We all talk day in and day out of all the Keyblades of the series. So it’s nice that we also acknowledge the weapons of the allies, the shields and staffs of Donald and Goofy, and how every Disney character has their own weapon, or attack utilizing their strong hearts.

The garbage Mushroom XIII weapons most likely exist to hint at the stronger versions. On a first playthrough the player isn't going to know that Mushroom XIII even give equipment, so from a designer's perspective having some throwaway equipment for when they do poorly is a decent way of signifying that better play will reward better equipment, that's also why the bottom tier has a plus version since it shows that there is a progression in the power of weapons you can get.
Which is weird because it has a hammer head (though to be fair, real pollaxes don't necessarily always have axe heads so that kind of thing does happen)
Was always a bit disappointed that a several of KH1’s staves and shields are just recolors (still some terrific designs though), and in turn always liked 2’s D&G weapons best. I recognize how inane that sounds given most players don’t prioritize protecting party members and giving them the best equipment one can afford, but as someone who always has (to a point of baby me talking to them as though they were friends playing this game with me, I was a dork), I took that aspect fairly seriously and thus got really excited upon seeing you’d do vids on these weapons! Always particularly liked the Wisdom Wand, just for the funny visual of Donald whacking enemies with a giant book.
I really like that Goofy gets to use Frozen Pride. It can be really satisfying to see him block with it. I don’t really know which weapon I like on Donald though. Since he doesn’t get Second Chance, he would always get oneshot by superbosses in my last playthrough. So maybe Save the Queen’s Hyper Healing is the best for him? So he can get back up more quickly?
for Donald use premium mushroom because MP hastega. you have a chance to get it very easily by beating the mushroom in agrabah's cave in under 10 seconds (or maybe 5 I'm not sure) edit: also, to beat it quickly, equip bond of flame on Sora and your best magic keyblade on final form, equip fire boost ability, equip all your combo plus abilities and unequip all your finishing plus abilities. then you enter final form, lock onto the mushroom, stand next to the mushroom, start the mushroom duel and spam firaga
I really enjoy this series because I enjoy all the little details in the weapons and I'm sad to see it come to its natural conclusion with 3 (unless you do DDD 😈)
Way to Dawn is actually one of my favorite keyblades. The angel wing is directly growing out of a bone in the bat wing to create the teeth so it doesn't look randomly stuck on to me.
I wish they would have added a setting or something to choose which version you wanted you weapons to look like. Or a weapon theme setting. Cuz some of the tron and holloween town skin are beautiful but you can only see them in said worlds.

It's always been strange to me that goofy gets so many weapons with MP based abilities
Goofy has low mp so it was intended to put MP ability on Goofy shields to balance him ( heh balance. )
I think it’s because of his attacks. Send off a Goofy Tornado wielding Goofy, and the field is cleared in SECONDS.
Looking at Lexaeus' weapon in the KH wiki it's often described as either "axe-sword" or "tomahawk".

It was called a tomahawk in Chain of Memories and Vanilla KH2, then was changed to an Axe Sword in later games.
