    Thank you for actually doing a review on a delay pedal with some gain and overdrive! Seems like most reviewers are under the impression that we’re all in U2 tribute bands were everything is crystal clean.

    Type mimics the way old units worked. 12-bit is old Roland/Boss, like the DD-3, and adm is Korg SDD-3000.

    I just got one of these, and it's also my first Strymon. Well, suffice to say, it almost certainly won't be my last. What an amazing pedal.

    I dig your DIG demo.
    One of the best demonstrations on the internet of this pedal outside of Strymon's own.
    Thanks for going stereo. I'd love to hear you do a shootout between DIG and the Vintage Delays algorithm in the new H90 and also hear how close you can get to either of them using the Axe-Fx. How about an 80's stereo digital rack style delay extravaganza?!

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Strymon took all that glorious character of old rack delays, made it stereo and easier to use. My favourite pedal they've ever made. I did an SDE-1000/Rose/Dig side by side that I need to expand upon at some point.

    • @BobGuido
      @BobGuido ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeonTodd Yeah, that was a good video too. I liked that one a lot. The Rose seems like one of those pedals that gets so close to what everyone wants, but just misses the mark enough to get put on the B-Team.

    Amazing video! Incredible sounds and playing. The DIG is my favorite delay out there. I've been through many many and always come back to the DIG. I have two on my board along with the two favorite switches, so I get 4 presets. I love not only the tones, which never seem to get in the way of your core guitar tone or playing, but the pedal's dry pass through (ie part of your dry signal never gets converted digitally) really keeps the feel of your guitar. Thanks for the great video!

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Two separate delays in series, true ping pong delay and dual stereo ping-pong modes. The modulation is voiced differently too. Volante has spring reverb and 4 seperate delay taps and can get considerably darker/crunchier than this.

  • @KipCount
    @KipCount 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you think at this price point... Dig vs DD-200? I had a Dig at one point and sold it. It's amazing at the thing that it does, but I felt it was limited in the voice of the actual delay for the money. I've now got a DD-200, and it scratches the itch for dual delay in the dual delay mode, but it doesn't quite match the Dig for this. Which would you choose if you could only have one on your board?

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Classic case of "does one thing but it's the best at that one thing" vs "does lots of things pretty good". I realistically need 2 delay tones live, with one being slightly louder than the other, so this would tick the box.

Some of Strymon from what I heard are EX Tc employees….so if anyone can come close to a 2290 in a pedal it’s them. I know nothing IS a 2290…..but they are 2k plus now. This is close enough.

    Honestly bro, you should teach a master class in how to review guitar gear. No long intro music, no life story, no Yngwie Malmsteen impression. You are clearly a great player, but you only take out your chops when it makes sense in the review. You get into it with short, relevant commentary, and then you demo the gear, which you clearly understand. I only wish you demo'd every piece of gear I'm interested in. Thx.

    I think the DIG is super sweet but the El Capistan is where it’s at!

      I think I did a vid on the El cap a while back. Pretty fantastic unit, I really like the reverb on it too

    Despite the age of my Eventide Time Factor, I still like it more and love all the preset banks. However, using knobs instead of all the eventide menus is a big plus. I wish you could compare this to an eventide. Either way, another astounding demonstration from Leon here!

      Timefactor was on my board for years, definitely one of the best delays ever made IMO. I still have a H9 with all the TF algorithms and I am planning a big delay shootout soon :D

    Its really lame that you cant save presets...

      I think you can save one as a "favourite". I was a bit bummed this didn't have some kind of Midi over TRS functionality like some of their newer pedals. A revamped version with more presets would absolutely kill.

      @@LeonTodd no midi switching? I am astounded.
