This is exactly the green washing economy we have right now: lets make a shoe with 20% co2 emissions that last a lot less than a normal shoe and cost more. By going end life with a normal shoe and buy only when in need a normal costumer would be a lot more eco friendly.
Yeah he says real quick that the triumph 20 will last beyond 400 miles and that midsole on nimbus if it dies premature at 250 and then you want another shoe that is less sustainable .

The shoe I'm kind of curious about even if it was designed for women originally is the On Cloudspark. Haven't seen a review for it kind of seems like a plated trainer.
The outsole is probably decent as other reviewers have said that the outsole on the Nimbus 26 is a significant upgrade. Also, the upper already looks better because the just put real eyelets instead of trying to be cute. I would consider it if I was looking for that type of shoe. I'll give you a pass on the goofing on the sustainability angle. Studies have shown that the most significant decision we can make as individuals to help the environment is to abstain from animal products. Even though that may not be your primary reason for doing so, the environmental impact is the same.🙂
Good to know about the rubber - I hope they upgrade novablast 5 as well. Honestly would be worth a $10 price increase. And glad to know I'm already eco friendly 😂
Sky Paris and Edge Paris are definitely not the same shoe for me. Sky gives me a heel to midfoot ride (not good). Edge gives me a midfoot to forefoot ride. A lot will depend on how well you can compress the forefoot on the Sky and activate the plate.

My theory is that people buy "message" consumer goods to sooth their own insecurities. There are guys who want to be badass but aren't, so they wear stuff like Grunt Style and Thin Blue Line merch. There are other guys who want to live sustainably, but also want to buy a bunch of pointless stuff, so they buy "green" marketed stuff. This pattern shows up everywhere with consumer goods if you start looking for it.
You should try to get the Altra Experience Flow. It’s available for preorder through running warehouse. It’s supposed to be like the fwd experience but with a new upper. Love the fwd experience after I broke them in after 30+ miles. Should be a perfect competitor to the New Balance Revel V4.

Over striding and braking is what causes the joint stress. Now if you’re talking about economy, that could be a different story. Physics says less time on ground = less friction (I think, but those classes sucked in undergrad and are some of my lowest grades 😂). More time spent transitioning from heel striking phase to the toe off theoretically should translate to slower pace (but to what degree I do not know).
Yes in that they're both $20 too expensive 😂 They're both super comfortable but the skyward has a carbon plate and the race foam on the top layer. Hoka is actually coming out with a shoe later this year called the Skyflow that's designed to compete with the Nimbus
Any plans to review the new Evoride Speed 2s? Asics doesnt seem to market them much here in the US. However, they seem pretty popular in Japan. At the Tokyo Marathon, they were one of a handful of shoes they had at the expo and it seems like they were marketed as a training companion to the Metaspeeds.
So will you not use it again as a running shoe, and just casual lifestyle use? That’s probably a good call. The medical community will probably like it due to max cushion and all white color.
Yeah I put nearly 300 miles on the nimbus 25 and it didn't feel all that different - so would rather get miles in and test other things. Weirdly I can use another casual shoe too ... I have a lot of running shoes but I'm not about to pull up to the parent teacher conference in the hoka cielo x-1 😂
I own the Nimbus 25 and I bought the Mirai and for me, it’s not as plush. Remove the shoe insert and it’s pretty damn firm. Still a great shoe overall.
It's OK to mock the environmental posturing. Making this shoe didn't have a position impact. Maybe just less negative as you explained in the 'saving money' bit.
I bought a pair of ASICS gel nimbus 25 and I got my usual size but I should’ve gone up a size. My poor toes coped a hammering when I got back into running and trained for a half marathon. I’m a slow runner so they suit me well but I do want to get a shoe to go faster.
if you want to stay with asics, the novablast 4 is a nice upgrade for faster running. still cushioned and protective but a little more pep. another shoe i'd suggest is the hoka mach 6 - it's lightweight with a nice soft and bouncy foam that's great for speed

coros pace 3! it's solid - battery life is great and i like that it tracks my sleep at night. some of the performance metrics are just okay but i've grown to like it, especially for the price. it's $230
