To me Genesis sounds like a mix of Pink Maggit and Rosemary

you need to watch this album with the lyrics in hand.. as that is the true strength of this historically dark and tragic record.

Your intro to the album was east hastings as well, how interesting! My dad used to play it to me when driving me to school years and years ago. Recently, I rediscovered the album from a snippet of the song Dead Flag Blues earlier this year. The whole album is fantastic but DFB sticks with me, especially that reverberating guitar that sounds like something from a western with depression.

The lowest point in Deftones career, and they turned it into this beautiful album. The band was about to disband, they were all having peesonal issues with drugs, alcohol and secs addiction, and Chino was divorcing his now ex-wife (Rats!Rats!Rats!, Combat, Kimdracula, Rivière, they all talk about some of those feelings of betrayal, heartache, self-harm, etc). Holy, one of my fav, if not my fav Deftones album.

Hum for sure. Deftones year I hear it. But the album this week be REALLY makes me think of is the 2016 album by narrow head “satisfaction”. If u like this I highly recommend that album!

This lp is so likable. True innocence. Every time I play this for someone they question the endeavor, but they always smile as well. Its memorable and it does express a naive philosophy that can be appreciated by a world that otherwise can seem out of control.
