Hi Jay, I always enjoy your informative and insightful thoughts on these projects 👍 I have a friend with a very low hour 2005 RM 250 that’s been sitting since 2005. Probably original coolant, etc. Good bones, but I’m wondering what a project like that would cost to go through and properly refresh? (Just a rough estimate, so if I make an offer, I consider the secondaries). Guy that bought it originally was a vet that rode it softly, if that helps.
I was lucky to purchase a 03 “in super condition , very strong pro built last year it just needed graphics , but I love your build very personal ! Great job
*OEM parts for them like power-valve, electrical and other items air boot are discontinued now.* Plus, motor internals are getting scarce that is the main problem. Hence the reason why I went to KTM, got rid of the RM's.
I thought so to, until switching to KTM. The *OEM* parts you need common ones are no longer available that wear like tranny, air boot that is dry rotted ect.. Eventually, the key parts will not be available so they will be junked.
That's crazy, personally I wouldn't put that kind of money into an older bike, when you could go out and buy a brand new bike for the same price, I just paid $6100 otd for my brand new 2019 yz250
@@scottmeredith8951 I'm in Canada man, but you guys in the states normally get the better deals than us, just have a look around or phone a few dealerships, they blow last year's models off at super good prices, and hey it's the exact same bike as the 2020 lol
KTM/Husky/Beta/Sherco/GasGas - lots of them and I am burned out on the big 4 (they went to *NASCAR 4 strokes* and ruined the motocross sport. Hence the reason why the old 2 strokes are all ragged out. Enduro is where it is at now, mostly all KTM/Husky ect...
So cool more and more 2 strokes being restored/bought, love these builds!
Glad you like it-
I'm a fan of Suzuki. Beautiful bike. You did a good job to build two stroke. sweet!!
Rm's are the best looking 2 smokers when done right and this is perfection 👌
I never thought yellow could look so good
Great job, Nic! I miss the sounds and smells of two strokes!
That bike came out really good!! Great build
Cool to see a bike from a fellow Illinoian! Nicely done!
Love me some Calif winter 🌞- nice build too!!
Another awesome 2-smoker build. How about listing the companies that contributed to the build and a list of parts and prices.

Right on!

I'm hitting this issue with my 06 rm250. Even finding used spares is difficult and no chance for a spares bike.
Thinking of getting a Beta.
@@jonnoMoto Time to get a Beta or KTM or Sherco something where you can buy parts.
www.bike-parts-suz.com/suzuki-motorcycle/250-MOTO/RM/2004/RM250K4-E3-E28-/7760 you can buy every parts you want here from factory...

Awesome build good job 👍
Looks pretty sick.
I'm not a Suzuki fan but this bike looks great! 10/10
That one looks awesome
The old Suzuki’s are so rad!

Stunning, good job 🤙
Mega looking bike
2 strokes for life!
So what year graphics do I choose if I want your guys graphics and have the same updated plastics?
Have to do custom-
I have a rebuilt 06 modded up sitting in my garage.
The RM 125,250 are very sought after in Australia
....I have a 02 250. It's animal. I raced it in the 2015 Finke Desert Race.
How close are you guys to corona Ca ? Man I would love to have you guys build my rm250
Sun City Ca - Menifee
Sweet video. I miss my RM125:(
I have a 96 rm 250 and seems like a lot of the parts aren’t around anymore.
Yes getting hard on some pieces. They are on eBay but can be $$

Where can a man get a deal like that?
@@scottmeredith8951 Do a search on motohunt or look at places like troycitygarage etc
Which state you in?

I'm doing this myself on my 2005 rm250 my last step is my decal max graphics that will be here tomorrow
And I didn't spend 6 grand though lmao I got everything including the bike for a little bit under half that
Nice!
Save the 2strokes!
I've never been a fan of the restyle kit, it makes it look too much like a yz
Yeah, I find it makes the bike look awkward. Stock with rmz front seems to be the ticket

Cool bike but total money pit
Cool build Jay Clark...You do awesome work.
