OOh Miranda. You're dad was such a sweet man. I'm sorry he's not yet been found and that more effort has not been made. You're mom, you girls, Jamie and the rest of Tom's family are in my heart always. Sharing you're message.
I do not recall a ram creek. But I do know a place called Ebełeduwe meaning, no sleep,. Named that because the rams bump heads there all night. Our Grandpa talked about this mountain saying there's this trail that is soo dangerous that if you slip you will slid down this mountain and nothing can stop you. It's sad because locals who knew about the area was denied to help and was told SnR had it under control.
I can’t believe he has still never been found! I hope you guys find closure one day soon, and know what happened to him on this trip. I remember this all so well. Heart breaking!!
I remember reading about this story, it’s very fascinating. Hopefully accessibility becomes easier and more treasure hunters visit the area, finding his gun and knife would be nice closure for his family.
This is so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for your loss. Maybe one day the RCMP will get it together and actually get out to this area and do a proper search, to at least bring closure ❤
Sending love and positive vibes from Northern BC.. I hope your family gets closure one day soon, and I’m so sorry that this happened to you all. I will share your fathers name to people I know.
I have been awarded tags in Spatzizi Plateau twice and both times have received a letter from the ministry asking to report signs of a missing hunter. I wanted to do the same route once, but it was strongly recommend that I rethink it and fly due to the bridge wash outs. It was also said that because of a lack of use the trails in that area have become nearly impassable. I’m sorry for your loss and I hope your family gets the closure you deserve.
So scary i was born and raised in British Columbia, I grew up fishing and got heavily into hunting last season I spent nearly a month out in the bush I hunt towards the same area your dad went missing. The craziest part is I even drive the same truck as your dad 😅
Get a local elder (great knowledge of that area) to help look, they hunted and walked there for years ♥️ They know many caves & areas that are not safe, filled with shale rock making it impossible to get out if wandered in. I saw this shared in my social newsfeed amongst us Tahltans, we are praying for his returned also 🧡
I'm so sorry that this is taking so long... I want to respect the RCMP, but they sure are taking their sweet time investigating the camp site location.. I really hope something positive happens soon. ♥️
So very sorry you are seemingly being stalled by every reason in the book, by every branch that is suppose to be helping. I hope you get the answers you need very soon.
No searches have been done in 2023. But a lot of hunters have been keeping an eye out and three items were found this year. Unfortunately, none of these items are my dad’s. But we are very thankful that people are keeping an eye out while hunting in the area.
@@miranda.3136 I hope he is found eventually or at least some evidence of what may have happened to him. Tom and I share the same last name. I wish you and your family all the best. I appreciate your reply. Thank you
Boy 2005, that's a cold trail now even with connecting with hunters that go into the area. I know that there is what is called a Wildlife Sale in Prince George usually once a year, sometimes twice. It is held by the BC Government and has many people who may have been able to help with this. The person that is in charge of it, and boy that's a long time ago, but he did sheep hunts in this area and there would have been a guide outfitter working the area too. But the Wildlife Sale get's hunters in from all over the world and guide outfitters as a great percentage of the hides and antlers being sold have been confiscated by the conservation units in British Columbia and the hunters that had their trophies taken away from them because of minor infractions would go to this sale to buy their trophies back in a bidding auction held by the BC government. Sheep were the big ticket items at this sale and a limited entry tag is something you only get once in a lifetime. I have hunted all over northern BC providing horses for guided hunts, mostly in the Finley Country though. I would think that you could acquire a list of sheep taken in the area and names of the hunters would be in the files. Im surprised that any conservation officers working with you would not have suggested this. It may be privy information but any officer would have been able to contact from the list of hunters going into the area and asked some questions. Limited entry is specific and its for a specified area that the tags are released for and there also would have been a guide outfitter for the area working all parts of it. Out of Country tags are given out easier for the outfitters running the area and that would have been the place to look for any sign of a camp. Im sure any outfitter running the area would have co-operated if they had seen anything. And it would have been talked about back at the camp if there was a camp seen in their territory. Some of the outfitters, not all mind you got upset if they saw hunters from BC in their areas, a lot of them are owned by American Citizens and run by British Columbians. But a guide outfitter camp for that specific area would have been the place to go to find out from hunting guides if they came across any camps. A very sad story, Im sorry for your loss.
I wish I had seen your post closer to when it happened, I just stumbled across it on a feed I was looking at on Facebook. People do go missing and to me you just dont hear about it in the Media either. A nephew of mine was recently killed in an avalanche at Powder King in BC and it just wasnt covered, picked up or covered at all by media. Any missing person or accident out in the Wilderness should be covered in the media so there are no options unturned.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video. I am so sorry to hear about your nephew, my condolences to the family. Do you happen to remember the name of the person who was in charge of the Wildlife Sale (who was a sheep hunter and hunted in Spatsizi)? We would love to reach out to him. You mentioned reaching out to the hunters that were awarded a limited entry hunt in the same year as my dad was awarded one. My mom did send letters to the Ministry (due to confidentiality) who then forwarded her letter on to all the hunters awarded a limited entry hunt in Spatsizi for the year 2005. She also sent letters to the Ministry for the next few years for them to forward on to the hunters so they were aware to keep a look out for anything that could belong to my dad. Many of those hunters reached out to my mom to let her know that they received her letter but unfortunately nothing was located. As for communicating with the guide outfitter for Spatsizi we were in contact with the guide outfitter that was working in the area at the time my dad went missing and we have reached out and have communicated with the new guide outfitter for Spatsizi. I have no doubt in my mind that both guide outfitters have been keeping an eye out for anything that could have belonged to my dad. Spatsizi is such a large area and the hunter who saw the old camp said you could walk right past this camp and not even know it was there. Due to this video Terrace Search and Rescue offered to help us and in 2021 and again in 2022 Terrace Search and Rescue have put a tremendous amount of effort into searching for the reported camp. You can see their search grid at missinginspatsizi.com. We have so much gratitude to this special group. Thank you again for taking the time to watch the video and reach out to me. It is very comforting to know that the video is still circulating. Miranda
Unfortunately the hunter who found the camp didn’t have a GPS on him. But he has circled on a map for us where it is. If you are interested in seeing the pictures of the map please email tleonard@goldcity.net
Hi I just came out of a sheep hunt in spatsizi first one in this year and found an old pack frame along eagles nest / Donahue pass. It looked like it Could have come down the mountain with an avalanche this past winter. I took pictures and have the lat and long if someone could get me an email I would like to pass them on to Miranda, I know if it was me I’d like my family to have closure
The hunter that found the tent at the time (not knowing about your father at the time) on the Ram Creek trail, appr. 2 to 5km up from the Eaglesnest Trail, does he have any more information as to whether the tent was on the east side of trail and creek, or on the west side of it. Was it somewhat hidden. Just trying to get as much info on this tent/jeans and t-shirt as possible to help narrow the search for it along that area (granted, it could have blown elsewhere, but just for extra reference) if at all possible and if that hunter recalls any extra details. Are there any "Hiking Forums" to add this too (if not already done). I know it is on hunting forums.

This is such a heartbreaking story... I live in PG, and will share. Many of my friends/family are hunters.
My uncle (Tom Reynolds) was on one of the initial searches for your dad. I'm so sorry that there hasn't been more of an effort made to find your dad.
Yes I do remember him! We thank him for all he has done for us and he will always hold a special place in our heart ❤️
