- I take the new Shimano Curado 200M out to the casting field to see how much farther it can cast vs the legendary Curado 200K!!!

When you said brakes at minimum setting all I could think about was me getting a birds nest so bad I would have to get out scissors. LOL
I love this style of video, I think it would be cool to see it up against the 150 mgl
I'm an admitted Shimano Curado fan boy! Actually, I'm 60 years old now and still bass fish A LOT! I have used them since the Bantam was introduced, and while I no longer use them, I do have and use the E's, the dreaded G's, I's, K's, and now M model. What I've learned over the years is they just work for me and my needs. Lots of good reels out there, but at this point I'm satisfied with Shimano Curado's! Also have two Curado 300 K's on swimbait rods...they are awesome as well! Enjoyed your review young man!
Once the reel has a break in period and that grease thins down. I'm thinking it will out cast the K for sure. I recently purchased the M and haven't had a chance to carry it out yet.

Looking at all of them in a 6 gear ratio. I like the feel of the MGL but the spool size of the 200’s. I found a scorpion 6:2 for $220 new so I threw that one in there as well. I’ve only owned one Shimano and it’s the scorpion dc in a 7:4 and love it but thinking bout trying one of the others.
Edit: actually after further comparison, there’s not much of a difference in spool size like I thought lol

Yes it fits perfect!yes I lost some line capacity but not a problem to me,cast smoother
I like the aggressive knurling on the spool tension knob (M). I'll wait for the Japanese release and save some money come February. 😜

2019 scorpion mgl fits on curado k 200? did you lose line capacity since the scorpion is a 150 reel?
How old is the K and have you torn it down and re-oiled/greased it?

Haha yeah man the first thing I do when I take a new reel out of the box is rip it apart and tune her up! Get that shelf grease off the bearings and give em a drink, hook up the main, pinion, and drag. Obviously always takes some break in time before you really know what’s what too ya know? I don’t think there is any point in throwing it up against the MGL 150 is there? Haha 😎 I’m sure I’ll still get the M just to satisfy the addiction. 🎣😁🤙🏽
It’s not always about distance. But. Ease of cast. Hitting targets. Around cover. V
Sticking with my k I have the mgl150 so I think I have my bases covered

@@ProRybalka Big Swimbaits aren’t thrown on DC reels kid. 😁 Get a 300 or 400 size reel with very low gear ratio and a high max drag. 🤙🏽
DCMD is made for huge swimbaits. MD stands for monster drive.
Do you still feel a "uneven" gear feel on the M?
I didnt notice anything cranking the frog in on the field

Might be different once its broken in a little. I clean it up when they are knew.
Curado K still the best in long cast with heavy baits from 18 gram and above😎
There are good and bad things about K and M. Biggest disappointment on the M is no 5.1 gear yet. I think they used some of the tech they had in other reels to lighten the spool so you can throw lighter baits.. it doesn’t always translate to distance. Silent tune doesn’t do anything for me. It was fine with or without it. Overall I think this reel is no better than the K. Gloss finish reels usually look terrible after a season. They show scratches way worse. I’d pass on the M.
Couple points here a un-aerodynamic frog and a heavy action rod likely affected you light brake test results. The M casts so much better in the real world then the K its NOT even a comparison.

Take two brakes of then see I have both and no way is out cast m no way
Disappointed, it doesn’t make sense cast on 4 brakes. Same like set mag dial on 18-20 or so.
I think MOST people dont really understand how to get the best out of SVS Infinity brakes
