Thanks, man! The KSDs have a phenomenal texture… really sticks to your hand. Unfortunately, they’re a little flimsy. Not sure I’d want ‘em for hard use… but… they do improve shootability.
I always liked the 6904 since I saw it used as Keanu's plainclothes/off duty gun in Speed. I picked up one used last year that was made in 94, the same year Speed was released.
Haha. I watched Speed a few years ago purely for the 6904. I think mine was made in 94 as well-I looked up serial prefix and it was either 94 or 95. They’re great all around guns. Thanks for the comment!
@HipsterTactical I like your pistols...I bought a 4606-1 and out checkered walnut one piece grips on it. It's my all time favorite 45 built on a 10mm frame. A question for you...will the series you have cycle a clip of just empty cases in the mag? I know the 4506-1 will
@@allenlindsey1175 I have a full review on the 4506-1 (Walk Softly and Carry a Big Smith). I love mine… and yes, it does cycle empty cases. I just tried a few empties in my 6904… 2 out of 3. Not bad. But I think that’s kind of a unique attribute of the 45 Smiths. Thanks for the comment!
My grandfather carried a 6946 as his duty pistol with the 15 round magazine (a 5906 mag with a magazine adaptor) and off duty he carried the 6946 with the 12 round magazines. I notice a lot least felt recoil and easier follow up shots on the 6946 vs my single stack 3913 both are amazing guns
Just bought a never fired 3914 last week! My First pistol and when I talked to the owner he said he had two & daily carried one while the other sat in a safe for 20 years!
Nice! That's a fantastic first pistol. It's kind of an ideal size for a do-all carry pistol. And the DA/SA setup is perfect for any carry situation. I especially love the DA triggers on these old Smiths. Thanks!
Those grips look so nice on that pistol. They just pop with the blued finish. Always loved those smiths growing up watching action movies in the 90s there classics
Matt! I have one of these! My wife went into a lgs to get a CZ 75, and the owner had one in the counter LNIB. It’s still LNIB, because I keep forgetting I have it. 😁👍👍👍👍
I remember you saying you had one! They’re really sold, all-around guns. I actually just put the 6904 slide in my 5906 frame-probably the coolest-looking 3rd gen I’ve ever seen. Seems like it would function fine… Smith actually sold an “SSV” model with that setup. I might try shooting it.
The wood grips and the dark alloy are just freaking gorgeous together.

Yep, I totally agree with you. The 69XX guns are way underrated in terms of how they handle. Thanks so much for the comment!
I like them, When guns are all metal, DA/SA, yeah. Thats the way to go
Yep. Can't argue with you there. Thanks!

Keanu Reeves off duty weapon in Speed
@@RobertLingenfelter-h1t yes! I’ve watched that movie solely for that reason 😂

Thanks, my friend! Yeah--Keanu carried a 6904 in Speed! I admit--I watching the movie purely for that reason, not long ago :) Thanks!

@@HipsterTactical That sounds cool, and maybe even kinky! 😁
Why do you aim with your left eye?
That’s my dominant eye

Thanks!
That's one ugly ass pistol
Why do you think it’s ugly?
It reminds me of the bren ten which is also an ugly ass pistol
@@BruhMackie I feel like there about 6000 other pistols that look more like the Bren-ten than this… but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
@@HipsterTactical and all 6000 would be just as ugly
Haha. Fair enough, bro.
