I agree with all the comments. Frankly, I do not have words that might adequately describle the emotion and brilliance of this man. He was probably the first guitar player in my lifetime to evoke tears...wow.
this track gave me the biggest goosebumps right from the start , the guy is , was and always will be a legend and a huge part of folk and jazz history........awesome , rest in piece Jeff
As of 2/16/19 there are 10 dislikes. 10 people who are either tone deaf, stupid or a combination of both. Jeff was a monster guitarist. A man with the tone and style of NO other. His unique sound is a by-product of his approach to playing. Until some one else comes along that plays the guitar in the same way, there will never be another. Even if some one comes along, it will be a COPY of Jeff. Jeff will always remain in a class of his own. He had no musical peers, he was a man playing his own style in a way that NO other man could. The music world lost a true original. RIP Jeff You are missed by millions.
Jeffrey and Stevie. JH from Canada, music via Austin?? I was flipping channels and saw him in Roadhouse and thought holy sht that's Jeff H! I never watched the movie before but I'm glad I saw JH and had to look him up... it's been a LONG time since I saw him last. May he RIP and dueling with SRV in the etherial plane. I wonder if SRV knew JH? Do you? ✌️💜 And music 🎶.
Jeff Healey was a most phenomenal guitarist! I was blessed to have seen him play live, back in the mid 80's! What a great vibe!!! Thanks for posting this video😀
went to see him in Molson Park in Barrie in the early 90's. 6 bands, he was the headline act. watched people getting carried away on stretchers all afternoon, when it came over the PA system - Don't Do the Brown Acid, like woodstock :p. Jeff got on stage. Got set up. Played about 4 notes when it went from hot hot hot to buckets of cold cold cold rain. wish i had gotten to see them again .....
Just an amazing guitarist! His skill is off the charts! Legendary Jeff Healey was one of the very top blues guitarists ever! He was so good! RIP Jeff I hope you are jamming with SRV in heaven right now! And BTW his voice is awesome!
The two giants of Canadian music, and gifted blues/rock players to boot - Jeff Healey and Frank Marino. As good as anyone, anywhere, anytime. I got to see Jeff in Sydney - we just need Frank to pay us a visit.
Now this is music and guitar playing at its best. The youngens of today should listen to this. I have been a fan since Adrianna. Got to see him live in 91 in my home town. Amazing
Amazing. A blind man who is an a list guitarist. And learned to play in a very unorthodox Technic which he developed. He wanted this. He was far above anyone else. I don't like the word overcome. I don't believe he overcame any thing. He did what he wanted to do. What he desired. And taught us all about how to achieve in life. Inspiration, desire, enjoyed.
He was a master, killer guitar player, Jeff only knew sight in his first year of life, cancer took his eyes, ultimately his life years ago. He truly never understood sight, functioned like you and i, had a family, had a National radio jazz show and a blues and a jazz band. Jeff lived and breathed music from the age of three , played a club less than two weeks before he passed. He was just a down to earth cool guy with an unworldly talent...
Nonsense. Listen to Joe Bonamassa. Jeff was a unique and tremendous talent no doubt, but to say that level of talent isn't around today is niave. There are titans of blues making music NOW that is as good if not better than anything in the past.
Just the sound, the type of blues blues rock they don`t play anymore . Real music, real artist. Fuck Getta & laddy gaga and all the techo shit!!! RIP JEFF!
Truly unbelievable playing. To think I found this through figure skating of all things. The now-legendary Yuzuru Hanyu made his Olympic debut with a record-breaking skate to a mashup of Parisienne Walkways and this performance, and when I first heard it Healey's playing blew my mind just as much as the skating. Spent so long trying to find the right performance of Walkways before someone let me know the second half was a different song lol
Johnny, Johnny---omg, thank you!!! what a tragic loss for the music world. such a huge talent! as for the 4 'nay sayers', go back and watch Justin; he's just your style. leave the real music to us.
I assume that Healey always had to judge people by the intonation of their voices and ability to play well. (Unless he had a trusted sighted friend to give opinions.) Patrick Rush played a marvelous slide guitar solo here, a worthy foil for Healey's outstanding guitar and vocals.
The way Jeff plays that guitar, lap style, is insanely good. Never seen anything like it. Extraordinary talent. RIP, Jeff.

Indeed he does evoke the tears, bittersweet now, tho they may be. 😢🌿
This is by far, the best version of Hoochie Coochie man I have heard!
God Bless Jeff Heally RIP
i think the CD version from Road house was better rendition
this track gave me the biggest goosebumps right from the start , the guy is , was and always will be a legend and a huge part of folk and jazz history........awesome , rest in piece Jeff
Blues man... blues.

I'm a guitar player and I'll never understand how he could play the guitar on his lap like that, and play it as well as he did.
As Jeff got older his voice got bluesier. Great rendition.
Yes that depth that develops when a blues singer had learn to play his vocal chords the way he plays that guitar on his lap.
Jeff Healy & Stevie Ray 🌷🌷👍🏻🇨🇱

Pour moi, la meilleure version de ce classique du blues.
No deja duda alguna de que hay que dejar fluir el alma, el sentimiento, para tocar un instrumento tan bien. GENIAL!!!!!!!!!

Love ya man.....really miss you, Jeff. Playin' for the angels now.
6:55 goes to playing one handed in that scorching solo to drink a cup of water. what a total BOSS!

Okay.. When he holds that one note out for like 2 measures I thought to myself " whoa.. This guy is a true master." Unbelievable guitarist.
hell yeah...and he knew just when to let it fall. fantastic
Also, he was twitching his finger to really make it wail! Not a musician, I'm probably describing improperly, but it was wonderful to hear.
