Stunning. Wonderful sounds from the pedal - and from the guitarist. Very creative. I bet Strymon sold a lot of these units on the strength of this video. Beautifully done - very inspiring.
This pedal with the Volante and El Cap is a heavenly workstation. I haven’t ever chained the two together until I saw your other 2 videos. It makes me play guitar and has me setting up a pedal board separate for vocals. Thanks for the inspiration
I prefer the warmth of El Cap and it's overall "vibe" but this is still an impressive piece. My 2 fave Strymon Pedals hands down are the Big Sky and El Cap though. These guys know how to do Reverb and Delay better than anyone bar none. Those 2 pedals sound as good as any tape echo and tube reverb unit I have heard and the big sky gets into eventide/Lexi quality too. Instant Robin Guthrie!!! Great stuff and playing.
You sir have earned yourself a subscriber! Amazing playing and amazing pedal. I just bought a Strymon Blue Sky, should be here in a few days. It will be my first Strymon pedal and watching your demos makes me want to try some more Strymon equipment!
7mths later and I'm on 4 Strymon pedals at the moment! 😅😅.. I have the DIG coming later this week .. it will be my 5th.. best pedals ever made, nothing compares that I've tried. Thanks for feeding into my addiction.. haha! 😅😅🎼🎼🎛🎛
I thought I would have preferred the El Cap over the dig, but this demo to me sounds a lot better than the El Cap demo of yours (no offense to your other video), it must be something in the lush sounds of the dual delays... thanks for sharing.
Of course keep in mind that 2 delays at the same time sound a lot better than just one. It has a lot more possibilities. I like the El Cap better, because I have a lot more control over the modulation and deterioration of the repeats. On the Dig it's a 3-way switch: Off, Light, Deep. A lot less flexible on that part!
@@AntoineMichaudGuitarLooping So... I'm actually picking up not only the El Cap, but the DIG and a super day dreamer lol - whoops. Gotta say, the combination of a bunch of delays is really interesting to me (saw your other video with the el cap and dig combined and really enjoyed the sound of that. Thanks!
All DIG! No reverb, no other pedal. You'd be suprised how far you can go only with 2 delays fighting each other and finding many great sounding overtones.
What should I choose between this or the DD200? The latter has midi control which for delay is amazing. It’s also $50 cheaper and runs on batteries 🤔 hmm
This is so wonderful ^_^ Also, I have a somewhat tricky video idea. Not sure how easy it is to do: Have you ever tried making a video of you playing outdoors with a cool view (on a hill maybe)? I think nobody has done this with an e guitar yet so the reverb and delays could make this pretty epic. (Finding power might make things a bit complicated though, maybe with a power converter in the car)
El cap is usable in every situation. The DIG is meant to to have more 80s delay tones I believe but if you like the sounds there is no reason you couldn't use it either. I think it's a bit more specialized tho.
Hello Antoine, i know this video Is old so you hardly Will reply me..anyway i try..i recently got a dig v.1..i'm pretty sure i saw a video where dig made a crossing delay..the delay crossed each other from left to right ...i m pretty sure It was One of your videos..but maybe i m wrong...do you know if dig has this kind of feature?..thanks anyway to you or whoever else Will reply..
It's in the secondary functions! Hold both switches at the same and then turn the "Mix 2" knob at the center to 12 o'clock, and now you'll be in Ping Pong mode where the delays bounce from left to right! Of course, it only works if you're using the pedal in stereo!
Strymon has at least 4 different delay pedals. maybe 5. can you, or anyone explain why? What is the difference between them? I can see maybe having two. One might have a reverb, maybe a loop in one... But 4?
It's a very nice question and I will be releasing a new video next week that explains almost that: what is the difference between delays types! It's featuring 2 of my Strymon delays. So be sure to subscribe to my channel and stay tuned!
All these dreamy sounds coming out of just two locked rooms! One is DIG and the other is your head! well done! mind if I ask how you record the sounds? are u plugged into an amp and then recorded all through a mic or are plugged in straight to your computer audio interface and then into your virtual mixer or is it something else! the sound is just so crystal clear!!!!!!!!!!!! wow! plz share brother!!!! tnx!
Ali Aa Yes it's 2 real amps with one Shure SM57 on each amp into my Scarlett 6i6 audio interface. Nothing very crazy here and can still sound very good :)
Lovely sounds! whats your general setup? specially interested in amp, guitar and how you pan the delays left and right if recorded through an amp(s)... thanks!
Guitar: Suhr Classic Antique Stratocaster, mostly neck pickup (ML standard pickups) Amps: Vox AC15 & Suhr Badger 30, each miced with a Shure SM57 and panned Left and Right respectively in Cubase. Thanks!
Yeah, it's an amazing delay pedal. I have bought and sold many delay pedals and this baby just stays on the board. Great demo btw. Tried several of your settings this morning, cheers.
Hi Antoine, beautiful sounds, I'm looking forward to trying these out! I just got a Dig and I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. When I have the pedal in either ping pong or series and turn the mix knob past 3 o'clock on either delay 1 or delay 2, the dry signal completely disappears. And when I have it in parallel and turn the mix knob past 3 o'clock the dry signal moves from the center out to the side and I get this widely panned stereo sound with the dry signal on one side and the delay on the other. I'm using it mono in/stereo out and listening on headphones. Is this normal behavior for the pedal? In all scenarios I was just using delay 1 or delay 2, not both together. I'm especially wondering about the dry signal disappearing past 3 o'clock. Many thanks!
Solid chops may man!!!! If the Blue Sky and El Capistan had a child, this would be it. Great tones and some quality ambient sounds. Damn you Strymon!!!!! Damn you!!!!!!!
Yes, I think you could get close on Dual mode with the Timeline with the right amount of modulation speed and depth. Not the same, but close with some tweaking!
If it's going to be your first and only pedal to create ambient, I would go with the DIG. You get 2 delays and possibilities of crossover reverbs when you blend both delays together. Great for ambient tones. The Flint is very nice, but you'll get simpler sounds. The DIG can go pretty deep!
Thanks for the inspiring videos, I signed up for your free mini course to explore what I can learn from it. Would like to seek your comment if TC Triple Delay or Eventide H9 harmonizer (Max) can do what Strymon DIG does? Thanks :)
Jacob Park El Capistan all the way! With the digital and dual mode on the Timeline you can touch a lot of the ground of the DIG, but the tape mode doesn't even come close to what the El Cap can produce in terms of tape warmth and effects. I would chose the El Capistan for sure!
You can do so much more than the Dual mode on the Timeline! I don't remember if you can have complete control on both delays subdivisions and time while have different mode (series, parallel, ping pong) on the Timeline, but I doubt. This is the best digital-voiced delay pedal I have tried! No wonder why I love Strymon products so much.
Hi! Need some opinion, its gonna be my 1st strymon pedal so Im stuck between choosing either el capistan or dig. I currently do not own any delays, which should I get 1st?? Both sound so damn good!
What sounds more appealing to you? Having 2 delays in the same pedal (Strymon Dig) OR having an integrated looper & reverb in the delay pedal (Strymon El Capistan)? I have a video where I compare 3 delays, and both pedals are in there. Maybe it can help you choose. It's here: th-cam.com/video/RwD24jS1cuM/w-d-xo.html
Hmmm both are just as appealing, I usually play alt rock song or japanese rock songs. Tone wise Im leaning towards the El Capistan, however the Dig allows me to do so much interesting stuff, from what I heard from your [10 Fav sounds] of DIG against the El Cap I think I'll have more uses of it's function for the type of music I play and I think with enough tweaking I might be able to get the Dig to get some what close to the El Cap's? Tho it would still be very different haha XD Alright! Im gonna go with a Dig 1st and save up again for the EL Capistan, both are like a must have! Thanks for the great demos very helpful keep it up :)
+Ivan Bailon I've had my problems with the obscura, I think it is little too powerfull to be in a box that size. Dont understand me wrong it is an amazing pedal after you learn to use it, but I had it for allmost a year, before I was able to dial in the settings that I liked (the small knobs were hard to handle) but yes, obscura is a great delay!
V519200 for the price range the Obscura its so cool. but the Mxr carbón copy...and the earthquaker devices building great great delays. The fucking money is the problem! 😃
Very nice, have you tried the Deco? Getting an El Cap today, had the Dig but just could figure out the dual modes, I didnt really like the sound but seam like it was just me after listening to this
Never tried the Deco... yet! Would love to! And yes, you have to be patient with pedals sometimes. If you're not able to get the sounds you want, but purchased the pedal because you heard some cool sounds in the first place, you might want to seek for some help instead of selling it ! I would have shared my presets with you with pleasure. That being said, I still like the El Capistan more than the DIG if that can reassure you ;)
+Monochrome Seasons just tried the El Capistan for the first time ever and I'm very impressed. Sounds just like I thought it would and love how the repeats come at the perfect interval with a nice percussive nature. Sound on sound is interesting to but to me this is such a nicer sound than the Dig.

Stunning. Wonderful sounds from the pedal - and from the guitarist. Very creative. I bet Strymon sold a lot of these units on the strength of this video. Beautifully done - very inspiring.
Thank you Edward for the kind words, I really appreciate it! Have a nice day :)
😊
Any chance you could share more information on the signal path? Guitar, amp, other pedals?
Edward Cox I bought one, then saw this video lol
"Durutti Column" -in-a-box, especially with that clean guitar sound. awesome demo.
The opening sound is heavenly
Antoine you are costing me a fortune, well done!
i go back to this from time to time, i was gonna sell my DIG, but it's just so beautiful.
This pedal with the Volante and El Cap is a heavenly workstation. I haven’t ever chained the two together until I saw your other 2 videos. It makes me play guitar and has me setting up a pedal board separate for vocals. Thanks for the inspiration
I've been on the fence about getting this pedal for my project, but after watching this video it completely made me realize to get it. Thanks!
It's a pretty versatile pedal for rhythms, you have so much options on how both delays interact with each other! Very easy to create beautiful pads :)
I prefer the warmth of El Cap and it's overall "vibe" but this is still an impressive piece. My 2 fave Strymon Pedals hands down are the Big Sky and El Cap though. These guys know how to do Reverb and Delay better than anyone bar none. Haha, wow thanks David, you now beat my record of having 4 Strymon at a time ;)
Some awesome sounds, thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for posting this video! I just bought one of these pedals and I was a bit overwhelmed by all of it's features.
loving the sounds on this one, another amazing product from Strymon. and excellent usage from yourself :)
Thanks man ! and thanks to Strymon for making amazing pedals :) @strymon
I still have my old Roland Space Echo, but haven’t gotten new tape for it in years. This takes that kind of delays to a whole other universe !
Sound #6 oh my oh my, sublime 💯
These are all great, thank you! I've been playing around with #6, and it's amazing for ambient types of playing. Your videos are very helpful.
Sound #6 is incredible!
Awesome video. I keep meaning to sit down with this video one day and try out these settings. Wonderful.
love them - I'll be back next week to try each one after my Dig arrives - thanks
That big chord swell you use on sound #4 is 😙👌
Best demo of this wonderful pedal
Great demo man, this pedal its amazing. my next adquisition, sure!
are all the chorus sounds just from the dig? that's amazing, i have a timeline but want this instead now! strymon are amazing
All the sounds come from the DIG. Yeah, their pedals are amazing!
so nice
Love number 6. So much of this sound reminds me of Vini Reilly from The Durutti Column.
I remember the first video I saw of yours, with the Strymon Big Sky. It was back when you were doing videos in your bedroom. How far you have come...
You were truly there since my first videos! But I still have a lot to do to make my channel grow even more :)
So nice!!! Dreamy, heavenly... strsss relieving .
I'm sure Strymon effects are made from alien tech left over from Avengers #1.
My two cents in BASIC:
10 Print "Wow !"
20 Goto 10
This helped me make the decision to buy the DIG!
Greg Kirkelie Great :)

Beautiful settings and playings! ;-)
Thanks John :D
Might pick one of these up to go with my volante and be set on delay lol
Woah, Sound number 6! IS that all Dig, or is there some reverb/shimmer in there?
All DIG! No reverb, no other pedal. You'd be suprised how far you can go only with 2 delays fighting each other and finding many great sounding overtones.
What do you recommend to get Timeline or DIG or maybe both
My fave delay pedal of strymon.
I can easily understand why ;)
Wow thanks for the quick response. I really like your video demos and your imaginative chord progressions. And also El capistan is way too cool.
Thanks man, I really appreciate it!
What should I choose between this or the DD200? The latter has midi control which for delay is amazing. It’s also $50 cheaper and runs on batteries 🤔 hmm
I think you answered the question yourself :-)
Strymon really are the best right now
Can I use it in a acoustic guitar?
What a brilliant video
This is so wonderful ^_^
Also, I have a somewhat tricky video idea. Not sure how easy it is to do:

I think nobody has done this with an e guitar yet so the reverb and delays could make this pretty epic.
(Finding power might make things a bit complicated though, maybe with a power converter in the car)
There's already someone doing exactly this! He's called Perry Frank, go take a look at his channel on TH-cam!
+Monochrome Seasons oh, I haven't seen him yet. Thank you! :)
Beetween this and the el cap which one is more usable in "normal situations"
El cap is usable in every situation. The DIG is meant to to have more 80s delay tones I believe but if you like the sounds there is no reason you couldn't use it either. I think it's a bit more specialized tho.
Really just depends what delay sound you want. Analog, digital, tape, something more unique like this?
Take both and have them in line. They're awesome. ;)

i wonder if you could accomplish the same thing with two ducking delays?
Isn't there another Strymon pedal that does something similar to the DIG pedal?
The Strymon Timeline also has a Dual Delay, but it doesn't have nearly all the options and controls of this one!
cool!
Nice demo. If this unit is hooked up to a monophonic synth, can it turn the mono sound into a stereo sound? Thanks.
you earned my Sub bro :)
Mine as well :D

Dig the DIG!
That's a great name for marketing, isn't it? ;)
Yeah, it's an amazing delay pedal. I have bought and sold many delay pedals and this baby just stays on the board.
Great demo btw. Tried several of your settings this morning, cheers.
Nice, have fun man!
Do you have to be running stereo to have both delays on?
No, you can stay in mono and have both!
you and Brian Carrol can get along pretty well!
Love no. 6
Hi Antoine, beautiful sounds, I'm looking forward to trying these out! I just got a Dig and I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. Have you tried A/B'ing this with the dual delay setting on the Timeline?
Unfortunately not, I had the Timeline many years ago, but don't have it anymore!
How well does this work Strymon DIG work with bass guitars?
Ahhhhhhhh jeez merci bcp. J'en ai reçu une récemment et je CAPOTE sur le son mais j'ai aucune idée de comment elle fonctionne.
in your opinión where's is the best pedal...El capistan o Dig? Thanks.
Ivan Bailon My personnal favorite is the El Capistan, but both are outstanding!
Monochrome Seasons thanks man, El capistan wins 😃
Hi Antoine.
What pedal you would choose Strymon Dig or Flashback from TC ?
Can I use it with bass?
Mariano Urban-Wagner it can be used on bass
Solid chops may man!!!! If the Blue Sky and El Capistan had a child, this would be it. Great tones and some quality ambient sounds. Damn you Strymon!!!!! Damn you!!!!!!!

Monochrome Seasons , thanks i ll have to give it try, wonderfull playing as well by the way

If it's going to be your first and only pedal to create ambient, I would go with the DIG. You get 2 delays and possibilities of crossover reverbs when you blend both delays together. Great for ambient tones. The Flint is very nice, but you'll get simpler sounds. The DIG can go pretty deep!
Monochrome Seasons alright bro ! Thanks I aprecciate... One point for DIG 👍
which guitar tuning do u used here?
Standard tuning!
Sounds fabulous! But what other pedals were used in the signal path?
It's the only pedal used in this video. All sounds produced come from it!
Thanks for the inspiring videos, I signed up for your free mini course to explore what I can learn from it. Would like to seek your comment if TC Triple Delay or Eventide H9 harmonizer (Max) can do what Strymon DIG does? Thanks :)
Hey Monochrome Seasons. I've already have timeline, seeking for second delay pedal to use along with it. DIG or El cap? Thanks in advance.
Jacob Park El Capistan all the way! With the digital and dual mode on the Timeline you can touch a lot of the ground of the DIG, but the tape mode doesn't even come close to what the El Cap can produce in terms of tape warmth and effects. I would chose the El Capistan for sure!
Monochrome Seasons awesome! I appreciate your expert opinion! El cap it is:)
Great video monochrome, do you reckon you could get sound 6 with the timeline? I just got it and am trying to figure out all the sounds. Thanks :D
Thanks for the great demos very helpful keep it up :)
Well, that's a pretty good reflection :) glad I could help!
I was curious, what tuning is your guitar in? Great demo...
Jeremy Tesch Standard Tuning. Thanks :)
Awesome
Is this the pedal only? Or do you have other effects?
Pedal only! And that's the same for all my other demos, it's only the pedal showed on screen.
Nice!!!
Thanks for watching Vahan!
All these pedals should have a Hold/Freeze option, like the pioneer, the TimeFactor. It's a sin they don't :-(
This vid is so inspiring. Great sounds and tasteful playing. Did You use some reverb pedal after DIG, or just DIG only?
DIG only! The 2 delays fighting each other really gives the impression that there is a reverb, but it's the only pedal used.
Wow. That is even more impressive.
wolfhorsky in my opinión...the Dig is the best delay today...and the digitech Obscura.
Great video. This pedal is 100x better than I thought it was. El cap still wins. And the timeline can't do this at all.
I agree with all those statements!
That being said, I still like the El Capistan more than the DIG if that can reassure you ;)
The Deco does the best chorus and flanger thats not like a normal pedal which I didnt know I would like so much and the saturation side is brilliant.
+Monochrome Seasons just tried the El Capistan for the first time ever and I'm very impressed. Sounds just like I thought it would and love how the repeats come at the perfect interval with a nice percussive nature. Sound on sound is interesting to but to me this is such a nicer sound than the Dig.
Eric sin sinner I'm glad you found the right pedal for you Eric :)
Wow.
Very good handpicked selection, I have a use for this but I am using a wet dry rig so how will sound with the two amps?
Wow
Dammit.. I just bought a DD-7. Should have spent more and gotten this instead.
#5 #9 #10
Robin Guthrie, where are you!?
Guitar?
Suhr Classic Antique Stratocaster!
S-S-S, S-S-H? Maple or rosewood?
S-S-S, roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard, ML Standard pickups
Not impressed with the sounds
