The recommended weight of an arrow is 5 grains per pound. Example, 75 (lbs bow) X 5 (grains) = 375 grains as a recommended minimum weight. This arrow is lighter than the recommended specs, but I am trying to push my bow and see what it can do. I DON'T RECOMMEND COPYING THIS. But, if I wanted to stay inside that rule, I would bump up to a 250 spine and heavier insert, getting me closer to 400 grains.

The only thing I would say about this is that you obviously have a huge platform and not everyone who watches you is an advanced archer that understands or knows about the 5 grains/lb rule. I would’ve made a point to make it very clear in the video that you do not recommend shooting arrows this light at that draw weight.
Love your content man and hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way. Shoot straight at TAC brother. I’d love to see a video on how these ended up tuning for you I’ve often ran into tuning issues around 310 fps.

Before I knew any better, I shot 290grains at 88lbs, 30 in. It was in the early 90’s, and the newest bows could shoot 5gpp, (carbons arrows were just becoming available) but mine was a couple years older, and required 7 or 8gpi (I think it was 8). Surprisingly it took thousands of shots before limbs got some small cracks. The pro shop weighed my arrows and explained my mistake. He replaced the limbs under warranty anyway

Need some advice man, I live in the city but Ive always been attracted to hunting and fishing. My parents aren't big in either and they've always told me know to owning a pellet rifle or any firearm, and even bows. There's an archery range right by my house and for years I talk about how sick it would be to get a compound bow and take it to the range. Turning 20 this Friday and I told them if I could finally get a compound bow and surprisingly they said yes. But now that I got the okay, Ive been debating it solely because of city living. Live in socal and there aren't many bow shops near me and I am not to knowledgeable about building my own setup. I feel like I wouldn't get to utilize the bow because of my location. Thoughts?

Build and sell lots of these in my store. And I’ve been hunting with this arrow for two seasons and killed every deer I’ve shot at with a total pass through. And I have yet to have one break.
    V3X-33 & Phase4-33, 65# DW, 30” total arrow length, 75gr titanium outsert, 125gr Magnus Stinger, 445gr total arrow weight, 19.9% FOC, 279fps.
Super accurate arrow, excellent for hunting and for building high FOC.

I’ve got this arrow in 350 spine 120 gn glue in insert AAE hybrid vanes. It’s 325 gn. @ 326 fps.
It’s fast but I think it may like a less aggressive cam. Basically it’s finicky and I think you’ll go back to something heavier.

Chris you just made a really good choice those arrows are going to scream make sure you look at the box it will tell you the average weight per arrow so hopefully each box is close in weight. Also with your Lift expect to see some very very impressive numbers with FPS!!! You have made an excellent decision in shooting those arrows and I do recommend you use the 50 grain steel and not the 20 grain aluminum inserts you want to get the weight up to 400-415 grains and you will have a good result in the end.

    • @ChrisBeeReal

It's not due to the arrow being light, but because the arrow is light you can see how easily the arrow can be affected by nock pinch/inconsistencies on the nock end.

370gr rip XV killed my buck last season @35yds with a qad exodus. Total pass thru with bohning heat 4 fletch, thru the ribs on both sides and stuck 15" into the hard ground on the exit. Buck was 200# dressed so it wasn't a little guy. Only issue I have with the rip XV is they are not very durable so I already picked up a dozen rip tko's just in case but as of now I'm gonna stick with the rip XV. I shot thousands of shots with these rip XV arrows from my omnia and have had no issues with the bow. Modern bow's efficiency is much better than it was in years past so these light arrows shouldn't hurt the bow but I can only speak for elite omnia from experience. Heck my factory winners choice strings threw all the arrow's and made it thru 4,500 shots and my entire hunting season before I swapped them out and I was out 5-6 times a week for 3 months of the season with this bow.

@@ChrisBeeRealI thought you were joking! Then I thought I better search and, sure enough, you guys sell speed tapes. Haha I am in between sight tape 2 and 3 on the UV slider tapes that come from the factory with the sight, with a 386gr arrow at 27.5" DL at 70lbs 302fps. I am going to hunt with a ~460-470gr arrow at either 75 or 80lbs, whichever gets me around 280fps, so I won't be needing any speed tapes. But good to know they exist for TAC type of events where I might want to go real fast!

332 with a 80 pound bow blows Mathews that is 4.375 grains per pound. IBO speed is supposed to be 348 with the 29.5 and 343 on the 30 inch lift. IBO is calculated with a 5 grain per pound spec. You were shooting a Bow at 10 pounds over what would be at most a arrow for a 70 pound Bow. That 350 grain Arrow should be going a heck of a lot faster.
