Meet Modou, one of the most inspiring people in Senegal!
Nearly every single day, he walks alone in the hot streets of Dakar, dressed in a plastic suit from head to toe.
Why does he do this?
To protest against the severe plastic waste, and urge people to care more for the environment.
He got inspired to do this after serving in the army some 20 years ago. Not only did he protect his fellow citizens, but he also learned about the importance to protect our mother earth.
West Africa, much like other regions of the world (I'm looking at you, South East Asia) have a horrible problem of overconsumption of single-use plastic. Thanks to people like Modou, we can educate the local population about the issues that plastic brings, and force them to alter their lifestyles.

We humans have become dependent on plastic for a range of uses from packaging to products
Reducing our use of plastic bags is an easy place to getting our Addiction under control
We do need plastic for trash bags and stuff. Plastic is actually very useful. Without plastic trash bags we would not be able to have durable trash bags.

Recyle instead of throwing away. I live in the Philippines. This a huge problem here too. Were I live plastic is banned. It has not solved the problem.
That guy is doing far better job of raising awareness about plastic rather than just making laws to ban plastic and the plan's implementation isn't good enough in order to solve the problem pragmatically like every government does. #SayNoToPlastics

I work in a platic factory which is a families business, we produce 300 Ton a month and non of it is recycled we focuse on raw material quality. I know this isnt healthy and not positive to our enviroment, but i am trying slowly ti change our production line and make biodegradable. But it needs time and effort

My pocket my dustbin. I keep my waste in my bag and throw in dustbin although my frnds told me to just throw it. But I like cleanliness. Keep it up uncle.i want this awareness and cleanliness in my country and the whole world too.
Did you know that initially plastic bags were created as a solution? it was made to be used over and over again and it was done reduce the production of paper bags which meant lesser trees being cut. Something went wrong when someone got greedy and started to manufacture these single use plastics which a problem today

Yeah when I was in Kenya, plastic bags were legit illegal. When crossing the border from Tanzania to Kenya thru Namanga, almost got rejected entry into Kenya for having plastic bags. Good steps by African nations though
