I plan to do a similar swap and have been doing my research. I believe there is a transmission mount out of a diesel vehicle (not sure if it's an E46 or E9x) that is bolt-on for this application. Turner motorsports would know, as they used it on their S65-powered E46.
looks like the trans mount on the trans itself is on two bolts. maybe you could unbolt that and get one from e46 to fit on the brace in the stock position
Bro the electronic side of this build will be a nightmare. But from someone who owns a e46 m3 and a e60 m5, this will be the ultimate BMW when it’s all said and done.
Appreciate you! Planning on running the factory ECU - I already got it coded for a bunch of things, planning on starting her up for the first time by the end of this month if all goes smooth
After watching a lot of these, it would definitely be better to remove the inner section of the E46 frame rails and replace it with a heavier gauge flat plate bead rolled with 2 inverted ribs. If you are super worried about the strength, mount a round tube inside the rail before mounting the flat face. Fabricate custom motor mounts closer to the block that use standard LS style engine mounts for reliability, availability, aftermarket, and cost.
Much more room for rack and steering, headers, and peripheral accessories. This amount of fabrication will be absolutely nothing compared to shoehorning the headers, steering, and peripherals in with absolutely no room to move.
@@YEVSBUILDS I watched Driftworks build, they had to modify everything; steering rack, cross member, engine mounts, exhaust and so on. Only thing they didn't modify is the body. so yes, it fits perfectly in the engine bay. It's simply takes up all the space so nothing else fits. Kinda crazy, but I hope you figure it out. Good luck

@@YEVSBUILDS Here's an example of frame and strut tower mods in an E30.

Can it fit in a 2013 550i?
Hey bro just letting you know your steering rack will hit it your exhaust manifold
Haha yeah, I figured. That's why my plans for the headers is changing really quick to be honest.
@@YEVSBUILDS I have a 2004 bmw e46 m3 and I’m doing the same thing I’m trying to put the v10 in it
@@dominiclucas6196 You on Instagram?
👍
Hey how do you plan on tuning the motor ?
I have the original ECU for now but not sure exactly how I'll tune it. Somewhere reliable and local probably?
Dude, that V10 is a perfect fit. It's everything else that doesn't fit.
Hahah right?

I think the E30 body is maybe a better choice@@YEVSBUILDS, but I don't know. Love the build tho.
You tryna weld and modify the shifter is pointless. Just buy a chassis mount and an adjustable DSSR problem solved
Yessir! That's the plan now since this video was released. You'll see what I'll end up doing very soon!
