At least he was honest right up front about the screen brightness... a NITS that low is a total non-starter. I now have an ASUS C100PA-DB02, which is coming up on its end of service life this June... it has been a great Chromebook, and has me sold on using a Chromebook for all tasks except heavy-duty productivity and high-end gaming. However, I think I am going to opt for (when it is released in May 2020) the Lenovo Ideapad Duet Chromebook. Its initial review out of CES was really good, its screen resolution is higher than my ASUS C100PA-DB02 (in virtually the same screen size), the NITS rating is 400, it comes with a cover/stand and a keyboard, and the keyboard detaches for a true tablet transformation... all for less than $300. That is pretty hard to beat. Attention to all my fellow ATT retirees out there: the ATT retiree perks website *may* have the Duet for even less than its full retail price. Thanks for your review. I had asked if i should wait for this device it is scheduled to drop on the 26th. Glad i didn't. the spec sheet made it look like i should wait. Your review settled it i don't need to wait. $200 bucks more $999 got me a 4k display, built in pen, and an i5 over the i3. Good, honest review. It seems like Asus, Samsung, and Google always seem to be in the top three, but at this price Asus seriously dropped the ball in terms of usability, even if performance is top-notch. I expect the price to drop fast, and/or a refresh for the screen and keyboard. Early-adopters beware!

Thanks for this review! I lived in France where prices (due to taxes) is higher than UK... And you probably save me from buying it at 999€... I was looking forward to this C436 and it's a big disappointment. Now I'm not sure what to do... Go for the C434 at 600€ or wait for the galaxy Chromebook , but, actually I'm not sure the galaxy will be sold in France...
An honest and fair review as always, which is why I appreciate Chrome Unboxed. I'm curious what the appeal of a premium Chromebook is in all honesty. I have 2 Chromebooks (an entry level and mid level) and while I love using them, part of my appreciation for them is what they're capable of for that cheap price point. I just can't imagine what else a Chromebook can realistically do to justify spending nearly $1k. I know they're great for web browsing, productivity, streaming, and android apps but all of those things run well on entry/mid level hardware. So I'm just curious what other people use their Chromebooks for to need $1k worth of specs.
Good review. I want Chromebooks to be light weight, especially those that have a tablet mode. I do not associate lightness with cheap quality. However, too much flex, especially in a keyboard, might be a deal breaker. I also appreciate the discussion of the issues with the backlit keyboard. Overall, I am not sure that more expensive Chromebooks are a great value. But I think this laptop has a good set of features despite some weaknesses.
I've had a C434 for a year now, and see no reason to replace it yet. However, the silver colored keys are also an issue on it (not sure what's wrong with traditional black keys), and the bottom firing speakers pretty much suck. They're very muted unless it's on a hard surface that can reflect the sound up more efficiently. I'm hoping Chromebook manufacturers will start making affordable 16x10 ratio 15" Chromebooks (15.6"). While 16x9 screens are great for video content, that ratio sacrifices productivity as a result. It sure seems like you could fit a 15" 16x10 ratio screen Chromebook in a package only slightly taller (hinge to track pad) than a 14" 16x9 ratio unit. Also, at 14" to 15" the benefit of a full flip display isn't as good as it is on smaller devices. They're typically too big to use in a tablet mode above around the 12" screen size. As such, I don't care if a Chromebook of that size even has one. I barely use it on my C434, as well as my older C302. If it wasn't there, I'd adapt and wouldn't miss it. Give me a 16x10 ratio 15" Chromebook with decent specs and good forward firing speakers. Don't skimp on the other stuff, but I don't need a full fledged powerhouse that's meant to compete with Win 10 or Apple Macbook devices.
You can get an AMAZING premium Chromebook with a beautiful build quality, gorgeous (and bright) display, incredible backlit keyboard and glass trackpad with an i7 processor and 16GB of RAM (with SD card) and excellent battery life for about $300. It's the 2015 Chromebook Pixel. 2015? Isn't that outdated? No, and it probably will be great for the next five years too unless Chrome OS goes off the rails.
I was actually looking at this convertible to replace my MacBook Pro retina, keyboard and screen quality matters a lot to me, I think I’ll have to pass on this. Thanks for the great review.
Wow I didn't expect ASUS to drop the ball like this. I got a Pixelbook Go two weeks ago and agonised over making that decision because I knew the C436 was close to release, but I needed an upgrade from my C302 and couldn't wait. Now I'm glad I didn't. The Pixelbook Go has a stunning display at ~390 nits, its build quality is solid and the speakers are amazing. The C436 would be about the same price but the deficiencies highlighted in this review would have really depressed me. I don't know why ASUS changed from black so silver buttons. It doesn't look as nice and they're paying a price for it.
Many thx for the excellent review. And thx as well for your kind exchange with me about the Pixelbook Go. It’s a fine machine and a great replacement for my now-finally “dead” 2013 MacBook Air.
Thank you. I HAD to make a choice. The pre-owned Asus Chromebook I purchased off Marketplace suddenly crashed. I am at peace with choosing this one over the 434 (and many others on Amazon). No more lagging programs. Btw, the updated new price is $699. 🤷♀️
Had high hopes, it comes to Germany, too.... Probably have to wait a little longer^^... Could you add a external monitor test to your reviews? I bought a Chromebook and the processor couldnt handle my WQHD Monitor - it lagged like hell. Would love to see that kind of tests, too.
Ok thanks for share your experience with us...... honestly I prefer the C434 because of the price and also is fan less..... in my opinion there is not too much difference between the C436 and the C434....... let’s wait for more Chromebooks....... Lenovo, Acer, HP.....
Hi thank you for your comments. I bought a chrome book Asus C423 14 inch. I actually thought it y windows compliant, only to find it's not. The sales lady told me it was. I was under pressure at the time to buy a computer didn't do enough research. Couldn't take it back due to closed shop with coronavirus situation. So disappointed. Please let people know that these computers are not windows compliant. I really don't know what to do with mine as I needed windows for work 😭
4:53 Whoa. The ASUS C201 I'm using right now has a plastic chassis and it doesn't have any bend to it. I'll be buying the C434 (not the C436) today. Just stopping in to check that I'm making the right choice.
Great design, love the thin bezzles looking forward towards what the competition will offer on the Next Generation Chromebooks. I would like to see more 17inch laptop options and more Chrome Tablets.
@@01wdhwhite99 yes. Only the red one was avail for pick up so I had the gray delivered overnight. The red is just a bit too red for me. Not sure I can look at that for hours on end. Lol
01wdh White Disappointing battery life but what do you expect with a 47.9 watt-hour battery and a 4K AMOLED display? They are so power hungry. Everything else seems pretty amazing!
I have the c434 and am very happy except for the backlit keyboard. It works just fine except the laptop does not have an ambient light sensor. So every morning I turn it off(5 clicks) and every evening I turn it on(5 more clicks). I wish there was a keyboard shortcut to toggle full on and full off.
I'm living in Denmark and have the C436 i5 model. I have had it for almost 1 month. Firstly I do not have any issues in daylight, neither with my keyboard or screen. I do agree about the built. My son have a Surface Laptop and the material just feels more premium on the Surface. But performance wise and weight is really awesome on the C436. Yes the speakers is really not something they should be proud of. But it works great with a Bluetooth speaker also when playing movies due to the Bluetooth 5. If people don't have wi-fi 6 at home then I can only recommend getting that, it just works fantastic. I have the Asus RT-AX92U AiMesh AX6100 with two units and it is by far the best I have ever had and is covering my house with very high speed in all corners. I must confess that this is my first Chromebook, and it is an experiment for me. Replacing my 2000$ gaming windows pc with this little thing. Until now the project is running well, but with a few issues. I have had to invest in way to many docking devices and cables due to the lack of output features and ports. And one thing that really pisses me of, and that is the Chromebooks lack codecs for playing video content. Apparently surround sound is not something a Chromebook handles well :-( The reason for my project is that I realized that Movies, Music and games can now be streamed. So my need for a monster PC did no longer exist. A big thank you to Chrome Unboxed for all you great videos.
Kim Kongsted Do you have the same flex in the Keyboard or you feel that it is sturdy in general. Because if you are typing and it doesn’t flex or yes? Thanks.
Don’t like that flex on the keyboard... My 434 is abit of a tank compared to my MacBook Air 2018 and XPS13 but I love the solid build. Not enough here to make me wanna upgrade
more powerful than my x360, lighter, but hasn't lost any serious premium build quality, as far as the look and function. I'd prefer the keyboard of my 360 it would seem, but I've had wonderful experiences with far worse Chromebook keyboards over the years. Glass trackpad, capable digitizer pen, which means android and Linux opens up on a new level too btw. So, not an emmc, but NVME? The specs look really capable when it comes to high demand processing too, and a windows laptop with those specs would cost money too. And Idk if it would have such a pretty housing either, c'mon. It's a little hard to see the backlighting issue, I'd need to see it in person I suppose. I'm struggling with why this flopped for Rob, but a good upload nonetheless
I have an Asus with silver keys and weak back-lights. It's just "usable", not good. I recently bought a Google Pixelbook Go and the keyboard feels great and is perfectly easy to read and use in all lighting.
Great review👍. Thank you. Can you suggest me an affordable 2 in 1 Chromebook that has 3:2 or non-16:9 screen? I am mathematics teacher and also a PhD student with a dire need for a 2 in 1 with great note taking capability (hand). I almost went with Acer Spin 13 after watching your review on it, but by the time I am going to order a renewed version on Amazon, the seller increased the price from 369 to 470. More than 300 is already too much for my budget. Just wondering if there are any good options for me. Thank you
I like the features with this chromebook. But I want to use it outside and by windows and such in a coffee shop. What chromebook would you recommend? Looking at this one, the 434, and pixelbook go. Was considering sell and hp too but I’m so confused as to what will meet my needs. I’m going to be doing mainly online social media marketing and some TH-cam watching. The tablet thing isn’t important to me because I have an old iPad I use for Play. This would be for work so build quality and a good screen and keyboard is a must.
The 8 year life of it is a nice thing and the speed as well. But the flex in the keyboard and just above the trackpad, the keyboard problems with seeing it clearly in certainl light, along with your not being too excited about it in general is clearly reasons not to spend that kind of money on it.
Great chromebook!! If it's night and the lights are off. Daylight?? Cant see the screen and the keyboard? Did anyone at ASUS review this before manufacturing it? Strange how this kind of stuff can actually ship.
So why don't chromebooks use snapdragon processors? I've been looking for a new chromebook with power and I've been looking at the Google Pixelbook go and almost purchased one but then I heard about the Samsung Galaxy chromebook and this looks amazing with its 4k screen! Which one should I go for? Or should I wait for a new model?
Damn, that's so disappointing. The screen (brightness) and the flexible top now seem two big uncertainty. Specially given that I'd have to order online and can't physically try it first. I can't wait longer than April for yet another launch. But the 8.5 hours battery life of the galaxy was sort of an immediate knockout criterion for me. :/ Any advice? How fast will the galaxy battery presumably deteriorate?
That's a little disappointing. I have a the C434 and I absolutely love it, but the M3 processor is noticeably slower on complex web pages than my desktop PC. I was hoping that the C436 would be as good or better than my C434 and with a faster CPU to speed up the heavier web sites. I guess I'll wait for the C436-II. I bought a Lenovo C340-15 to use where speed is a problem. I don't think you've reviewed the C340-15 (you have reviewed the C340-11) and I'd be interested to know what you think of it.
I have a question concerning Linux on Chromebook. Im currently running an acer 514. Sure its not fast but i know that. I'd be looking forward for this C436 though. My question: Is installing applications through the linux terminal always that "slow"? Or is it just my hardware. Im also a linux guy so i know how fast apt installs programms on a debian distro. Would be great to know. Thanks
iIhave had an Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571 and it works great. Now I want something new and an upgrade. I want a better screen, touch screen, and 2 in 1. What should I buy?
If you want to stay with 15 inch screen, not many options. Anything 15 inch is poor quality, low specs. Even 14 inches not many options. Only good one is this one he is reviewing. Ignore the stuff he complain about. I don't notice these faults and love it. If you want to go smaller, there are good options for 13 inches. Pixelbook Go is best. M3 version can be cheap now. Or original Pixelbook is 12 inches and i7 version can be cheap.
man this is disappointing. All the 436's features will be in pretty much every other hatch chromebook, and it doesn't have any killer features. If they drop the price a good bit, I can see this being a good buy. Until then, I would just wait for a better option.
Is it possible the i5 variant of this Chromebooks screen going to be brighter than the i3 version? I've seen and read other reviews and no one complained about the screen brightness. They were using the i5 version.
The DEVICE being reviewed is disappointing. I greatly appreciate Chrome Unboxed doing the reviews so the rest of us don't go out and get a $800-$1000 disappointment.
i have a doubt about chromebooks in general, my father use an online platform to type in the local language (he is a journalist in the daily) so right now he have to use the function keys in the keyboard layout and i find chromebooks dont have those function keys as in general windows pcs.. so will it work? what do you think? its completely online platform, no software needed to be installed.
That's disappointing. You'd think that if your main competitor is going to release an OLED panel at a similar price point, you'd make sure that your screen isn't trash.
I don't understand why they keep making the keyboard fold so loose and unprofessional as in Pixel Slate. Try to fold the keyboard and hold and walk with it. The fold is terrible. The Lenovo duet seems also loose at the fold of the keyboard.
Would you happen to know if its good with cloud gaming? I wanna check out some subscriptions for pc gaming and my old chromebook is 3 years old so it might have some performance issues
For cloud gaming you really need a ethernet cable connected to your laptop, a good device will help a lot but Internet connection is what really makes the difference
Chromebook manufacturers and brightness issues always on Chromebooks! Again here. They do it to boost the publicized battery life, as a marketing point. They all do it. Too stupid to know that users want bright screens, and can always turn them down if desired. In my view, dull screens is the blight of chromebook design these days. Battery life claims are all bogus anyway. Ya think they'd get message with all these reviews. Blindsighted by their marketing people -- battery life, battery life, battery life......C434 was a great chromebook. This one, no thanks.
I just want something for watching videos and movies that looks slick. Asus checks all the marks except the screen brightness. Yikes that board flex. Think ill go with c434 unless i see something better.
Thanks for the great videos. If you read this can you do a video on Chromebook OS current file system and how to use it, cloud, on device, external memory stick, MicroSD, and external storage. How they all work. Please. I am staying with Mac and PC until I can really understand how the Chrome OS works with file system and storage.
Chrome, a free OS they charge you a premium to get preinstalled on a laptop. $800-$1000?!?!?!? Magnesium should be stronger than aluminum? I have a couple DSLRs with magnesium bodies you could use as a hammer! If it's not strong they used it to make the material thinner than they could/should have.
Tired of waiting for Chrome and ChromeOS laptops to become really good. At the price they are nothing but a bag of compromises. I love the idea of what ChromeOS can be instead of the current Frankenstein of Android, Linux and Web apps and even then its limited compared to what you can get on iOS. And hardware...yeah...same as all Google hardware. Always tons of compromises and it seems to flow over to their partners At these prices I think anyone is just better off buying a iPad Pro 12.9
Nah. That 8th gen m3 still gives solid performance and is same screen as this one as the review said. If you want an upgrade, wait on their review of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook and see how it turns out.
I'm not an expert but it truly depends on your usage.. - Are you going to transport it a lot? (To help on screen size, thickness/weight..) - What's going to be your main usage case? Do you expect any extra way to use it (software needed..?) - Do you like to use a touchscreen and do you see any actual real advantage to have it or it's more of a nice to have but not necessary. - From 1 to 10 - How important is build quality to you? 10 being very important Last question: Have you ever used a Chromebook before / if no what are you used to? MacOS/Windows..? Answer the above and I might be able to help you. I use currently an older generation Asus C302 as my main decide
Leo Desmedt I want the built to be good enough to last 2 or more years . Touch screen is cool but not necessary. I’m going to be taking with me everywhere I go. And as far as main usage I’ll be web browsing and watching content
@@Johnmims65 Looking at your usage. I assume you want something that's well built and feels good in the hand with a screen about 13-14 inches size to transport it around easily. Based on your description, you won't need a powerful machine but something that does the job. Looking at the current Chrome OS development - I'd advise you to get a chromebook with 8Gb of Ram. (I've got a 4Gb one and start to feel the need to upgrade) Processor wise, anything that matches the m3 or above is what you will need. m3 works good and you won't need more in my opinion. I'd say, there are plenty of options but I think you fit well into the Google Pixelbook Go in the price bracket you gave me.. The base model in US starts around 650$ I think. I don't see the need to spend a hgiher amount of money for around 3 years of usage. However, if you believe you plan to use it for longer.. Then upgrade to the i5 and you will be good for a long time. Check it on the Google Store Website :) Have a good one!

Chromebooks at 499? Fine. At 799? Nope that's a very good Windows laptop category. Even apple released the macbook air at 999. I like Chromebooks but vs a full OS for the same price most people would pick a Windows or Mac OS than a Chromebook
It all depends on what each individual user needs in a laptop. If someone is mostly internet based, they don't need the power of a Windows or Mac and they would benefit more from the speed and security of a Chromebook.
I would pay extra for premium keyboard/touchpad and screen for a chromebook. I have no need for Windows or Mac on a day to day use. Most people don't need full PC or Mac; I can do my work from my chromebook. There is nothting wrong to pay extra for nice hardwarre on a device you actually use daily.
The thorough, straightforward reviews are why I love this channel!
"The reason I'm starting with the screen is that I'm really"
Yeeees, it's going to be an amazing screen!
"not that impressed with it"

They should have made the keys black. That would have helped alleviate the backlight problem.
Racist.

Seems like a proper unbiased review and a completely fair review, loved it totally
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook has dire battery life and this has a duff screen. The perfect premium chromebook eludes us.
Why duff.
Your presentation, editing, etc. is great. So is your analysis.
Your reviews rock! Thanks for the depth and clarity.

Apparently this is supposed to have 300 nits in the screen, it measures around 280 to other people. You maybe got a dud
Also the they went backwards on the bezel design on this one
Hi thank you for your comments. I bought a chrome book Asus C423 14 inch. I actually thought it y windows compliant, only to find it's not. The sales lady told me it was. I was under pressure at the time to buy a computer didn't do enough research. Couldn't take it back due to closed shop with coronavirus situation. So disappointed. Please let people know that these computers are not windows compliant. I really don't know what to do with mine as I needed windows for work 😭
Thank you for emphasizing the low brightness, a pet peeve of mine. Great reviews!
When will you get the galaxy chromebook??
Congrats on 100k subs
I have the c302 then I got the c434 8GB I'm done with Asus Chromebooks I want to get the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook with a high-def screen
James Kristoff I’ve heard it has very poor battery life, so keep that in mind.
4:53 Whoa. The ASUS C201 I'm using right now has a plastic chassis and it doesn't have any bend to it. I'll be buying the C434 (not the C436) today. Just stopping in to check that I'm making the right choice.
There are tons of stylus available. Can you recommend a few that are better than others?
Count me out! Time to check out the opposition! chromebooks that is
Great design, love the thin bezzles looking forward towards what the competition will offer on the Next Generation Chromebooks. I would like to see more 17inch laptop options and more Chrome Tablets.
Where I am it's the 6 of April. Waiting for galaxy Chromebook
Me to. Thinking of getting it
Just bought it. Delivering Tuesday.
@@ScottBenedict You bought it on best buy?
Seems perfect! First review for the 436!
I think this is the Best ChromeBook from Asus!!! 😍😍😍
Apparently surround sound is not something a Chromebook handles well :-(
The reason for my project is that I realized that Movies, Music and games can now be streamed. So my need for a monster PC did no longer exist.
A big thank you to Chrome Unboxed for all you great videos.
How come you have an i5 or even this laptop since a month+? I'm pretty sure the i5 is barely out
@@leodesmedt in Denmark it is out.
Got it the 13 of March.

Hhmmm Cross this one off the list. Screen Keyboard Keyboard Back Lighting are right at the top of list for me. Thanks for your review!
i cant wait for the 436 v galaxy chromebook side by side review...
more powerful than my x360, lighter, but hasn't lost any serious premium build quality, as far as the look and function.
Hi! Nice review, again! But when comes the review on the HP with USI?
The 8 year life of it is a nice thing and the speed as well. But the flex in the keyboard and just above the trackpad, the keyboard problems with seeing it clearly in certainl light, along with your not being too excited about it in general is clearly reasons not to spend that kind of money on it.
Another great vid thanks Robbie
So what's better this one or Samsung?
Excellent points, shame on the keyboard & screen.
Looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook review.
Are your looking for the best of the best, or are you looking for a laptop to last you a while?
I guess I'm a bit picky. I was really looking for a successor to the pixelbook. Would be nice to have something thoughtout and nice once in a while.
As soon as I hear its less then 300nits that is a no go for me. I am super disappointment because I was looking forward to this chromebook.
I thought it would be a good upgrade to my Pixelbook, but not if it's that dim :(
That's a little disappointing.
Thanks
Very good overview. Thanks
iIhave had an Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571 and it works great.
I think they saw the galaxy book and dropped the price by 200
When do you think that there are coming Ryzen Chromebooks?
Is it possible the i5 variant of this Chromebooks screen going to be brighter than the i3 version? I've seen and read other reviews and no one complained about the screen brightness. They were using the i5 version.
This review is very disappointing. A "next gen" chromebook should be better, not worse. Come on ASUS!!
The DEVICE being reviewed is disappointing. I greatly appreciate Chrome Unboxed doing the reviews so the rest of us don't go out and get a $800-$1000 disappointment.
It's the device that is disappointing, not the review. Phrase it better, moron.
I really want see if ARM powered Chromebook can be better than with X86 CPU.
How is it compared to the Pixel Slate? I am looking to buy a high end Chromebook very soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook comes out tomorrow, April 6th. I recommend waiting for it's full review.
The pixel slate isn't in the same bracket when it comes to Power
Why not you can get with a core i5 or i7? I am not trying to be smart. I am just trying to understand.
@@rl00821116 the chip name is the same but the generation of them is diffrent I believe, one is 8th gen and one is 10th
could you tell me what stylus are compatible with this chromebook?
You don't know what 'in lieu of' means. Thanks for playing.
Do you have an on staff hairstylist?
SO is the C434 a better value then?
The low brightness is the main reason why I returned my C434 (same screen I guess).
So which will you choose HP x360 or Asus c436 or Asus c434
i have a doubt about chromebooks in general, my father use an online platform to type in the local language (he is a journalist in the daily) so right now he have to use the function keys in the keyboard layout and i find chromebooks dont have those function keys as in general windows pcs.. so will it work? what do you think? its completely online platform, no software needed to be installed.
That's disappointing. You'd think that if your main competitor is going to release an OLED panel at a similar price point, you'd make sure that your screen isn't trash.
PLZ do a comparison between this and the HP Chromebook x360 14c
I don't understand why they keep making the keyboard fold so loose and unprofessional as in Pixel Slate. Try to fold the keyboard and hold and walk with it. The fold is terrible. The Lenovo duet seems also loose at the fold of the keyboard.
C434 still the king!!!
Can the USI stylus work just as well on a C434?
Would you happen to know if its good with cloud gaming? I wanna check out some subscriptions for pc gaming and my old chromebook is 3 years old so it might have some performance issues
For cloud gaming you really need a ethernet cable connected to your laptop, a good device will help a lot but Internet connection is what really makes the difference
@@mateomele2011 that’s a good point thanks for the insight
I was about to go to sleep! Not anymore 🤤
Same lol
I can get a pixelbook or pixelbook go at this price.Good try Asus but not good enough.
They need to make a 3:2 Aspect Ratio 12" version that's powered by Pentium and weights below 1kg.
Always tons of compromises and it seems to flow over to their partners
At these prices I think anyone is just better off buying a iPad Pro 12.9
Just 1K more!
"in view", not "in lieu"
Or maybe 'in light'. It wouldn't have annoyed me so much but he said it three times in a row!
Asus should release an AMD version of this with the new Ryzen 4000U processors and 16:10 screen aspect ratio in the exact same body...
Where do you get your wallpapers
Should I upgrade from my C434?
Nah. That 8th gen m3 still gives solid performance and is same screen as this one as the review said. If you want an upgrade, wait on their review of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook and see how it turns out.
Anyone knows what happened to the Lenovo Duet? It's been a long time and it's still not on sale
It is supposed to be available starting (sometime, I hope it is early!) in May, 2020.
@ChromeUnboxed what chrome book would u recommend I have $932 available
I'm not an expert but it truly depends on your usage..
- Are you going to transport it a lot? (To help on screen size, thickness/weight..)
- What's going to be your main usage case? Do you expect any extra way to use it (software needed..?)
- Do you like to use a touchscreen and do you see any actual real advantage to have it or it's more of a nice to have but not necessary.
- From 1 to 10 - How important is build quality to you? 10 being very important
Last question: Have you ever used a Chromebook before / if no what are you used to? MacOS/Windows..?
Answer the above and I might be able to help you.
I use currently an older generation Asus C302 as my main decide
Leo Desmedt I want the built to be good enough to last 2 or more years . Touch screen is cool but not necessary. I’m going to be taking with me everywhere I go. And as far as main usage I’ll be web browsing and watching content
Leo Desmedt and I have used chrome is before and windows and Mac os
@@Johnmims65 Looking at your usage. I assume you want something that's well built and feels good in the hand with a screen about 13-14 inches size to transport it around easily.
Based on your description, you won't need a powerful machine but something that does the job. Looking at the current Chrome OS development - I'd advise you to get a chromebook with 8Gb of Ram. (I've got a 4Gb one and start to feel the need to upgrade)
Processor wise, anything that matches the m3 or above is what you will need. m3 works good and you won't need more in my opinion.
Check it on the Google Store Website :)
Have a good one!

Can you play Call Of Duty Warzone in a chromebook like that?
There is nothting wrong to pay extra for nice hardwarre on a device you actually use daily.
is it a good deal on 2023 for 630$ ?(euros actually)
No
