Your instructions are very thorough. You cover every thing that we would question. I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials. Have you ever worked at a school teaching?

Love this block, also love the red fabric you used. Is the red from a current line?? I’ve said this before but ur instruction are so very clear, you’re a natural teacher. Have a blessed day.

Hi, thanks for your comments. The red fabrics are from the most recent Bonnie and Camille collection from Moda, called One Fine Day. Happy quilting, Jayne

Have you made an entire quilt with this pattern using all scraps? If so, is there a preference for dark or light fabrics in specific sections of the block to make the design stand out better? I plan to make this in all scraps and was curious about color placement. Thank you for your very detailed instructions.

Hi Linda, if I was going to make a scrappy version of this block into a quilt I would put the light fabrics where the background fabric is on the original block and the darker fabrics where the red fabric is. Good luck and happy quilting, Jayne

Hi Beccy, the videos are the instructions for each block. I am considering creating a book with all the patterns and once this is complete I will let everyone know by TH-cam and my website poppypatchwork.com. Hit the subscribe button to keep informed. Thanks for your interest. Happy Quilting, Jayne

Hello Jayne, Thank you for a wonderful video. I am new to quilting so at this stage just making different blocks and getting comfortable with the different cutting techniques as you have shown in this block with the flying geese. My question is at the finish, should the block measure 12x12? if it is a bit over should I square it up? Thank you again.

Hi, it’s the difference between “finished” and “unfinished”. A quilt block is finished when it is sewn into a quilt, it is unfinished when you have completed the block but not sewn it into a quilt. At this stage it still needs the 1/4” seam allowance so it should measure 1/2” bigger than it’s finished size. So most of my blocks are complete at 12.5” before you sew them into a quilt. I hope that makes sense. Happy quilting, Jayne
