How are repair cost on the Vw's? I've heard in the past older one are high? Also what are maintenance cost by chance, does anyone know. I've said I'd never would get anything vw, but after seeing a GLI at a dealership and looked at it. I would consider it this time
When are we going to get the next generation of Jetta, the only 2 things it's missing in the rear seats are, vents and cooled seats for the driver and passenger
More than likely the new Jetta will be built on the MQB platform, however as they currently stand, I look at the GLI and the GTI as a Grand Tourer vs a Sporty Hot Hatch. If you want a great cruiser that can handle extremely well, the GLI is your bet. If you want that straight canyon carving performance and speed, then the GTI is the better buy. By no means does that mean the GLI isn't capapble. It's just the GTI does everything a little bit better. The Jetta is still a great car by any measure!
I drove a VW with vinyl seats for a while in California. Never, ever again. Your back is always baked to the seat. Terrible. There should be a quality fabric upholstery option on every trim.
I've owned mine so far for over a year and four months; haven't really had any problems with mine yet. Planning on buying it after the lease is up (with an extended warranty just for extra insurance).

Agree 100%, it's tempting for more mature people, but the GTI has a better interior, and the MQB platform is superior.

I just sold a 2012 GLI this summer with 60k miles on the odometer. My car had zero reliability issues over 5 years of ownership.
Starting 2018 they have 6 year 72,000 mile warranty.
This is the same company that makes Audi Porsche Lamborghini....... look up the Volkswagen group ...... best automaker in the world
