    One of the few musicians here on the Tube that can make a demo video entertaining. I personally watch many of these just for the demo songs. Such a solid guitar player.

    Pete can get better guitar tones in a Hotel room than some can in a Studio haha

    A pedal demo half filmed in a US studio and half in a Japanese hotel room.. that's pretty rock n' roll. Great stuff as always, Pete!

    Love all my strymon pedal but this is my favourite
    Pair with an El cap for super lush delays/verbs

    Strymon is a serious contender!

  • @davidbrown2806

    Strymon has three delay pedals. Would be nice to see a video comparing the three so us guys that can only afford one of them can get the right advise. Most comparisons on TH-cam just play against different settings. Rather hear a conversation, that tells us which pedal best fits different different types of music styles.

    I love you're guitar playing Pete! Great video and superb settings on the Strymon DIG.
    Michael Thompson turned me on to this awesome pedal! I love his clean ambient sound so I asked him about it. He said he uses the Strymon DIG and other delay pedals instead of his Eventide H3000 Micropitchshift patch like he used to like in the Tim and Pete show you did in Michael's studio...God Bless! Rob

      Thanks! These delay demo songs are fun to make- no need for "flash", they are all about texture which is refreshing for me.

    • @TavaresProject
      @TavaresProject 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Pete Thorn I know what you mean....just wanted to see where you were going to take it melodically...key change,etc... And those chord inversions just made it sound so damn brilliant and interesting.....fantastic really without adding the flash....its an explosion of melody. We as guitarist overlook these thing. So thank you for the reminder. Cheers!

    Now if it had a total of 8 delays, we would be in UD Stomp territory. Thanks Pete.
    This is probably the only pedal I would get to substitute for my Magicstomps at live gigs

    The first song is kinda flirting with Eric Johnson’s “Trademark”. Like the vibes on this pedal, especially the golden ratio. Really thinking about switching out a Boss DD5 and a Boss CE2w for this DIG. What do you guys think?

    Pete, you always do such a great job with these demos, always dig your playing, precision and professionalism! What is your recording path on hotel room session - Axe Fx? I'm pretty ignorant of recording techniques. You usually do a great job of mentioning your amp set up, etc, but it would be great if you could include that info on all your demos.... helps me to fill in the dots! Thanks for your help and open attitude:)

    • @PeteThorn
      @PeteThorn  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +yebdox In this vid, I used the UA Friedman Dirty Shirley amp plug in for all the tones- reason is, I thought, I gotta do this one in stereo- so I plugged into the DIG, stereo out into my UA audio interface, and then pulled up the Friedman plug in on 2 channels, and dialed in a basic clean sound. I just wanted to really put the focus on the delay.

    Very ’80’s (and early ’90’s) pedal. No bad thing. It was a big decade for lush delays. :-)
    Many demos on TH-cam for the DIG bring to mind David Sylvian ’Gone to Earth’ or William Orbit ’Hinterland’ stuff. No complaints here.

    Id love to know how everything was routed and where the Strymon fits into this chain.Somtimes Stereo fx is rather elusive because in a live setting it's 2 amps/speakers/mics/and a sound guy who is irritated at the fact he might actually have to match these levels and pan the channels at his desk
