10/14/23 Purchased Alpha Rex Pro series for my 2007 Tacoma and watched this video. Straight forward wiring but had multiple problems such as (1) lights cutting on when truck is just sitting, fixed this problem by running fuse wire to inside fuse box on ignition 15a fuse. (2) Amber light instead of blue for driver's side DRL, but everything else working OK. Noticed when I unlocked truck with FOB, the DRL were blue on both sides, so in conclusion to that problem is that I must always press unlock to get the DRL back to blue (weird). (3) Also noticed that the truck now locks itself at random times even if the keys are in the ignition (pain in the ass). Other than that, the lights look great and made a huge difference in the appearance of my truck, just hope they hold up.
Don’t connect to fuse box in the engine bay. I was able to fish my ignition wire through the firewall into the cab using thin wire using the path that the hood pop cable goes through. Then just solder back on the red end and take out the ignition 15 put it in that adapter in the red wire and plug it into the same spot where the ignition 15 amp fuse went. Boom! Also the set I just got had the optional change from white DRL to amber. I for sure changed to amber. Looks amazing!

Hook up to the fuse box under the steering wheel, not under the hood. That will fix issues with drl staying on or turning on & off randomly
@@RS-mj7rq this video must be old, b/c the instructions on the alpharex website will tell you which fuse to pull under the steering wheel. I know its a 15amp fuse
@@RS-mj7rq so i have a 2010 tacoma prerunner & the fuse mine is hooked into is the very top left fuse, which I believe is a 15a?
Is there a way to have the stripes be amber? I I know their tundra headlights do. Maybe it’s just a bulb swap?
just put the parking lights on and they will be amber
Are these the pro series or LUXX series ?
LUXX series version.
Do those use H7 Bulbs and if so are you running Halogen or LED?
Good question I think LED
I just confirmed LED
I dont seem to be stupid but does this have a low beam/high beam option? Or is it just one set brightness ?
yes it still has the low and high beams.
Can you have amber DRLS?
Thanks for making this video. It really helped me to install them on my Tacoma. I have one issue, the DRL’s are staying on. Have you seen this issue? Please let me know your comments. Thank you
i have the sam problem you find a solution
Wish alpha would make a 3rd gen style for the 2nd gen’s.
Is it bright has the stock.
It's night and day vs stock head lights
@@CARSONBOARD hope so
Dude, your link goes to the Halogen version not the LED. I ordered it and now im stuck with a $500 headlight with yellowish halogen light
your fault
Are you ok?
@christianraygoza5676 you're the one crying about buying the wrong headlight like and idiot lmao. but yeah I'm OK thanks for asking. my nova series look great in my truck
@@rassoul420 I’m happy for you. I’m sure you must be a great human being
@christianraygoza5676 thanks again for the compliment. maybe one day you will grow up and stop blaming others
hello friend where I get the harness for the DRL??
It should be on their website. Did you check?
I tried to search I can't find it please help me with a harness link🙏
?
I installed them yesterday thinking my truck has DRL( which it does) but I can seem to understand the wiring for the DRL and when you turn on the lights. Now when I turn the lights fully on without the brights they still have the orange lights on. Anyone knows what I should do?
I have same problem looking for solutions
Sounds like you don’t have OEM day time running lights you need the extra harness
I have same problem call the company they said they will call me to help out
@@hectorpichardo364 , hey hey did any of you guys find a solution I just hook these up today with the harness on my 08 taco without DRL and my LED lights are orange all the time. And when my turn signals come on they hyper blink on the front and my OEM back turn signals as well. Confused
Aye bro did you have a problem with hyper flashing? I’m having that problem with mine
I think me and my friend wired them wrong on mine cuz they flash white light when I use my turn signal.
I tried contacting Alpharex a few times either by phone and even email about my lights turning on intermittently. Do you possibly have the solution to solving this problem. Please help if you can. Thanks.
The problem is the wire hooked up in the fuse box in the engine day it gets power from Ecu off and on when the truck is off. Need to run to inside car to another power source
Do you have to do the DRL adapter if you are planning on just using them On/Off? just curious as looking for projects to start on my 2008 Tacoma!
you can burn out one of your resisters if your truck doesn’t have DRL and you don’t plug in the part, but it’s ultimately up to you.
Can you make other video in the night but with the fog light off
Nice looking headlights on your Tacoma. I hope you've gotten use to Texas and our weather. I've been thinking about changing the OEM's on my 07 and really like how these look and work. Just to clarify, are the lights that you received and intalled the PRO-Series? And after a month or so since the install, are you still impressed with them? Thanks and enjoy your videos.
Friend, I hope you can help me. I just installed my lights and the directions are very fast. I don't know what's wrong? Thank you!
What’s going on?
@@CARSONBOARD I installed my lights and the lane change lights are too fast! Did I connect something wrong? Install it like you do in the video!
@@DavidGarcia-pn1iu hello, im having the same probelm and i was wondering if you ever got around to figure out what was wrong. If you did could you please let me know. Thank you
Yeah I just installed these today and my white LEDs are Amber ! And when I hit the turn signals they hyper flash front and back.?!
Did you order the extra harness? You may need it.
I installed 05-11 Toyota Tacoma LUXX-Series LED Crystal Headlights Alpha-Black - With converter on mine and figured I would also plug the fuse into the 10 efi slot but this actually caused problems with my tacoma wanting to die on me so the best one I have found that works for me is the 10 ac fuse the only downside is my ac on the inside has to be engaged at all time for my blinkers to work properly and the day light running lights to be on. If anyone has had similar issues or found a better fuse to piggy back on please let me know.
wire it into the fuse box that’s inside the truck. into the 15a ignition fuse, that’ll fix your problem
I am looking for head light for Toyota Tacoma 2015
Which are these the Pro series or Luxx series??
LUXX-Series LED Headlights, Toyota Tacoma (2005-2011) LED projector technology
Do you have a hyper flash?
Installed my dads and he’s concerned about the hyper flash
I have hyper flash on my right blinker. I've talked to some people about it and they said it's something to do with the different resistance, but I haven't been able to resolve the issue yet. Let me know if you figure it out.
Let me know if you guys figure it out
@@sandordibble7390 I am having that same issue with my Pro Series Lights. My lights blink like crazy but its very random. I checked my wiring and still have the same problem. I also don't have any other LED lights or burned out bulbs so i know it has something to do with these Alpharex lights. I originally had my lights connected to the fusebox under the hood but ended up connecting it to the fusebox under the dashboard but still have the same problem.
I havent been able to figure out why it has hyper flash on both lights.
@@user-bt9ek2dv2y my mechanic actually installed a resister on the spastic headlight wiring to compensate for the difference of power with the LED lights since the stock computer doesn't recognize the LED power requirement. So, look into that!
@@sandordibble7390 Thanks for the info. Had a feeling I was going to need some load resistors. You would think the head lights would have something built in or included in the packaging to compensate for hyperflashing. Or atleast a write up about it in the installation instructions.
Bought some load resistors and waiting for them to come in. Hopefully that fixes my issue.
Thanks again for your help. Appreciate it.
Welcome to Texas. Good tutorial but you have to get rid of that LA cap. Astro's is the way to go.LOL
Do you know if there is any of this quality for a 2015 Tacoma?
I'm not sure. I'll ask them.
They’re in production they will be coming out soon.
I got mine installed at a shop, 2 weeks laters my truck stopped working wouldn't start, had to get it towed to the dealer, it had to do with a fuse in the headlights now my DRL don't work
any update as to why?
Is there any high beams?
yes sir a it STILL HAS A NICE CUT OFF
@@CARSONBOARD Ok thank you so much! I seen the online picture that shows them with the high beams are the ones that have 4 bulbs and I didn’t want to spend $900 but if these have high beams too I’m all for it!
How do you adjust these lights?
So I feel stupid for asking but after 30 mins of google searching, how can I tell if my 09 Tacoma has DRL?
Everything was dope… except that damn cap 🧢 😂😂😂
Getting my lights this wknd, can’t wait… and I think ima have to agree with you on those 3 lines that light up… I may do the same and disconnect
I installed my headlights just like you, and i’ve noticed that my headlights randomly turn on even when the truck is off. any recommendations?
Yes I notice that too after I made the video. I recommend to extend the wire throw the firewall and connect on 12v load like the radio need it to get power only when car is on. The place where I recommend to install Checks emissions every few hours. Mine was hooks up like for a few months and haven’t had any issues. But people tell me you left your lights on.
I have the same problem where I need tp connect the wire?
in the official install instructions you’re supposed to run the wire through the fire wall and wire it into the 15a ignition fuse in the fuse box that’s inside the cabin, to the bottom left of the steering wheel. that’ll fix your guys problem👍🏼
@@TRDAidan my front lights dont flash when i lock or unlock the truck
@@lightningsanchez5312 It depends on which set of lights you purchased. I purchased the "Pro Series" and those don't light up when you arm/disarm the vehicle. You get that feature when you buy the "higher-end" version of these lights ($600+ version). Still awesome lights and look way better than anything out there.
Hey, how you install that foglights.
Cleeannn!!!! Dam wish I would of seen these before 😫, awesome detailed installation 👌🏻!!!!
Are the old ones for sale? If so let me know.
I'm going to keep for back up.
Hey man love the vid, great tutorial
Question, exactly which model AR lights are the ones in the install? The pro series ( $450-ish), the Luxx ( $750-ish), or the NOVA ($1100 -ish) ? Thanks!
The Pro series.
So the pro does the sequential and start up dance, I thought only the luxx could do that

@@ericclapp470 yea I wanna know before I buy the luxx because if the pro does it, I'll buy those instead of the more expensive one👍🏽
