Thanks for the guide. Will tear mine apart when I arrive it tomorrow and grease/oil the correct parts. I always do this to new reels, after hearing about reels coming totally ungreased. Feels better to know what's happening in the reel
Thanks to the expert guidance, I've elevated my reel servicing skills to a whole new level. The attention to detail and clear instructions have turned what used to be a daunting task into a satisfying and rewarding experience. Aye man any suggestions for a new baitcaster reel? Just want one that won’t break the bank but will get the job done for a few years. Great video man always enjoy em
Hey thanks man I really appreciate it 👊🏽😊 Idk what your budget is or what you want to throw exactly but I’m a big fan of the SLX XT. For the price idk if there is a better option out there for a quality brand like Shimano. It’s like 130$ usually but I actually think they’re on sale right now on Amazon. There’s a link to our Amazon store in the video description and I have that reel in there along with a few other favs if you want to take a look. Haha I was thinking about grabbing another XT myself at that price! 😂🤙🏽
@@WhereWeWild Thank you man I looked into that reel and it has that cool braking system! The whole side pulls out and you can mess with the brakes like that or the dial! Really cool gotta wait for the fishing money to come in to cop! Thank you again 👊🏼
@@samtheangler47 No prob man. 👊🏽😊 Yeah exactly that’s the thing, like you can grab a normal SLX for 100$ and they’re sweet little reels, but to have that XT outside brake adjustment for just a couple bucks more is totally worth it. Even at 130$. On sale is even better. 😎 Don’t hesitate. Great reel. Idk if you want a righty or lefty but if you go with the HG 7.2 ratio it should cover just about everything for you. 🤙🏽
No not really, sometimes they’re actually bone dry, and sometimes they just have some grease on a couple of them. I just wipe them off and oil them up. Always seems to make them way faster and smoother. 🤙🏽
Most of the time I honestly just keep the stock bearings in and fish them for a while, and then I’ll replace them if need be. I try not to go too nuts with bearings because I have soooo many reels. 🤦🏻♂️😂 The stock bearings aren’t bad especially if you keep them clean and oiled, but Boca has quality bearings for sure and is usually my go to. Really up to you if you want to try and upgrade them just to see if you notice a better performance.
Usually I get parts from fishshop.shimano.com/pages/parts but they don’t have this reel up on the site yet cause it’s too new I guess. Maybe find the part number on the schematic and try eBay possibly. 🤙🏽
So mine has alot of grease on the spool bearing which you mentioned. I haven't taken it out but it sometimes makes a terrible grind noise like dry gears skipping when I cast. Only used 5 times. Quite disappointed. Should I send it to shimano?
The gears usually come pretty dry from the factory. Before you go through the trouble of trying to send it out… I would honestly follow this video step by step, make sure everything is clean no dirt or sand anywhere, make sure there are no broken parts, and then add the oil and grease to all the spots I show where to put it and see how it feels after. 🤙🏽
Just helps the washers last much longer in my experience. Running them dry will give you max drag, but they will burn up faster, and you rarely actually need your max drag on these reels. 🤙🏽

@@WhereWeWild Nice man thank you again I won’t hesitate reel Is going for 119$! Last question man what model is the left hand retrieval?
I’m used to my spinning reel lmao I tried a right hand retrieve baitcaster but it was uncomfortable or Im just a wuss haha.
Good job bro 😎
Thanks man 😊🤙🏽
Crazy Great teacher!! Thanks man
Ahhhh thanks brother really appreciate the kind words! 👊🏽😊 Hope the vids are helping ya out! Thanks for watching! 🎣☺️🤙🏽
So are the bearings from shimano packed from the factory with grease?

@@WhereWeWild ok makes sense. What do you think about upgrading to the Boca bearings?

@@WhereWeWild same here man I have so many Curado Ks I’m not sure I want to spend the time or money 😂
and does anyone know where I can get the drag clicker for the shimano 201 M

углеродные тормаза не мажу , просто мою в мензине . сушу и ставлю так они лучше работают , но тлько в байткасте . в обычных катушках чуть мажу

Shimano uses grease inside the bearing and don’t use Lucas oil on bearings,Viscosity is to thick
How could that oil be thicker than that grease? 🤔 All my reels cast a mile brother never had any problems with that. 🤙🏽

Carbon fiber soaks nothing up sorry
Grab yourself some Cal’s drag grease and put a tiny dab on a carbon drag washer, you’ll see what I mean by that. 🤙🏽
