Vegan for only 2 years but I wouldn't even consider going back to eating animal products. Totally agree that you have to have that shift in thinking where you no longer see animal products as food.
Ritesh Arora Nothing special really :). Just a lot of very basic cooked food; lentils, beans, chickpeas, tofu, pasta, rice, a lot of veggies and bread, muesli... He also snacks on fruit, loves tahini and isn’t scared of sugars or oils or eating something ’unhealthy’ like processed foods (such as mock meats) or sweets every once in a while :D.
The way you're talking about hens is the way someone I just met talked about his new rescue dog. The dog was in a cage for four years just making babies and they saw her and just had to rescue her. Now I don't know if these people are vegan or not, but I can see so many people echoing their words and the accompanying horror of it all while eating an egg or the flesh of a chicken. I've been vegan for nine years and I still can't get used to the disconnect.
Being vegan is really pretty easy, it's just a matter of adjusting to it initially. And it's getting easier all the time - even in just the 6 years I've been vegan I've noticed the trend toward more and more vegan options. Restaurants routinely know now what "vegan" is, where it sometimes used to need explaining. It's growing, thankfully.
I’ve been vegan for almost two years, and I’ve never been more vibrant! Listening to you all talk about fish, I remembered how I could never eat fish prior to veganism because a full fish was set in front of me as a kid. ...I was horrified. I couldn’t eat something that was staring back at me. I wish I had made that connection to other beings much sooner. Love you ladies! Keep up the good work. 😊💗🌱
Chelsea Lehnea yes I used to think the same thing!! If I had to peel a shrimp, I wouldn’t eat it. Fish I never touched. It just didn’t make much sense when I looked at the full picture!

I think you guys all hit the nail on the head! I feel so blessed that I learned about nutrition before I went vegan, and the reason I’m vegan matters more to me than how I look, because pre vegan, I didn’t always like the way I looked anyway. I love that you mentioned that veganism has been around for centuries xo🤞🏽💚💕
8 years ago when I went vegan living in Istanbul and was on a business trip in the States, I was like 'wow, being vegan here would be sooo easy, they had Daiya cheese, vegan burgers, hotdogs, cafes, affordable plant-based milks etc'. It was not that big of a challenge for me as the Turkish cuisine is already very vegan-friendly, but of course, it would've been easier with ready-to-buy stuff. I learned to love to cook, so that was a huge plus (most vegans will probably agree). But the progress in 8 years .... going strong, always and forever vegan.
I been vegan for six months now and I have been having a hard time accepting other people eating animal products. It’s been so hard to find that some of my friends and family don’t care about the treatment animals receive. I’m just telling myself that I can only control my actions and my life.
Vegan 6 years, and I’ve been there! But on holidays, my family and friends love my vegan food so much, setting a good example helps people see an alternative to their lifestyle! That’s a step in the right direction.
Simpli Beauti I don’t think I am holier than others. I just thought that people would care more. I just thought that people didn’t know what was happening. I have learned that some people know what is happening but still choose to eat meat. I don’t think I am greater than those people. Just a little disappointed by those people.
I have been vegan 5 years and I recently had in interaction with someone who was telling me that a restaurant in NYC serves pigeon and he was completely grossed out by that, but he is not vegan. I just said to him that I have that same reaction to any meat/animal product and pigeon is really not any different than chicken or any meat....just to echo what you all said about meat not even being food to you anymore. I can relate and this experience was an example of that.
When I first gave up meat & dairy 19 years ago, there was no TH-cam, Instagram, FB, and the internet wasn’t used like it is now. Everything I learned, I learned by reading and educating myself. And then, other than produce, I did my “grocery” shopping at the health food store which is laughable when I think back on it. I’m grateful for the progress.
I really resonated with the chat around minute 19. I’ve fully recovered from my eating disorder and exercise addiction while being vegan. It was harder for me to watch vegan TH-camrs at the time because everyone spoke to veganism helping them lose weight where as I needed to gain and it felt like I was doing something wrong. I am and was vegan for the animals (pre Ed). And I now find that I am healthier than ever, vegan and thriving but I still have poor body image. Please do a video on body image/confidence! I think it’s so needed in this community where everyone is portraying their”perfect” vegan life/food/body etc. thank you 🙏💕🙌🏼
I loved this video! I've been vegan for four years now and am having some major stomach/health issues. It can be really hard to stay vegan when I already can't eat soy, cashews, flax, chia, any protein powder, tomatoes, chocolate, and coconut. People around me keep telling me to eat eggs and fish just to add variety to my diet, but they don't understand veganism is more than just what I eat. Honestly, I don't know how long I'll be able to stay vegan -- if my health issues don't turn around it may become medically necessary to add more calories that I'm not allergic to back into my diet (I'm working with a gastroenterologist and veg-friendly dietitian), but I have the intention of living this way as long as I healthily can-- even though it's not fun/enjoyable (and often painful) when I can't eat so many things. I hope one day my health returns and I can live this way pain free.
I can really empathize with what you're describing here. I hope your health issues are better now! I've been experiencing similar issues. Currently I'm being evaluated for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I've been vegan a month and I really want to stick to it but it definitely is tough with a lot of dietary restrictions.
you are all beautiful souls! I am so happy to be vegan for almost one month now. Nikki said that one way to learn about being vegan in the beginning is to find someone who inspires you and then binge watch the videos. Well, here i am! :)
I think this was my favorite video yet!! I am always so shocked when I'm reminded just HOW many aspects of my life and the world around me is improved by veganism
I have been an ethical vegetarian (no meat, leather, fur, down, animal tested products, etc) for 27 years....and I slowly went vegan after that. I have never had any health issues and the same for my friends who have been vegan for 15+ years. Of course, data is the best way to provide evidence but it is also great to hear of so many people who have been vegan for so long without issues. It really can work for most people. Everyone, vegan or not, should learn about nutrition and should get their blood tested every year. Great video, as always ladies!!!
Anja what is the ethics of shipping bees for use in fruit orchards? Hives die in transport. We don’t eat honey because it exploits them but we are ok exploiting them for our fruit.
Such a good one ladies!! My high school best friend went vegan in 2010!!! She did slip up for awhile in the beginning of college when living in dorms because there weren’t options & just did normal vegetarian for a bit, but still! I just love you guys can speak the truth of all the “drama” without actually making it drama and such
So glad Nikki brought up vegan history!!! I think since this movement is happening so rapidly I think one of you or all of you should in all episodes going forward constantly bring up that the world was vegan in 500bc!!!
Am surprised so many millennials here in the states don't know that there are 214,635 SDA's (Seventh Day Adventist) here in California alone. SDA have avoided animal products since the 1800's. In the 60's I had lots of SDA friends, but it wasn't until '76 that we became fully plant based. Our son who is an adult has been plant based since '76 when he was a little kid. Post cereal was begun by a SDA American medical doctor, nutritionist, whose friend then began Kellogg's, also based on SDA health beliefs. Well known vegan Dr.John McDougall '86-2002 he oversaw the plant based lifestyle program at the SDA St. Helena Hospital in Napa.
So true..the other day I was talking with my non vegan sister about how the animals are treated and she made the comment that I used to eat meat and I told her that I know better now...my eyes had been opened to the treatment of animals, etc.
I became vegan immediately after watching “Vegucated”. That was seven years ago. It’s been fun experimenting with new foods, using new beauty and care products, and feeling so much healthier.
I loved this episode! I’ve been vegetarian for about 6 months now, and have tried going vegan quite a few times and always failed😪 mainly because I live with my boyfriend and his family and no one in my house is vegan or vegetarian. It’s seriously a struggle but this inspires me to want to try to go vegan again (and stay vegan!) thanks ladies 💕
I hear ya girl. I went vegan for a few months but I struggled a lot because my husband isn’t vegan and I have to cook non vegan food for him. I also bake for a living and the and I don’t work in a vegan restaurant so I have to bake regular non vegan cakes and pastries which is hard to do and not eat. The struggle is real.
I agree with what you guys said about vegan cheese, it has truly come such a long way. My favourite 2 vegan cheese brands that I find in South Africa are Violife and Nature&Moi. Violife mozzarella melts perfectly on pizza, and Nature&Moi is great for mac 'n cheese!
Just discovered your channel. Love it. Been vegan for almost a year. Hubby has been vegan for 6 years. I love this video. I’m the only vegan in my family and in my circle of friends and have had seconds thoughts of maybe I’ll start eating meat in the future. But right after I feel guilty for thinking that. Your guys videos always help me remind myself why I’m doing it and why it’s just not for me or my health, it’s for everyone and the entire world❤️
I just had my 3 year anniversary of being Vegan and I feel great. I will say that I've gone through several periods of time of feeling bloated and having to figure that out. Actually, I think it was something that was said on this show that made sense which was that it's better to have a smoothie or have your fruit first as opposed to having it after you have a sandwich or tofu scramble or whatever you're eating. That has really helped me. My only wish at this point is to make more vegan friends. You would think living in LA I would have more, but all my girlfriends are still obsessed with stinky/fancy cheeses and feel sorry for me that I can't eat them. Little do they know, I feel sorry for them but I don't say it because it just goes to a weird place.
Just wanted to say I love you all!!! Thank you for this channel... I live in a small town and I’m literally the only vegan I know lol. I’ve been vegan over a year and half and I love watching these. Keep it up ladies🤗
We need more videos like this. In 2019, youtube would have you believe that all vegans’ health has failed, all that attempt to be vegan long term end up sick and turn to eggs and fish to heal. We need to push back!
I’ve been vegetarian for almost two years, mostly vegan for about a year, and fully vegan for about three months. The thing I’m scared of is waking up one day and deciding I want animal products again, even though my ethics are in the right place. I finally was just like even if I can’t sustain this, it’s what I want to do right now & even if it doesn’t last, it’s good for right now. I can’t imagine eating animal products again, and I really hope it stays that way.
Awesome video! Melina is hillarious ,you should have her on again . It's so nice to hear people talk about being vegan for the same reasons i'm vegan 😊.
I appreciate your discussion of eating disorders and veganism! I sometimes feel a lot of pressure from vegans to adopt that lifestyle, but I’m at a place in my life where if I decide certain foods are off limits, it will likely spiral to the point of thinking all foods are off limits, and therefore not eating at all. Due to mental illness, veganism is not a healthy lifestyle for me, and I appreciate others going vegan because I can’t!
I've been vegan for 44 years, strictly, in all ways - well beyond diet. I'm fine. But I know what to eat/supplement. I'm 65. I went vegan at age 21. I've done my homework. I have no diseases, and take no meds. Plenty of energy.
Lol I've been vegan 6 years. I just moved to this small town of 1600 people and they literally only have one grocery store here. Guess what? They have Impossible meat! They also sell Litelife hot dogs, and much much more.. so awesome.
@@NikkiVegan I'm star struck that you noticed my comment Haha! And a topic I would like to hear you guys discuss is the topic of being vegan in college. I am in college and vegan but I am also a commuter and alot of my vegetarian friends who live on campus struggle to be vegan, so they just stay vegetarian while at school. Thoughts?
It’s so interesting how within the last month Bonny Rebecca, Sam Ozkural, and Rawvanna has came out with videos talking about how they are eating fish and eggs again. I would love to know your thoughts on why you think this is happening all the sudden??
Morgan Feltmeier hi there! I think in a way they did address this several times in the video without naming specific people. They talked about how insufficient juice and water fasts are (which rawvana was so criticized for), and that the key for a long term vegan lifestyle is to 1) make sure you’re doing it for ethical reasons and 2) eat a balanced diet, replacing what you used to eat with vegan options so you’re never depriving yourself. I hope this helps!
Morgan Feltmeier and Kalel don’t forget about her. Lol I think once one got the courage to come out and talk about it made it easier for the others. Kind of like the me too movement. Have you heard about Minimalist Baker not being vegan anymore? She’s going to be putting non vegan recipes on her site next month I believe.
I personally feel that those TH-camrs focused more on health and different cleanses and raw diets which are not at all for everyone and can be very unhealthy. If you watch most of their videos many of them mention health issues like gut problems and mold; which makes sense when you look at the food they were regularly consuming.
I really struggled with low ferritin levels and both doctors that I saw recommended hemaplex. They NEVER told me to stop being vegan, they said it's so common in women who eat meat too.
18:16 so much yes! it's cliché but, we are what we eat! My life and mental health were revolutionized this year after I went vegan/WFPB. I feel and see a huge difference. Thankful to have found this awesome lifestyle during such a hectic, stressful time (all of 2020 haha).
It’s great to see bunch good heart people here But I also know people like to intentionally hurt others. Human civilization need more positive like you guys.
Loved this Video 🙏💚and so glad u guys talked about ehtical side of veganism and the horrendous cruelty we inflict upon innocent ,sentient beings whu have a pain tolerance 10 times lower than humans.
k dark I’ve often wondered about animal pain tolerance. We (humans) have larger prefrontal cortex’s than most other animals, allowing us to plan and project ourselves into other scenarios. If you read accounts of people who have been traumatized, they often relied heavily on the functions of their prefrontal cortex to make it through. The animals we torture and kill don’t even have the luxury of imagining they’re somewhere else.
New vegan here. If you are looking to go vegan, take the time to do your research and make small changes at a time. I didn’t go vegan overnight; I started by swapping out my milk for soy milk, trying out vegan recipes once or twice a week, and researching the dairy and egg industries. Now I am vegan full-time. You don’t have to do it all at once. A lot of people use vegetarianism as a stepping stone and /or become an “at-home vegan” before they are ready to finally go vegan full-time. There are also “vegan starter kits” available online where they will email you recipes and tips.
I actually started eating plant based due to orthorexic tendencies but once I made the connection to being vegan ethically I felt food freedom bc I knew even if I ate something unhealthy there was no reason to feel guilty bc no one had to be killed or tortured for me to have a donut🥰
Love u ladies (and your make up!) oh my word I need your make up artist ! What make up do u use? Sorry if it’s a repeat question but I’m a newbie here.
You ladies are so precious and you're vegans. I enjoy watching The Vegan View with my wife. We recommend it to all the vegans we meet. What a great guest.
How many vegans do you meet? I’ve only met two vegans and one of them ate chocolate chip cookie that was made with butter and eggs right in front of me. There aren’t a lot of vegans where I live. Lol
gary pack idk about that. I live in a predominantly white city and an even whiter neighborhood. There were 6 black kids in my high school of 1,800 students.
Happy for people for who veganism cured eating disorders; for me veganism fueled it… the last point was that I’ve put on a lot of weight; which I just couldn’t tolerate… I watched all the documentaries but I guess I’m just not compassionate and I was dreaming of steaks at night; which is definitely not healthy
So many people want me to turn them vegan. It's like their responsibility I feel and I get scared, because I feel like I'm telling them what to do - so I run away. Sorry to everyone out there about it.
Does anyone know how to transition into veganism without losing any of your favorite foods? I feel really restricted with it because I haven't found a vegan cheese that I like yet, and there's other foods I feel like I'm losing especially specialty foods that aren't vegan that I won't be able to have just because I'm a full time student and can't cook but also because where I live there's basically no vegan restaurants, bakeries, or even specialty shops except for whole foods a little bit. I live on the east coast so it's the opposite of LA, there's very little vegan selection here.
I’ve been vegan for 2 years and lately after recovering from a surgery 6 weeks ago, I am extremely tired and pale and just feeling so dragged down. I don’t know what could be going wrong with me. I try soooooo hard to be healthy. Everywhere I look ppl say iron deficiency and to have fish or egg.
There are iron supplements. Did you talk to your doctor? Any post-surgical issues have to be reported to your doctor ASAP. Get blood tests before changing diet/supplements. After the blood testing, let your doctor know that you are Vegan and that you want assistance staying with your ethics and getting the nutrition you need. Have your blood tested for deficiencies. Chances are that you don't likely have any nutritional deficiency. If you do, there are supplements and certain foods you can focus on. If you aren't deficient and just want more energy, again there are dynamite supplements like nicotinamide riboside + resveratrol or you can go a step further and add PQQ + CoQ10. Resveratrol is an anti-aging molecule and the others I named are pro-mitochondria molecules. I'm 46 years old and the nicotinamide riboside + resveratrol is exceptional. If you're under 25 years old, just do that nicotinamide riboside without resveratrol because young people don't need anti-aging molecules yet. You can also try CoQ10 + PQQ if you're under 25 to try and get your mitochondria firing along with the nicotinamide riboside. These even can help relieve some depression. Also, coffee/caffeine can help relieve depression too if used in a single beverage sparingly. The supplements I referenced are not for making up any dietary deficiencies or to try to get around a bad diet. These supplements are for people who are already testing as 'healthy' on blood work and when a doctor is telling you there is nothing wrong, you're healthy, go live life. Then these supplements can help give a boost.
"You wouldn't eat it like that", when Nicole was referring to a sick chicken, we should all pose that question to our friends and family. Would you eat a disease infested, festering, sick and dying animal? I think most people would say, no way! The truth is that is what they are eating on the daily 😢

It's always such a great way to start my week!
Lisa Ward we tried to be conscious of that!! It’s so nice to hear that!!! 😍
love that you start your week with our show! That makes me insanely happy 🙌
Thanks Katie! Glad this resonated with you!
I'm with you on that. Im struggling with the same issues.
Vegan 6 years, and I’ve been there! But on holidays, my family and friends love my vegan food so much, setting a good example helps people see an alternative to their lifestyle! That’s a step in the right direction.
It’s the s a m e for me.......
Remember that you weren't always vegan either. You can't just become vegan and be one of those holier than thou people.
Great example of four very beautiful, intelligent, compassionate young ladies
I've been vegan 14 years and I'm never going back. It's so amazing how many options there are now!
you are all beautiful souls! I am so happy to be vegan for almost one month now. Nikki said that one way to learn about being vegan in the beginning is to find someone who inspires you and then binge watch the videos. Well, here i am! :)
Aw we’re so happy that our channel can be that for you!! 💚💚
I think this was my favorite video yet!! I am always so shocked when I'm reminded just HOW many aspects of my life and the world around me is improved by veganism
7 years vegan this September and I am not deficient in anything, it simple took a brochure from PETA to make me go vegan. 🌱💚
Amazing that you've been veg for so long!! It's so cool to know that it works well for so many pople, myself included. I LOVE being vegan 💚
I just love you guys can speak the truth of all the “drama” without actually making it drama and such
I'm so happy that people are more about ethical non-harm than about talking about a diet fad. Thanks for being caring people!
True that!
I've been vegan for over 3 years now and I'm in the best health of my life! At age 32, I'm healthier and in better shape than I ever was in my 20s 🙂
Vegan 17 years. Just fine! Zero health issues! PS. Einstein was Vegetarian!
Omg I love the description of learning to use your new phone but NOT LEARNING TO USE/FUEL YOUR BODY!! That is spot on.
thank you! so interesting to think about right? glad this resonated with you
So true..the other day I was talking with my non vegan sister about how the animals are treated and she made the comment that I used to eat meat and I told her that I know better now...my eyes had been opened to the treatment of animals, etc.
I became vegan immediately after watching “Vegucated”. That was seven years ago. It’s been fun experimenting with new foods, using new beauty and care products, and feeling so much healthier.
had my first vegan grilled cheese the day before yesterday, I had another one an hour ago and had some vegan ice cream (cashew milk based)
This is so much better than The View on tv. Smart ladies!
South African Vegan there is no need for manicured products that resemble animal suffering.
Just discovered your channel. Love it. Been vegan for almost a year. Hubby has been vegan for 6 years. After being vegan for less than a year, he came off his blood pressure and high cholesterol meds! His blood panel results were perfect. Doctor was amazed and wanted to know his secret. Btw, 2 gentle requests/advice for you - please sync your audio with video - so, if you are saying “salt” please show salt and not yogurt. And please provide all recipes in one place for easy access. Again, love your channel!
this was so interesting. Please could you make one entire show about the history of veganism.
I love this video. I’m the only vegan in my family and in my circle of friends and have had seconds thoughts of maybe I’ll start eating meat in the future. But right after I feel guilty for thinking that. Your guys videos always help me remind myself why I’m doing it and why it’s just not for me or my health, it’s for everyone and the entire world❤️
All amazing info and GOLD begins at 17:31! (Well said, Nikki! Especially, at 18:08!)
Thank you Natalie!! I'm so glad this resonated with you 💚
This was such a good video! Thank you! ❤️
Oh my god I love Malina. She is my goals.
Really enjoyed the show and your guest was excellent! Should def bring her back for future episodes 👍👍
Awesome video! Melina is hillarious ,you should have her on again . It's so nice to hear people talk about being vegan for the same reasons i'm vegan 😊.
Loved this episode. Subscribed to this channel as well all of those of the incredibly inspiring and knowledgeable women on this panel 💙
Due to mental illness, veganism is not a healthy lifestyle for me, and I appreciate others going vegan because I can’t!
this month is my 3 year vegan-niversary!
woo! happy veganniversary!!
Yay!!!
I always pronounce it "die-uh" 😂😂😂
So excited for the new upload!
Thanks Sarah!
They also sell Litelife hot dogs, and much much more.. so awesome.
I love this channel so much! all the episodes are so well constructed and always have amazing topics!
Thank you! that's so nice to hear! let us know if you have any video ideas for future episodes
Thoughts?
52 plus years raw vegan for me. Never happier. I feel younger as the years go by .
They only made videos about it recently, but at least two of the people you mentioned weren't eating a vegan diet for months.
MediocreHaddie Right, they made videos about it within the last month...
We’re so glad you’re loving it Betty!!
The animals we torture and kill don’t even have the luxury of imagining they’re somewhere else.
k dark can you tell me where you got your information on animal pain tolerance?
New vegan here. If you are looking to go vegan, take the time to do your research and make small changes at a time. I didn’t go vegan overnight; I started by swapping out my milk for soy milk, trying out vegan recipes once or twice a week, and researching the dairy and egg industries. Now I am vegan full-time. You don’t have to do it all at once. A lot of people use vegetarianism as a stepping stone and /or become an “at-home vegan” before they are ready to finally go vegan full-time. There are also “vegan starter kits” available online where they will email you recipes and tips.
Over 4 years vegan. Always will be✌🏽❤
looks very peaceful at the top. So glad I'm working my way there :)
Pretty sure they do their own makeup.
Lots of great points guys. I need to know where Nicole got that shirt!
great episode!
3 years vegan and I love it I'll never go back to eating meat
saaaame here!
also can u post your guests youtube? i only see the hosts’ links
Amanda Welch check now 💗
Hannah Hagler thanks!
I love this Channel!
Just wanted to send vegan love and support to you guys and that you are vegan for the animals! Stay strong!
thank you much! 💚
Nice talk ladies, dude she's lovely!
I love you're videos so much you girls are so entertaining
Nisha- your hair looks great!!! 🙌🙌🙌
5 months here haha everyone here is like 30,25,10 years 👏👏👏
One of my fav episodes yet!
thanks Hannah! so happy to hear that
loved this :)
Wow 8 years is a long time, congratulations
I tried to watch Earrthlings twice but I could never watch the whole thing
Yeah that one is so hard to watch! So sad
Interesting when the concept of veganism being so ancient was brought up. Goes to show how steadfast it actually is.
Right?? It’s not as new as people think 🙌
Can you list Melina's youtube please 🙂🙂🙂
I was wondering the same thing! Also, they really don't need to include Dani's channel anymore.
It’s there :)
It’s in the bio! 💗
Preach Nikki! 🙌🏾
Lindsey Ventura If it’s iron deficiency, then lots of plants have iron. I would get a blood test though to see if that’s really the case.
Love this!!
Nisha looks so pretty today!!
Aww I love her she is so cute!
"You wouldn't eat it like that", when Nicole was referring to a sick chicken, we should all pose that question to our friends and family. Would you eat a disease infested, festering, sick and dying animal? I think most people would say, no way! The truth is that is what they are eating on the daily 😢
