltrate videos and topics that have nothing to do with them just to hate on that topic.
@@papermelon facts my favorite transformers show is transformers prime so to finally get modern engineered figures to only appeal to g1 fans was a huge slap in the face
Not sure if this is a hot take but I gonna say it. Transformers Animatet is, fore me personly, the best incernation of Transformers. It has the best Optimus, the best Starscreme, the best Prowl, and most importent, the second, maybe even best version of Megatron. I fully admit I am biased as heck here. Animatet came out just when I realy got into Transformers so I have a genuine deep attachment to it.
In today's movie standards, ROTF will be celebrated...look at how bad CGI are these days, comparing the CGI in ROTF, it is still miles better than current movieS CGI standards
The cycle of redos that are becoming increasingly common in Studio Series (Magnus this year, Springer next year, etc.) send a terrible message regarding variety in the line, especially when stuff like this is taking priority over TF4 and 5 main characters. It’s especially weird seeing how much better Legacy handles character selection and variety, by comparison.
True, I’m starting to really get PO’d at how many G1 redoes we’re getting in Studio Series when there’s still dozens of movie characters who have yet to see the light of day 🤦♂️. Redo as many characters as you want AFTER covering the basis first.
My Hot Takes: -Energon wasn't that bad -We need more unique take on Starscream in future cartoons/movies (similar to Armada) -Hasbro should collaborate with Studio Trigger to make a Transformers anime series
The "G1 fan" stuff you discuss is literally the same thing as people who say their favorite band(s) "sold out" or their "first album was their best album" and everything they made after that sucks.
honestly beast wars doesnt look half bad, i feel as if it adds to the show and it stands out. imo none of the transformers look bad (in beast wars), the humans though? oh boy thats awful
Beast wars is amazing, tho i feel like it took a bat to its kneecap when it introduced the transmetal designs to the autobots lol, why do the bad guys always look cooler lmao
Bayverse sucks, not because it's not G1 but because it uses the Cybertronians like prop pieces rather than the main characters. Bumblebee has been treated like a dog/pet through every movie. They waste so much on the human characters when THEY AREN'T THE TOYS THEY'RE SELLING US!
I’m fine with G1 and Bayverse. Bayverse just focuses on the people more than bots, G1 was the starting ground so while I like the idea of respecting it, I’m fine with updates
i’m 17 and was first introduced to transformers when transformers prime beast hunters was airing, a couple years later i must’ve been somewhere from 8-9 i remember watching toy videos and asked my mum to sign up to youtube just so i could comment something like “transformers prime is the best looking ever” or something stupid like that and the amount of older men attacking someone who clearly talks like a child is still so wild to think about, ever since i’ve just stayed away from the comments on transformers videos and it’s sad to see nothings changed but also pretty funny looking back at how one comment caused such a big reaction and still does to this day
I think what people tend to forget about Bayverse prime is that he has been fighting a war for an EXTREMELY. LONG. TIME. And if you ask me, any person would get sick and tired of constantly fighting a war. Oh, and for the people who accuse Bayverse prime for "committing war crimes" even if you're right, that's still NOTHING compared to all the insane war crimes the Deceptions have committed
I prefer the Dorito Starscream over his G1 design Revenge of the Fallen is literally my all time favorite movie The Decepticons were the good guys in the Bay Trilogy Hugo Weaving was just as good of a Megatron as Frank Welker War For Cybertron Trilogy Elita-1 is hotter than ROTB Arcee
ROTB Arcee's voice just doesn't suit right for me. Also WHY the hell do they all have such goddamn corny ass lines????? I just could not take them seriously for a good portion of the movie.
Hot Take, Im sick and tired of almost the same characters appearing in every show, I wish we could see more minor and obscure characters get more love in anything that Isn't the comics, im so tired of people just using the same rotation of characters to use in a show without doing anything interesting with them or having a unique take like Prime Soundwave or Armada Starscream.
Earthrise gave us both the best Optimus and best Rodimus Prime figures. Also, for some reason, for me, Rodimus has always been the better, more substantive character and leader than Optimus ever was.
The take on reviewers makes me laugh because many complaints I've seen do hate on them for being nitpicky, but just as many complain that reviewers just praise the toys and never mention any negatives. So either they are too nitpicky or too praiseworthy, it really seems people can't find a middle ground.
This is SO true haha. I've seen an equal amount of comments hating on reviewers for being too "critical" and then the other half complaining for not being "harsh" enough. My short reviews go through the exact same thing. People ultimately just get mad when you don't agree with them, they don't actually care about a "middle ground" lol.
The reviewer comment really hits home. I can't make an honest review if I pretend to hate/love something, I agree some reviewers might be overly hyped or critical, but not all. Hell, I was told I was overly hateful for one critique in an entire video.
Exactly. What's frustrating is that nobody actually cares whether you're "too harsh" or "too easy" on a figure: they just get mad when you disagree with their opinions on something. I promise they wouldn't be getting made if they agreed with your complaint. It's gotten to the point where it's literally toxic positivity. People yell at you no matter how constructively you give any criticism, and it's just because they disagree.
Energon was a pretty good show to me. The concepts in it were great, Megatron is at his most evil, and it was really the last time Rodimus was treated with any kind of respect.
My biggest hot take is the Bayverse fans who talk about the movies as the best of TF and everything else sucks is just the other side of the coin than "GeeWunners." If your opinion is, "My corner of the franchise is great, everything else sucks" you're the problem, PERIOD. I've seen many Bayverse fans act this way, oftentimes while simultaneously putting down GeeWunners for doing the exact same thing. Like what you like, but accept that others will like other things, and we'll be much better off as a fandom. Even better, open yourself up to other parts of the fandom, you'll probably be better off for it. I spent the beginning of July rewatching all of the Bayverse movies after having a lukewarm to negative reaction to them. I came away understanding why some love them, finding things I liked in all 5 of them, noticing their flaws, but overall, enjoying the Hell out of myself. I don't think they are the best TF media has to offer, and I certainly would place some of the cartoons above them in terms of quality, but to say they're all horrible isn't fair either.
I do agree that everyone needs to chill out. Just because it's your favorite doesn't mean everything else is bad. However, the difference between G1 fans and bayverse fans is that G1 fans bully and harass bayverse fans even on videos/forums ABOUT bayverse stuff. They'll go to a movie topic video and comment stuff like "wow you guys still like this trash??" for no reason, when it doesn't even concern them. While Bayverse fans can mock G1, they don't ever "invade" G1 topics and videos just to trash on those people. Every group needs to take a breath, but G1 fans can often be straight up mean to people for no reason. They need to STOP.
As a G1 fan primarily, I fully agree that the relevance in modern pop culture that Bay-era stuff brought to the franchise has worked out for all of us. More eyes on the brand means more incentive for them to pop out merch from all eras, rather than letting designs or characters just drop off. (I mean they still DO that, just less than they would, if that makes sense?)
I have to agree with the bumblebee comment after watching your 2nd hot take video where you mentioned how low our bar is for good stuff. Initially I thought it was the best live action, but I was just seeing minor things I wanted in other movies and then thought those parts made the whole movie great
Here's a Hot-take on Transformers! As disappointing and controversial as the reveal of Blitzing being the Decepticon who attacks Bumblebee and not Starscream was... I freaking loved Blitzwing's design! Even if it wasn't true to its g1 design you gotta admit it's one of the best seeker designs in live action along with Nitro Zeus and Thundercracker. Also, I believe that every villain that has come after the Micheal bay movies is honestly cooler.
ngl, i agree with the bayverse tiktok one cause in those comment sections its very likely you see someone dismiss the whole cartoons and franchise as childish just because its a cartoon and act so high and mighty, its the same sort of fan like a geewuner, both horrible
Jesus, I only thought that the small arguments but turning into big crap was only in the mcu fandom there is some shit there and phase four was one of them. (Also I love your vids! I love transformers and these are pretty valid you just got a sub!)
I am a G1 fan, But I’m just saying, I don’t hate on other people for liking bayverse, and other shows/movies. In my opinion, I think that most transformers media is pretty good. Anyways love your vids Man! Thanks for the awesome Content
it is crazy, these are some hot takes lmao, I never thought that people would ever think that the movies are better than everything else. I guess its just cuz they look cool? all the animated series, comics, and games have so much rich lore and characterization to them. No hate, I'm just amazed cuz I've been watching some TF content creators for a while and I've never seen so many movie glazers lmao
Thanks for reviewing my comment! Can't wait for more hot take videos since there are endless opinions to choose from. Absolutely loved the skit at the end too
I wish there was a sort of middle ground with a G1 style megatron that turns into a tank or whatever but can actually have an "unofficial " gun mode snuck into it.
Was part of the "Geewunners" when I was younger. Was very annoyed that Bayverse came a long and all these young punks were saying how this new, violent, flashy Prime was better than the older, wiser Leader I knew. Eventually, I grew to appreciate how much Bay brought to the franchise. I still hate him as a filmmaker and I still can't stand the live actions movies (with the exception of Bumblebee), but one has to objectively admit that the IP would not have lasted this long and been this healthy if those films didn't bring in the younger audience. And the toys from the films won me over. I still love my 2007 Leader Class Optimus Prime almost as much as MP-10 (which is better than MP-44. Fight me.)!
My Hot takes- 1. Prime Arcee was the hottest female transformer for me- 2. The Decepticons should’ve focused on trying to save the hatchlings in ROTF. It would’ve made they’re overall goal trying to retrieve the allspark more compelling to me, and would’ve struck as tragic when they lost- 3. TF3, TF1, and ROTB are the best movies in the franchise- 4. They should’ve stook to the ending for the novel Adaptation of Transformers Dark Of The Moon, would’ve been a better ending to the franchise than making AOE- 5. I love the concept of Optimus being a knight even tho it makes no sense- 6. I understand the Valid criticism for Bumblebee, but I thought it was Ok. I really liked it- 7. I would’ve preferred a Sequel to Bumblebee that includes the Deceptions since we only got a few glances of them during the opening cutscene on Cybertron, and were only left with Dropkick and Shatter. Why not use the Decepticons since they’re just as iconic as the Autobots? Then you could make a 3rd film focused on the Maximals and Unicron- 8. Optimus Primal was the best character in ROTB- 9. Armada Starscream was my favorite version of the character overall- 10. Peter absolutely rocks as Optimus Prime!
TF Animated Optimus is not a typical "wise fatherly soft loving" Prime. He's a younger and inexperienced Prime who is blunt and hasn't built up a ton of wisdom yet. He makes a lot of mistakes, both as a leader and a friend. He doesn't always know best, but he does learn and grow from his mistakes giving him more character development than many other versions of Optimus Primes.
Bayverse designs are kinda good as transformers designs, but not for there characters. Kinda like designs from the armada trilogy. If they were new characters I think people would like them more.
I always thought that many of the Bayverse were just ugly and sometimes a little boring, and for some reason a few people called me a Geewuner for that.
I'll add to this take: All Live Action designs of obscure or new Characters are better than those with popular G1 character names: Blackout, Barricade, Dropkick, Shatter, Reedman, the individual Constructicons, etc.
Omg, you are the exact same as me. I agree as the same thing as you. Dotm is best movie, character development and design is on the top and the betrayal was very good. Almost Every thing was on top, wtf is knight optimus? Why? Where are the truck parts? I think the beginning brown optimus prime in AOE was better than knight optimus. Yell at me all you want.
I completely agree with how Transformers works best in a animation format. especifically the "Super Robot" ones That being said i really just want a new Transformers anime like we had in the 2000s
@@papermelon also ik I'm late, but is it just me who thinks the animated Megatron design is the best design for him? I just loved how he towered over everyone with that menacing grey and red aura. I'm talking about the one before he blew up, not the disappointing 2nd one. He held bumblebee in his hand like a doll. That is peak Megatron and you can't convince me otherwise.
I love the bayverse designs, mainly because of the toy engineering, I'm a suckered for a complex transformation that is hard but I don't wanna pull my eyes out and studio series treads that line amazingly. Also modern Optimus primes personality sucks
Hasbro needs to have a break on making more g1 toys and some fans think so because everyone wants an updated look for the animated designs, and at 1st I was upset that the g1 characters were being added to studio series, the whole point of studio series is to cover the live action toys and I thought it was dumb that they didn't get their own line, if the hateful g1 fans don't like it then they will never accept that the toy lines are all about them
G1 being shoved in everything transformers related being studio series, prime, animated and etc really lowers the appeal a have for transformers the only thing keeping me in the fandom are the movies, transformers reactivate and the studio series line
Bro if you don’t like G1 in studio series, no one says you have to buy them. And since they’re a subgenre, they’re not even taking shelf space away from other studio series figures.
funnily enough the fact about G1 cultists also applies to aggressive fans of other TF installments like Prime, Animated, BW, and even Bayverse - there will be a bad apple everywhere. 40 year old grown up men who keep whining about 30+ year old cartoon from their childhood are just the loudest ones. Respect other continuities brothers, enjoy Transformers as a whole.
I feel like the G1 designs are really good, but they’ve looked their best in other media. When given more detail and depth, the designs can shine. They still have that simple appeal but with the extra complexity, they can create more detailed transformations and have more complex movements.
Oh boy these comments about to get spicy 😂🥵
Be careful of the bee man he doesn’t like to talk to people who think his film is overrated that it just saved a franchise from the last knight(but respect your opinion)
This may sound crazy I am not really into the masterpiece figures that much not saying that I hate them far from it they look cool but if I bought one I would have no idea where to put it bc my bedroom has basically no more space
Can you do more shorts pls
I'm not sure if this counts as a hot take but the ROTB and Bumblebee movie have the best Bumblebee design
@@SilentSniperF19 I feel the same way I’d rather buy five generations figures
Michael Bay is the reason why a new generation of fans get to hear Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime.
I often wonder if it was any other director if Gary Chalk would've been the Live Action Optimus due to him being the character for the late 90s and early 00s. I wouldn't have minded it, but it would be very weird in comparison.
did the guy voice act other characters aside form the donkey from whinnie the pooh?
I love both the movies and the g1 cartoon. If it wasn’t for the movies, I wouldn’t have been a fan and I might have wouldn’t have even discovered G1 if the movies didn’t exist.
Bayverse Transformers 1-3 were awesome (2 less so but it's not a horrible movie). 4 & 5 are ok.

@@greendemon905 I watch a couple of episodes so far I really like it.
@@MaxMax-ok1ek Glad you like it. The lifeless CGI models and the very existence of Kicker make me never want to see it again.
The blocky designs are meh

He also did that in the beast machines episode

I think modern Barricade and Blackout can count as Bayverse characterization that have become staple.
One thing that unfortunately has become a staple from those movies is bumblebees radio voice
@@Susi092 Forgot about it. I think it is a unique trait for a transformer, but maybe suit someone else better.
I feel like the bay films are this fandom’s man of steel equivalent
@swordigosung994 Oh, fair!
FOR ITS TIME Beast Wars had revolutionary cgi but we can all be honest that it really hasn’t aged well (note: I actually like the animation)
Then again its fantastic storytelling and characters is what’s getting people coming back to it all these years later

Beast Wars had the second saddest character death in Transformers history.
I've never cared for good graphics or high fidelity art styles, either in video games or animation, so BW will never turn me off. But I also grew up with friends who couldn't play anything if the graphics were "bad", and I always wanted the media I loved to be remastered so they could enjoy it too.
That burp after when you saw that comment after someone saying TLK is the best transformers movie is pretty much my reaction when hearing that from another human being😂
The only correct response 😂
This is a golden compliment, thanks so much man! I’ll hopefully be dropping part 2 for this next week sometime :)
Tf 2 was pretty good and I don’t see the twins as rascist
Smells like nostalgia ☠️
No yeah it’s a pretty good game. I don’t see how it’s racist. Maybe demo man can be a little iffy but overall it holds up well.
I mostly agree, but I'd say it started to redeem itself in the fight scenes
Here's some of mine; bayverse fans also suffer from mob mentality. There's a difference between enjoying the franchise and enjoying the characters
G2 laser optimus is peak optimus design
When it comes to reviewers you and Emgo are the only ones I’ve never seen go full on hateful when reviewing a figure.

Pretty much valid but the bumblebee attack is something I will not stand for.

No seriously that’s a good point those toys aren’t to bad for what they are
I think it’s completely different things tbh. So to offer the designs back but make them nearly unrecognizable from the shows they’re from makes it pointless to bring them back at all
Tbf, having prime characters and then g1 ing them while the g1 toys look like from g1 and then having toys from other continuities actually look like from those continuities feels like a slap to the face and further empowerment of g1ers
This is coming from a Transformers Animated fan btw.
0:10 this man needs to be on several watchlists
In today's movie standards, ROTF will be celebrated...look at how bad CGI are these days, comparing the CGI in ROTF, it is still miles better than current movieS CGI standards
I rewatched ROTF last night and couldn't believe how stunning the CGI looks. What a spectacle
My Hot Takes:
-Energon wasn't that bad
-We need more unique take on Starscream in future cartoons/movies (similar to Armada)
-Hasbro should collaborate with Studio Trigger to make a Transformers anime series
The "G1 fan" stuff you discuss is literally the same thing as people who say their favorite band(s) "sold out" or their "first album was their best album" and everything they made after that sucks.

I prefer the Dorito Starscream over his G1 design
Revenge of the Fallen is literally my all time favorite movie
The Decepticons were the good guys in the Bay Trilogy
Hugo Weaving was just as good of a Megatron as Frank Welker
War For Cybertron Trilogy Elita-1 is hotter than ROTB Arcee
Hot dog these are some spicy ones 😭
2:00 we got a mainline Optimus that turns into a gun, but no Megatron lol.
True, but let's not pretend like anyone would be satisfied if that was the type of gun they turned Megatron into lol.
Sorry for being a late subscriber; it started with me watching your shorts to binge watch your videos. I love your content. I can't wait for more.
Never too late, welcome to the channel man!
My heart actually dropped on the Peter Cullen one 😭
G1 Arcee’s design is cooler than Prime’s Arcee.
You are by far the best channel I've found in 2023
Energon was a pretty good show to me. The concepts in it were great, Megatron is at his most evil, and it was really the last time Rodimus was treated with any kind of respect.
Why Starscream body of Bayverse is a Dorito?
Hey I loved campiness and designs of beast wars! But true it didn’t age well.
Glad you like it!
Evry time i see ironhide die I'm crying

I didn’t expect to be featured here it was nice, and I like somewhat knowing how others feel about figures like this
The twins aren't racist, They are portrayed as stupid gangsters, so you are racist if you assume they are depicting blacks 😎
Listening to some of the takes you agree with, I bet Godfather III was your favorite out of the GF trilogy.

I can sympathize with this, they ultimately should've just named him someone nobody cares about.
Fight me.)!
My Hot takes-
1. Prime Arcee was the hottest female transformer for me-
2. The Decepticons should’ve focused on trying to save the hatchlings in ROTF. It would’ve made they’re overall goal trying to retrieve the allspark more compelling to me, and would’ve struck as tragic when they lost-
3. TF3, TF1, and ROTB are the best movies in the franchise-
4. They should’ve stook to the ending for the novel Adaptation of Transformers Dark Of The Moon, would’ve been a better ending to the franchise than making AOE-
5. I love the concept of Optimus being a knight even tho it makes no sense-
6. I understand the Valid criticism for Bumblebee, but I thought it was Ok. I really liked it-
7. I would’ve preferred a Sequel to Bumblebee that includes the Deceptions since we only got a few glances of them during the opening cutscene on Cybertron, and were only left with Dropkick and Shatter. Why not use the Decepticons since they’re just as iconic as the Autobots? Then you could make a 3rd film focused on the Maximals and Unicron-
8. Optimus Primal was the best character in ROTB-
9. Armada Starscream was my favorite version of the character overall-
I'll add to this take: All Live Action designs of obscure or new Characters are better than those with popular G1 character names:
Blackout, Barricade, Dropkick, Shatter, Reedman, the individual Constructicons, etc.
Rescue bots > age of extinction
This checks out. There are no Age of Extinction figures in Legacy yet, but there is a Medix.
No💀
Literally everything > age of extinction
@@bradensmith8682 dawg what 😂 Legacy is for generations characters not movie characters
I completely agree with how Transformers works best in a animation format. especifically the "Super Robot" ones
That being said i really just want a new Transformers anime like we had in the 2000s
I got to say this it takes a well rounded fan appreciate all of the main continuities of Transformers.
Hot take 2: ROTF devestator is an amazing design, y'all just want a green cardboard robot.
Bro doesn’t miss 🔥🔥🔥
@@giovonniiclaytonI know right dude. G1 fans suck
