@@holypaper polarizing as in it's like a complete 180 from the blue album. People coming to Pinkerton expecting the blue album 2.0 are gonna be disappointed. That being said, I think Pinkerton is better than blue, the raw emotion in each song elevates it for me
One of the best debut albums of all time and a personal favorite of mine, only bested in their career by their follow-up "Pinkerton". Also, not sure if you are aware but Deftones have covered almost every song on this album at one point or another and "Say It Ain't So" became a staple of their live shows for nearly a decade. I know i'm WAY late on this video. But, as a weezer FAN i had to click. The way you empowered the whole album just by laughing made me think so much more about it. I have watched so many videos to understand the blue album... but god you made me love this band even more. I couldn't stop smiling through the entire thing, and I'm so glad you posted this. I know you wouldn't ever see this (i mean, its been 2 years) but I hope that you do just so that you know that you're amazing. Truly. By the way, I wanted to add on to this review. Not my space to add on, but I wanted to say that I love weezer because of the teenage dirtbag vibe to it. I could dance, sing and SCREAM undone any time of the day. It makes me feel understood and its my go- to song for people who don't know weezer. Surf Wax America is the perfect song to jam out to with friends on a car ride, and Only in Dreams is such a passionate song unlike any other. Many other rock bands pour their hearts into songs, but with Only in Dreams, you can hear EVERY INSTRUMENT go through phases of sadness and energy. This album has its flaws, obviously. But it is and will always be close to my heart.
This was so fun to watch. This has been my favorite album for many years as I discovered it in 6th grade and I am now 35. Your reactions were very endearing and your review was spot on. Thank you for this.✌
I hate resorting to this level of hyperbole for fear of not being taken seriously, but this album is the best album to have come out in my lifetime, and honestly, I can't ever imagine anything ever being a more concisely perfect album ever again. I'm incredibly biased and I recognize that not everyone is gonna share this opinion, but man, every single track on this album is killer, front to back. It could stay in a broken cd player in a half broken down Chevy Cavalier that is struggling to stay alive just to get me from A to B at my boring minimum wage job and struggling to fit in socially in high school, and there would be zero complaints listening to nothing but this day after day after day, for years on end. Few albums did for me what this album did.
I think you should check out Ozma's debut album Rock and Roll Part 3. I think since you liked this album so much you would like Ozma's stuff too. Also I can't wait until you listen to Pinkerton. :)
Thanks for reviewing! This is just a great album. Loved Blue from the first day I heard it! Saw Weezer and Pixies together in concert just 2 years ago. loved it! Can you believe it? Pixies opening for Weezer? Talk about the student outshining the teacher, but they both rocked out the joint though!
funny, but I got to know Weezer when the Green Album was out (yeah, I was 14 at the time, giving out my age lol), and I was already a huge grunge listener, but I NEVER considered them grunge, it was so weird for me to see you comparing them to Nirvana (and Sex Pistols), and even tho they are from the same era, I still don't think they are grunge \o/ Nice reaction, tho

The World Has Turned And Left Me Here - Same misogynistic bastard wondering why she's gone and crying about it 4.
